And the psyche is awesome. If you give a guy that much gear, he thinks he's king Kong, Chuck Norris, and God's gift to women. Even if he's 140 pounds, can't bench the bar and can't fight out of a paper bag.

I've always heard the "alpha" feeling is one of the reasons a lot of guys get addicted to being "on". I can see how one could develop a psychological dependency on feeling that way vs how they felt without it (gear).

I can 100% attest to this. It's one of the primary reasons I decided to get off last year.

Lol. I see this even with guys that are probably just on some PH, once that extra test gets flowing its game over.
 
Its not hard to control once you're cognizant of it, at least for me. I'm a pretty easygoing guy.
 
Which, btw, reminds me.

Im thinking of adding in another heavier bench slot. Going to work up to a x2-3@9 and then do rep drops off that. So if I hit a x2@9 id drop and do sets of x1 until the x1 became an rpe of 9. I read about them in one of mike's documents a while ago and never knew when i'd employ them. Then they just popped into my head today when I was doing my light bench work and I'm thinking i want to try it out.

Since i dropped squat work so much i think I could either:

1. add this as another heavy upper lift in one of the two slots i was going to add a lower lift to (which i dont particularly like since I'd rather pull or do PC work than bench).
2. I could just trade one of the supplemental lifts for this to do as another comp press.
3. Or i could do one of the supplemental lifts in this fashion vs the load drop/repeats (first lift that comes to mind is towel press).

Thoughts?

Anybody have any thoughts on this? I may just test it out with towel press tonight and go from there.
 
And i just stumbled onto this other UPA meet on June 4th. It's the same day i was planning on competing already but this meet is about 40 mins from my hometown in IN so I'm going to do that one instead. Instead of weighing in friday, getting a hotel, then going to compete on sat (like i would for the WI meet) I'll just leave here friday, stop for weigh ins, go to my parent's house and crash there for the night, then go back and compete the next day. It'll give me a reason to go see the rents (who I havent seen in months) and also save me a little dough on a hotel.

Screw it then. I'll just try it out today and see what happens. If it goes alright maybe ill switch another heavy comp day in for one of the other accessory slots.

That's why I mentioned the promo - an honest review ain't bad for a free tub of psych up! Couple months back or so; Orbit was pulling off the board and CL was about to start cranking out tons of new products so it's been awesome. I think we've released at least 5 new products in that time not counting multiple flavors.

Never had much experience with Orbit, but I always heard good things about there CS.

Not too sure on the GM+SQ combo. I need to get a video of them next week just to see what the hell is really goin on lol.

Other than that, high relative intensity today on bench. 9 singles with >90%. And a bunch of back down work. Still not sure how i feel about the rep drop as I'm thinking it may he better to save all the singles for the peak...if i do it maybe ill stick to x3@9 with a drop to x2. I'm thinking that should generate fatigue a little quicker and accumulate some extra volume. I wont be doing them on the same day as comp pressing though, that was stupid. Maybe Monday-Friday or Saturday-Wednesday.
 
Hard to not at least do doubles considering it usually grooves better on the second because you can fix anything wrong w the first immediately without waiting for the next set.

I like it when I'm in the mood, but i cant eat it too often. Every 2-3 months the gf and i go to this restaurant that has 1/2 price specialty rolls on Mondays. We usually max and then we're good til the next time we go.
 
Btw. I didn't get gpp in today. While i was at the gym taking my pre workout dump my gf called me and told me she just got a flat tire. So, i went to go leave and change it for her. Closed gym by the time i was done, i was short on time as it was.

Lol. Nope. It was raining so she sat in my car. Good thing i told her to just get the tire replaced and not get it put back on her car. She's gonna learn how to do that part :)
 
No training today. Was planning on training when i got off work at 4, but at about 12 my other job texted me asking me to come in for the last 3 hours of the day. So, headed there now. Hopefully will get deads in in the AM. Even if I'm short on time ill just pull in the AM and go back in the PM for the other stuff.

^slow breaking the floor on that 575. Glutes being shut off more than likely being the culprit. I finally found my ipad and charged it so i will get a damn vid this week. My shoulders also feel like they're out over the bar further than they should be.

Was planning on hitting some upper back after pulls but i got to talking to one of the guys from the team about their meet this weekend. He basically ran me through his entire 12 week training block lol so that ate up some time at the end.

Thats it. Squats in the AM. Probably gonna go ssb again.
 
Just had an idea. Maybe ill do the rep drops going forward on CGBP. It's about the closest to a comp press as i can get at this point (without it being a comp press), especially with the new comp grip width. Plus it fits the day 1 day 3 or day 2 day 4 heavy benching i wanted to do.

Not gonna lie, my motivation to go in was really low. I at least got my ass out of bed and went though. I've never had this problem of getting out of bed to to go train, but man have i had it bad for the last few weeks. I always preferred training in the mornings, but now im definitely an afternoon/night guy.

It has been pretty bad since starting this meet prep. I can honestly say my motivation to train has never been this low for this long of a period.

I'm gonna reduce the specificity a bit for a while after this meet. I dont even care if my training going into the meet in September isn't ideal, i just want to look forward to going to the gym and have fun (while also getting stronger) when I'm there.
 
Yah, hey we don't get paid to do this stuff man. If I didn't have fun doing it, I'd have to change it up too.
