Jobs?

I looking at starting college next semester and would like to know what jobs are available in bodybuiliding. Mosting i can only thing of a few things in the Dr. catagory. I plan on going in to med school i just don't know what for. One of my biggest passions in life is bb and health. I was thinking of possibley going into hormone replacement therapy or somthing along those lines. Any idea? or other career fields dealing with bbing ?
 
I'm going to apply to be an "official" pre-med major soon.

I'm thinking radiology and getting involved in sports medicine firm once I get some $$ in the bank. That or I'll do reconstructive surgery or anesthesiology...I'd be happy in any of those, and of course I want some cash, too :) [People rag doctors who want money....wtf for? Everybody goes to school to make a good living. It's not like you can't care for patience and like money at the same time...]
 
Kwyck beat me to it... Radio or dermatology. Derm is a good entry into plastics, but it's competitive. If you're really sharp and do well you can shoot for neuro. In any case, stay out of Illinois if you want to earn a living. The insurance premiums are insane. There is no "legit" money in HRT. Sub-acute/acute care sucks as well.
 
Oh yeah, Derm was another one I was looking into :) But, in case of a recession things like Derm and Plastic (non-reconstructive) would take a big fat bite outta my wallet. Sports never die, so if I got involved with a good sports medicine firm, I believe I'd be okay.

An's do well, but malpractice insurance is ridiculous for them (thank you John Edwards and company!!!).

I was thinking about starting a Gynocology practice outside of San Diego State University--discounts for college students in good health--but, Edwards ruined that for me, too :( :twisted: Okay, so i was kidding....
 
Yeah, totally in agreement re: plastics in a recession. Dermatology is somewhat recession-resistant, especially in the South/SW. Dermatology does better in the sunshine-states. Sun=cancer. Good news is that most skin malignancies are curable. I'd go to Northern Cali/ if finishing residency -- density is low with lots of sun.

Everbody wants gyne until they give their first pelvic exam on the 300lb patient.
 
I was looking more on the lines of dealing with trophic development or amino breakdown. Sports med would be great. I might look into that.
 
I am sorry but I find this thread funny. I admire your ambition but I think you are getting a little ahead of yourself. Postgraduate studies is much more competitive than undergraduate.

One field that may interest you is exercise physiology and/or mammalian physiology.

Possibly but working with in a medical environment for the past 3 years has been exciting for me. So why not try to combine the 2 things i love the most? I have one semester left of accelerated medical program before i become a licensed medical technician and then just have to take my boards and ill be making a good chunk of change to work my way through college. I want a job that pays great and i enjoy doing.
 
If you dont believe you can do something, you will end up failing at it.

While the path into a medical career is indeed a long and arduous one, it takes dedication and a commitment to give up the best years of your life to school.

I always have been and am willing to do so. And I too am trying to pursue a career similar to the original poster; BBing and health are what I love and would love to work with, not diagnosing some skank with syphillis.
 
I think working as a strength coach for a college or pro team would be something to think of. Believe or not, they don't make as much money as I thought but they still make good money
 
Bro, you can do whatever you wanna do as long as ya put the work into it.
I would also look into being an HRT physician...

I like med fields too, but I don't have the patience for anymore schooling. At the moment I'm a computer repair person, but can't stand it anymore. And I went to college for it for 2.5 years. Starting next month, I'm going to school to drive tractor trailers. Good money and I get to see the roads, which I like very much. On top of that, I just like it and I know that I won't mind going to work ED and to me that's what counts...

Good man... I'm in the Air Force right now, going back to school in fall '06 - spring '07 at OU to get my B.S. in nursing. I plan on either sticking with being a nurse anesthetist, or going back for more school and being an anesthesiologist...

Well, I guess that I will see you then. And nursing school is tough but I hear that it's very interesting.

Yeah I'm sure I'll have my work cut out for me. Do you have any friends in the OU School of Nursing?

I don't think so, but I know plenty of pre-meds ;)
