Just had Gyno surgery... any others had it?

first surgery i've ever had other than wisdom teeth removal. Strange process... I'm about 12 days out from the surgery, and everywhere fat/gland was removed (outer and lower edge of pecs, and upper ridge of pec where it intersects w/ armpit area) are getting very hard, nearly hard as bone. Will have before and after pics after stuff heals up and looks err, presentable.
Any one else had this done, any experience with what is going on with the hardening?

I had the surgery a couple years ago. Wasn't too painful. Except when the doctor yanked out the drains. The hardening is more than likely scar tissue and inflamation. Don't worry, it'll go away in a few weeks. When the doctor gives you the green light to remove the vest, and if you still have some scar tissue, try rubbing cocoa butter on the area. In the meantime, just try and keep your sanity being away from the weight room.:)

One of my good friends just had surgery on his a couple months ago....
His occured naturally, no drugs involved. Ill tell him to post on here

How long do you have to stay out of the gym?

I have pubescent gyno that was recently exacerbated during PCT :( Not really evident aside from puffy nips, but the permanent tenderness is quite irritating to say the least.

Yes please update on price ranges from GOOD docs! I have a friend that would probably give you oral pleasure if you tell him where to get his gyno reomoved professionally and without costing a fortune. For my gyno I'd say THANK YOU, and thats it you sick freaks! LOL!

Insurance covered most of mine. But I still ended up paying around $1,000 out of my own pocket. But it was definetly worth it in my opinion. I was out of the gym for 4 weeks.

Kyck- If you have tenderness, then there may be a chance that your insurance company may cover it.

Any tips on how to woo your insurance company into paying for it? I can pay $1-3,000 out of pocket, but certainly not 6 grand.

You can def find a good doc who can do it for $3 grand.

Just make sure you know and trust the doc. There are MANY scam artists who dont give a **** about you out there. Plastic Surgery is Hit-Or-Miss

Actually, I shouldn't say def. It does depend on how bad it is. I jumped to answer simply because most of the guys I talk to need only a small lump taken out. A major surgery is always different.

There are a few factors that would help. One being there's actual physical pain or tenderness involved. Another if it was caused by puberty or genetics, not by AAS or PH. Another was that both of my grandmothers had breast cancer.

Well, I'm 2/3 there, its pubertal, and they're tender. Ill make an appt with my doc. and see what I can do.

I had mine removed by a local (knoxville, tn) plastic surgeon. i'm 2 weeks out on the dot, I can tell the nipples were cut open when I examine them myself, but looking in the mirror after showering and whatnot, you can't tell (pretty amazing imo). the worst of it is the scarring so far, i mean to say internal scarring - really hard tissue that is building up where fat and gland were removed, but as i understand this is normal and takes several weeks to go away. all my bruising was about 4/5 gone after the first week as well.

I travelled to richmond VA initially to see an "expert" plastic surgeon named michael bermandt. His work looked good, but consider i drove 7 hours to see him. he was much more interested in my history of substance abuse (heavy thc use for 1 contained year (all of 2001), along with light experimenting that same year with designer drugs and hallucinogens). Even though I had med records documenting my first concern with the lumps at age 16, he gave me a lot of **** about steroid and tamoxifen/clomid use (strange...) even though I haven't done any cycle of aas. following the questioning, he refused to do the exam I paid for, and sent my merry ass out of there, also charging me for the exam I did not get. Resentment? definately. I haven't seen any that general surgeons have performed, but I didn't want to risk it after seeing some badly done jobs by gen surgeons....

Mine was considered "cosmetic" since I went to a plastic surgeon -total cost was $4,750. I could have had a percentage covered by insurance if I went to a general surgeon, but as stated earlier, didn't want to risk a botched job on my man hooters.

Damn, guy sounds like an asshole. I was actually thinkin about maybe goin to him too but nevermind. I've had gyno since puberty and yes, last year I also did heavy marijuana use but they didn't get worse or anything like that. I see them several times a day, I think I would have noticed if they got worse. What the hell is up his ass

If you had started getting gyno in puberty but never mentioned it before because you didnt know what the hell it was, can you still have insurance cover it? Or are they going to think you just made it up? Not sure if they just believe you. Im not saying I have gyno, i cant really tell if I got it full out. I have had it a little bit since puberty, but im not sure if it has gotten worse this year or it is just some fat on me. I have really used much aas this past year nor stuff that would have made it worse, any cycle I had planned was not followed through with, so im not sure if it is getting worse or some fat is there. Gotta wait till i cut down to know for sure. But i definatly have tender nips and I feel like there is a lump there.

in response to the above post... if you want to have insurance cover it - i do not know of any insurance that will cover cosmetic surgery procedures, so make sure you trust that the general surgeon you speak w/ regarding the op is competent in the task. I would suggest not spilling beans about aas use (if applicable), if there is pain, tenderness, swelling, whatever, stress that it is bugging you in that way as well as the appearance, otherwise it may be regarded as a cosmetic only procedure, even so, I know others who had it removed by a general for cosmetic only reasons and insurance covered most of the cost. The procedure was nowhere near as bad as my anxiety had me believing, the worst part so far is the internal scarring which is a small bit painful and limiting of range of movement. I was given percocets afterwards, but they really didn't help, nor did I actually need them, ibuprofen sufficed. Your doc will generally word things so that insurance will cover it, afterall, they do want to get paid.

I really wouldn't risk getting the surgury done by a general surgeon. I've heard a lot of horror stories of the horrible scars left behind. If you're interested in getting the surgury done, then go and see a plastic surgeon, and see if insurance will cover any of it. IMO it's not worth saving a few extra pennies but never being able to remove your shirt in public because of such horrible scars. Just my .02.

I had gyno surgery, it was fun, and I enjoyed it, felt nice to get rid of my bitch tits, paid 4300 for it up here in CT by a very nice and very high end greenwich based cosmetic surgeon that did a friggin flawless job, was well worth it. I went to have it done down in Costa Rica earlier this year, no way in hell! anyone who says its a bargain is a fuckin lunatic IMO, I really did go there I got a story I posted on it (San Jose is a filthy and disgusting third world hell hole w/o road signs or police or anything, I was glad to get out intact). I'll stick to the the first world 2x the price, but 10x the convenience and service.
