K2, D3, & Magnesium supplementation

Anyone have thoughts on K2, D3, & Magnesium supplementation. While Im making some sense of things Im no Brain lol.

I Was searching Mast/Prov and came across articles/posts regarding hair loss and soft tissue calcification. Theres some articles regarding higher dosages for people using Test/DHT hormones.

Just want to add that hair loss is not a big deal for me now but the other benifits and so on of K2, D3, & Magnesium supplementation is interesting.

I use all 3 daily year round forget about just on cycle

5000 iu Vitamin D, LEF Super-K, and generic ZMA dosage being used here. Every day.

Agreed. I don't run them year round but I know a lot of people who do and they seem to like it.

This is great advice, however Vit D3 has a U shaped curve for benifit - the optimum dose is likely around 3000iu a day. absorption is better dosing higher every few days rather than every day. I guess taking a few days off occasionally is probably the way to go, especially if you are out in the sun

Low dose supplementation (400 or 800IU/day) is probably only sufficient to rise and maintain adequate vitamin D levels in lean women,

Medium dose supplementation (1,400 or 2,400IU/day) yields the most favorable outcomes in total 25OHD levels and

High dose supplementation (3,200, 4,000 or 4,800IU/day) does not yield additional benefits in either the the normal-, overweight and obese subgroup and only marginally higher levels in the lean women.

From Suppversity, lots more on D there (another one in male athletes, soccer I think) showing 5,000 is good. I agree that you are probably "fine" with 3,000 - but I'm a dude who is lean, so I'll take a "marginal benefit" with 5,000 and it's just easier for me - and I've been on 5K since 2010 with no adverse events.

6,000IU D from 3 drops Bio-D-Mulsion Forte (that keeps my 25OH around 75-85)
15mg MK4
800mg magnesium from Albion chelated magnesium

Has anyone ever had any issues with an inability to get a pump after dosing on the higher end with vitamin D? This has happened to me on numerous occasions. When starting with 6,000 IU, the pumps are great, but after about a week it completely dissipates. Perhaps hypercalcemia?

Perhaps hypercalcemia?

Highly unlikely but it *is* possible. 5,000iu/Day (she says), caused:

She became dehydrated, lethargic, had abdominal pain, impaired balance, weakness, slurred speech, tremors, and two hours of difficulty speaking and so came to the hospital. She had high blood calcium (14.6) and low magnesium (1.3).

So avoid seeking out extra Calcium and check for those symptoms.

At what dosage do you use? I was meaning higher dosages when on Test/DHT Hormones (Im on year round)

WHY ARE YOU AVOIDING MY MESSAGES ALL OF SUDDEN?

The_Old_Guy When I had initially started supplementing with D3 and saw those impressive results, I was not taking Magnesium or MK4 with it. As I'd stated previously, the water balance and energy faded after about a week in. No pumps. I've since tried supplementing D3 at around 4-5,000 IU's with mk4 and about 200 - 400 mg Chelated Magnesium per day. I still have not been able to replicate the results I got when I did this the first time. This is really interesting and my theory is perhaps blood calcium levels became too elevated and caused an imbalance with the other electrolytes. Thoughts about trying a 3rd time?

edit: I will add that I've read the mk4 is supposed to prevent the hypercalcemia from high d3 intakes.
