I'm flying high with how well training is going right now. There's still a ****load of things I need to work on and fix, but I'm continuing to make improvements and get stronger. The dips actually tied a PR from back in 2013 when I was first trying to get to 198. I still haven't officially made it since I bombed at my last meet, but my intentions are still 198. I've lost a couple of lbs of fat recently (not on purpose) and am cruising around 206-208. I'll be upping my calories this week to put some mass on me and hold around 212-214.

Rod, any idea why my right knee is not tracking my toes? I notice it doesn't even track when I'm walking or sitting. The knee sits inward. I'm thinking its a hip issue because it looks better after I spend quite a bit of time stretching out the hips with Kstarr stretches. Wanted to check and see if you had any thoughts though

A tight hamstring causing external rotation is possible, but it could be anything from the ground up. With me, my external rotation comes from a tight hamstring, which locks up my piriformis.

Got my IR gear in today. The knee sleeves are very, very thick and much more stiff than my Titans. I only tried on the Outlaws, but they're comfortable and rigid at the same time. Initial impressions are encouraging. It'll be awhile before I can give the Anancondas a real review since I'm nowhere near a peak or ready to start briefs/suit again.

The IR sleeves are wonderful. A bitch to get into place, but very good. For only ~$60 a pair, they're a steal. I had some issues with creating torque in my right glute, but they felt fast and about 1" below parallel. I don't know where those SG came from today. I was just feeling it.

Rod, have you ever had issues with your rear delt coming off the bench during the ascent of the bar? This has been happening lately and it's making my bench look like a train wreck. I'm also having trouble keeping that right lat tight and down. I don't think MFR is the answer, as I do plenty of that.

IIRC, you've been having scap tracking issues for awhile. At this point, you may want to look into specific scap mobilization techniques (e.g. wall slides).

Focus of the day was technique and especially establishing consistent footing. Luckily, I have found some cues that help to hold my scap position and where to put my feet for more drive. That being said, today freaking sucked in that I was very fatigued after benching. I eventually had to just check out and go on autopilot. It ended up going much better than expected as I was able to thoroughly work the muscle. Energy levels were low but it was still productive.

Also, Outlaws are a mean wrist wrap. They started to actually hurt my hand after being wrapped for over 45s.

Told you the outlaws were mean! The raptors don't have the painful bite, but can only cast maybe 80% of the Outlaws potential

They're a bit much for my raw work, but they'll be great for when I get back into my gear.

PR city today, but they came at a cost. Hamstrings are now both pissy as the rep was a grinder. That being said, I am now nearly as strong as I was in gear. The Outlaws are a fantastic wrap and I will be sticking with those for awhile. Looking forward, the question will be which brief to get now that I've settled at a weight.

What qualities do you want in a pair of briefs?

Huge SSB numbers man; I haven't been able to pass 422 on it ever. Your old strength is coming back nicely!
This is actually beyond my old strength and getting close to my gear numbers.

What qualities do you want in a pair of briefs?

To now, my favorite pair are the Jacks. I need stopping power at the hole and I like the support they offer at the hips. I don't need them extra tight on the thigh as I sill have larger thighs and my suit is an Ace. The new M style briefs look nice and, I've read from either Marshall or Jo Jordan, you can get a double play version if you call and ask for it.

You know I'm gonna say black Predators. Grid stitched if you'd like. Just saw your ace/ace comment, and considering you like Jack briefs, I'll say size 42 red predators. Preds have long, flared legs. If you went black for stop, you'd want size 40. Inzer has some sizing and material quirks that they do not acknowledge

I had no idea that there were differences in the Preds.

Red material is stretchier and fits tighter per size, black material is stiffer and fits looser. Same with shirts. It's disputed by the company and probably their reps, but it's clear when you wear it.

What about the blue?

I know next to nothing about the blue material. I've seen two or three blue Phenoms ever. Training buddy Bart doesn't know anything about it, so the blue doesn't get a place at the table at Westside.

Actually was able to train with someone from the crew and I was actually able to get a compliment from him. That being said, the wave is still going strong and this was another great day. Hammys are feeling a little better, but I need to get on top of these before they become a chronic concern.

Got the proverbial wild hair today and worked up. I'm still playing it slightly conservative and have yet to grind. I can tell it's been awhile since I've had real weight in my hands (I haven't pulled 600+ since July) as my callous's are getting shredded. Other than that, this was fantastic and had another 1-2 in the tank. However, learning from Sunday, I didn't work up to a max single as my hamstrings are not 100% yet. It wasn't until the second rep at 545 that I felt them tighten up. I hope to hit 585 in the relatively near future and then start playing around with the gear.

What do you attribute the sudden rise in strength is from even though you came off aas?

Going back to becoming the most technical MF'er on the planet. I slowly got away from it over the years after hitting my squat plateau. In my last meet, I was so externally rotated at the femur that I couldn't create tension. My deadlift will always be my strong point thanks to my build and I'm maturing as a lifter again.

Looking back on it, I first got away from the little things when I hurt my back in 2013. There were several bad habits that I picked up from that (cutting depth, not packing the core, inadequate shelf for the bar) that slowly accumulated into being a **** lifter.

Ran short on time for accessories and will do them tomorrow. Bench felt solid and I'm starting to kinda feel confident. Or at least as confident as I can be on bench. I really want to throw on my shirt soon so I don't completely lose the skills and to see how this setup will carryover to a shirt.

I like it, get some triples in the shirt and get back to beefing the raw pressing power. I'm finding the bar speed to be so incredibly important with that elastic Jack material. Hell, even the stopping power shirts like it when you're fast.

Do you (or Lou) have any experience or opinions on Boss briefs?

I have a boss suit I've worn soil for like three reps. Too tight, it was miserable. That's the only thing I learned from it.

Pros/cons? I like a tight hip and not a tourniquet on the thigh.

Super boss are custom made. The guy who owned them was built similar to me. So great fit. I liked the less stopping power of compared to ace as I hit depth easier but the pop was the best of any brief I've worn. Hit a brief pr of 600 first time in them.

With the meet on the horizon for June, it's about time to get back into gear as I haven't been in it for awhile now. Can't seem to find much feedback on Preds or Super Boss and not sure I want to go Metal again.

I'd skip metal and go super boss based on what I've been around. All the Obb guys either used those or ace briefs.

Preds don't get a lot of attention from what I've seen and the guys who have them burn through them as they stretch out fast. Not a fan of the way they feel either personally.

It doesn't look like the SB is being made anymore unless they just rebranded the Boss. The SB are at Anderson, but not on Titan itself.

The preds do have a pulling in feel on the knees. I've never had any brief anywhere near that good. But I've only worn them, titan legless single ply, and metal pros.

I believe you have to email Anderson to get them done. Also Anderson/Titan will make anything you want. I have a buddy who has super katanas made out of boss material, which is nasty. I'd say overkill but they are out of commission atm.

That concerns me as I have a tendency to cave.

A little roll up on the legs and you're good. I spent a little time not getting my gear set high enough as well.

Another option to consider that popped in my head just now is possibly going 3 ply in the brief.
