Journey to Elite

Looked good man. Im surprised you got so little to touch a 2 board. Oh yes it tears your nips up lol.

I didn't bloat up today because I knew it was going to be difficult. It won't be as easy to touch in about 3 weeks once the blast takes effect.

Have fun benching in the 5s soon man!

I'm very much so looking forward to that. The groove actually felt very natural to me on the shirt. Once I get used to setting up with it (the chest plate is a different feel than my Ace) and get my body locked in, I'll be handling 5 wheels.

Hell yes! Awesome benching. Interested to see what you'll be able to touch on your blast. You'll be able to lock out whatever you can barely touch with that kind of pop, though.

Well hurry up!

Spent some time looking up some potential solutions so I don't have the nipple issue again. I had no idea there were so many nipple cover and pasty options. Learn something new everyday.

You can get the pasties at Walmart or Target.

Looked back at some videos from when I first started gear work and realized I've brought my stance in over the years. Not coincidentally, my squat has stalled. Went about 2" wider per side and the groove is so natural. I break at the hip and just throw my knees out. Boom.

Good day and smashed some good volume. Floor presses were essentially done in a speed fashion. Other accessories were done pretty quickly with about 90s rest and was drenched by the end. I've gotten away from this recently and need to get back to doing it.

Sidenote: sitting at 230 as of today (mid-day weight) and starting blast today.

PC is torched right now. Was having a bit of a positioning issue on the sumo, but I think that was from the bands slightly pulling me forward. I didn't have pegs so I had them under my shoes and may have had them to close to the toe on some sets.

Felt much better today. Legs were in a better spot than last week and didn't jack the shirt down. This shirt has some serious pop when you groove it properly. Definitely looking forward to 501 soon.

That looked like an excellent rep. How did it feel? Didn't seem you'd have any trouble touching with that weight either.

How low on your chest and shoulders are you putting the shirt?
Not low at all. The back covers my rear delts and most of my anterior delts are covered as well.

Didn't feel too heavy. Have a bit of tendinitis in my wrist at the movement. Should've tried to double it.
Looking good in the shirt
Any critiques?

Your tucking and picking your head up to early. If you had more weight on the bar and stayed flared to three board range with head down then slowly tucked as it locked and picked your head up ull get more pop out of it. But i see you slowly creeping the percents up so in time ull have to do this to maximize carryover. Could be more explosive on the press too, shirt is all pop.

Two things to keep in mind: I have very long arms for my frame and my grip is ring finger on the rings. I'm definitely a triceps bencher and not a pec bencher. I do know what you mean by the tucking aspect as the set before I almost overtucked on the descent. This set was with a more moderate elbow positioning and could definitely feel the seams on the chest plate digging in near the armpit and I didn't get that bite at all last week.

On head position, do you try to keep the head down as long as possible to keep traps set?

I didnt realize you were ao close. However the jack shirt is a triple ply chest plate. So keeping the elbows out more gives you more pop. I am a tricep bencher also and got more pop only tucking when the shirt locked up. I keep my head down to about two board range then pick it up as i tuck to keep bar positioning. Basically what you do but later in the rep.

Thanks. I'll likely start moving my grip out as I get more comfortable in the shirt.

No i bench pinky on the ring raw, hit 315, toss shirt on for 405 and go middle on ring then onward.
Thanks. I'll move my grip out a finger next time and see how that feels. I used that width until my meet in December. No clue why I changed then, but I did at it felt good.

Squat (Ace brief)
475x2x3
515x2x2
545x1x2

Crunches for time today and was only able to get squats in, but nailed every set. I've been burying my reps since I made my stance adjustment. The Ace brief makes it a little difficult at the bottom to keep the legs wide with knees out so I have to force them out harder than ever. Happy with this process so far.

I feel its a good blend of width for a shorter rom and still leaves room for the triceps to fire.

I always found the opposite with ace, the cut it actually designed to force the knees out and for a more straight up and down squat. This is why i also liked to pull in them.

That's how the Jack's are for me. When I'm really wide, Ace almost throws my knees in at the bottom for both pulling and squatting.
