Jjohn's contest prep. 1 year preparation!

Yes Okay Okay. All in all it could turn into a bash fest for him. Sure he might have post-whored and done other ****ty things. All that must be taken in stride. Obviously in order to be respected one should post quality and not bull ****. But seriously at age 18 immaturity can be expected. However, in the case of an 18 year old on here who is a gold member and wishes to get big off of natural anabolic's should be at a higher maturity than what would normally be expected. Now, bashing Jjohn only points to two things 1) You want him to straighten up and post quality threads [which he seems to be trying to do] or 2) Get him to leave the forum completely.
Now I don't want #2, but #1 would be just fine. So maybe flaming 30 over might need to slow down a bit and wait for his next move.

Edit- What the hell. He wants to buy Halodrol on 06/13/06. That's a bit daring as you know the rules for anyone under 21 on here. Jeez. You really shouldn't do that.

Good points gotripped. Jjohn...good luck with your contest prep bro, and please continue to make quality posts! What are your current height/weight stats and your goals for the contest?

Okay, I am back. I was busy at work, gym, and just been victim of a hit and run with 5000$ damage to my car. So I didn't had time to hang around here. For the post whoring, I didn't do it since I had the warning, and yes, it was for free supplements. For the Halodrol, I meant Hyperdrol. I said that before in that thread. And no, I do not have a big frame. I started training with my grandfather at 13 yrs. old, in his basement and his old weights. I have a smaller frame than a cat. Yes, my bf% was not exceptionnal for the contest, but I wanted to learn and know my body better. By the way, I finished 3/3 in junior competition. Not too good, but I was there. I lost 35 pounds while cutting, which got me a good push to make some realist objectives for next year. I know how my body reacts, and will do my best for the next year. So now that everything is clear, you pardon me and I can have a 2nd chance? Now I would like to see this thread clear of bashing, and ask questions if you would like to. I am there to help others, as well as myself.

And for the hernias, they were at the same place. top of belly button. I have had 2 operations and treated at shouldice for the 2nd, and have not had any problems since. I am always pushing very hard, and focusing on isolating the muscle is more important that trying to impress your friends. I was lifting heavier before, and that's why I got that. Now I am more focused, and focus on doing quality reps. Please give me a second chance, you wont be disapointed.

Thanks,

plus one - i think everyone should always be given a second chance or maybe even a third, but there is a point in which people cross in ones mind that is the point of no return. Hope that you do very well Jjohn and wish positive things for everyone!

Thanks,

As long as the post whoring has honestly stopped, I will gladly remove any bashing or blantant negativity from this point onward. I doubt that this will even continue to be an issue if you truly mean what you said. I'm sure you will find that most members will gladly give you a second chance as well as words of encouragement. Goodluck with your preparation.

P.S. Sorry to hear about your car.

What I find funny is all these people complaining and making his thread into a topic about his past posting tendancies. Do you guys follow him around to post this, just curious?

It's hard to miss someone who has made 720 posts in under 1 month, well at least it is for most of us.

Either way, the subject has been dropped and we've moved on, maybe you should too...

Nice. I am glad to hear that. I will post stats and measurements tomorrow morning, and I will post weight every 10 days, so the fluctuations are not too significant. Thanks for the support guys.

John - enjoy being 18 and going to college/etc.
I wouldn't get too serious into the competition life-style if it were me. I know it's tough - got a few buds that compete.

Enjoy being young and having good joints. Enjoy the seemingly endless supply of young nubile co-eds willing to throw their clothes off with little effort (well - not when I was in school...).

Dude - I can tell ya that it goes by quick.
Soon, you will be a (figuratively) nutured, withered, old man with bad knees and pissed off at the world.

Have fun!

Listen to the man... he knows. Wanna talk old and decrepit... looks at little jmh80.

On the other hand, if you're 18, you may still be growing and what better time to eat, eat, eat and really solidify that base???

I can say that I have been seriously training for 5 years. The supplements I take doesn't do much compared to the efforts you put in the gym, and the right food choices you make. I have a good base and am approaching my 20's, I heard that this is the time when you take more size. I am 6 feet 1, and 180 lbs, around 11% BF I think. So it's pretty good for me. I have never been in a so good shape. I was 195 once, but a lot more fat was on there. So thanks for the support, and measurements will be made tomorrow. Now I have to sleep and get the bad stuff out:dump:

Here is a little about me:

Weight is 181.5 this morning.

Waist: 34.5"
Arms: 14.5"

What I am eating:
Meal one: 1 cup oatmeal, 8 egg whites
Meal two: 1 cheestring, 1 banana, 1 shake, 7 rice cakes
Meal three(lunch) 6-8 oz ground turkey(extra lean), brocolli, 7 rice cakes, diet pepsi
Meal four: 1 cheestring, 1 apple, 1 shake
Pre workout: 1 cup cottage cheese
During workout: Half of( 80 g gatorade, purple wraath, 2 scoops whey)
Post workout: Rest of the shake
Meal five: 1 1/2 hrs after workout: 6-8 oz ground turkey, brocolli, 1 cup oatmeal, 8 egg whites
Meal six: whey shake, 1 cup cottage cheese

I personally feel that rice cakes are for women. I look at them and my estrogen goes up.

I'd shoot myself If I ate one.
:shoot:

Jjohn - I think you may be taking in too much of your protien from shakes bro...its best to keep as much as you can from solid food.

I have to say John, that is not the best diet I have ever seen. You should definitely, definitely cut out the rice cakes and shakes (didn't mean to rhyme). You need to replace the cakes with lower-GI, more stable forms of carbohydrates, and the proteins with whole food sources. You should also be taking in some quality carbohydrates pre-training, 6g of Carbs from the Cottage Cheese is not going to cut it. Also..Cheesestrings? I hope that they aren't processed, that would be bad news bear. It is definitely alright to replace those with part or full skim cheddar or mozzarella. If you are serious about your training, that diet has to be changed IMO.

Great post, all your advice is spot-on! IMO, this diet isn't that bad, as I've seen a lot worse.

Jjohn-I'd take mullet's advice and spend a little bit of time tweaking your diet, you'll really notice an improvement!

He's 18 though.

F*cker should be able to eat what he wants.

I know I wish I still could....

I don't think age really makes a difference if you want results faster. Obviously if he's going to spend money on supplements to better his physique why shouldn't he get his diet in order to make it go that much faster? Just because a body can process quickly at a younger age doesn't leave an excuse to slack off.

Try baked potatoes, no cheese just 1% milkfat cottage cheese. With lettuce and tomato. Then throw in a chicken breast and drink a glass of water. Instead of rice cakes grab whole wheat multi-grain anything. Hell a wheat bagel I'd say would be better PWO and grab up some eggs. 1 eggs 4 egg white. cheese strings rice cakes all processed. Baked potatoes, chicken breast, etc. Beans are beautiful too. I prefer Anasazi beans but that's just because they taste better than pinto. They got kidney beans too. They taste like ****. But nevertheless, Beans, Chicken and some Brown Rice. Some brown rice is great. Or a bowl of oatmeal about 1/2 cup of oatmeal then throw in some Whey protein to get it up there.
No brown sugar, no butter. Irish Oatmeal baby.

Thanks for the tips. This is just what I needed. I thought rice cakes could have replaced rice, but I guess not. Oof, I am happy to hear that. The cheese was during my X-Factor cycle, as I had to eat some saturated fat. I will cut out the cheese as soon as I don't have anymore, as I dont wanna waste the stuff. So 14 rice cakes can be replaced with 2 baked potatoes? and I could just cut out the cheese as I am not really in love with cheese. I will eat what I have to. And I dont even like rice cakes, I just thought they were convenient low gi, but I guess not. For the shakes, I would like to keep the same, maybe cut it to 1 scoop each shake, and add 20 raw almonds spread during the day. Could that makes sense?

Thanks.

Not white potatoes, though sweet potatoes are a tasty and low-GI preferrable option. The rice cakes are def not a rice replacement man, pick up some long grain wild rice (my fav) to replace those. Cook a whole whack-load on Sundays for the rest of your week, cannot go wrong. I said cut the cheesestrings because they are proccessed cheese. Part-skim cheeses are great because they are healthy, and you are right, your body does need some saturated fats for hormone production, but 1-2 servings of the part-skim could fulfill that easily. Ideally, I would like to see you replace your shakes with a whole food source. Whey is great to supplement a diet already rich in natural, whole food protein sources, I just don't like it when it constitutes the entire protein intake for a certain meal.

Also I noticed the absence of green vegetables in your diet. What seperates the dedicated cat with an EXTREMELY good diet getting EXTREMELY good results is their attention to detail. Part of that is focusing on micronutrient values, like the vitamins, minerals, anitoxidants, etc., fruits and vegetables contain. Try to throw 2-3 servings of some broccoli or asparagus into your diet.

Basically cut ANYTHING processed. If you look down the list and just simply put in natural foods that's the best place to start. Our bodies just simply handle natural foods much better. Cut processed cheese, rice cakes, anything with preservatives, you name it. From there, make the subtle changes that'll turn you into a machine... keep the protein high, and adjust carbs/fat depending on your body handles them and if it's pre/post workout, etc. Throw meats, veggies, rice, potatoes where necessary. Dump in protein supps, vitamins and there ya go. I personally don't find a squat of difference between hi/low GI carbs, but if I start to say that too loud I'll get beat down by the crowd that vehemently disagrees. Natural foods with proper macros is going to get you most the way to where you need to be. And remember, you're damn 18.... EAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I do eat brocolli with my meat, twice a day. I buy them frozen, and put no salt spices on them. I boil my meat, and I think that instead of throwing out the rice cakes, I will eat only 3 before, and 4 after, instead of 14 a day. Yes I will cut the processed foods for sure, and I just am unable to cut out the whey. I work 60 hours a week, and gym on top of that. They are my sweet treat that keep cravings down, so I will make it like that until I run out. Ok?

Meal one: 1 cup oatmeal, 8 egg whites
Meal two: 1 cheestring, 1 banana, 1 scoop shake
Meal three(lunch) 6-8 oz ground turkey(extra lean), brocolli
Meal four: 1 apple, 1 scoop shake
Pre workout: 1 cup cottage cheese fat free, 4 rice cakes
During workout: Half of( 80 g gatorade, purple wraath, 2 scoops whey)
Post workout: Rest of the shake, 4 rice cakes
Meal five: 1 1/2 hrs after workout: 6-8 oz ground turkey, brocolli, 1 cup oatmeal, 8 egg whites
Meal six: Shake, 1 cup cottage cheese fat free

If that's ok, I will modify it tomorrow.

Oh! and add 20 almonds spread thourough the day also.
Peace

Mullet - I'm not sure if he's in high school or what. But - for some of us, shakes are a way of life due to schedules.

When you get to the real world and have people at work that like to droan on and on and on and on and on - your time to eat a full meal can be crimped. Not to mention the bosses don't like seeing 2 lunch breaks. (Everyone else thinks 3 meals a day...and perception can be huge in the work environment.) And, all day meetings that leave a few minute breaks here and there - a chicken breast can't be eaten (at least for me) in a few mins. but a shake with a pack of oatmeal can.

I was totally with you before I graduated college.
Now - I've seen shakes are the only way I'll really get enough protein in.

Nothing wrong with shakes. Just dont make them "too frequent" ya know?

IMO, eat before work, eat lunch, eat after work, and eat a dinner and/or late night snack. that's 4-5 meals and only one lunch break during work.

Have two loaded shakes (16 oz ff milk, 1 scoop protein, 1/2 raw oats blended) for those times at work you need to eat "something". That's only two shakes a day, and I don't know where the problem is. That totals 6-7 meals with only two of them semi-liquid (raw oats make it semi) and no interruptions at work. Nobody can harass you for downing a shake in 30 secs :)

So, I'm with you here.

Oh I know man. This is the only summer since I have been in Gr.10 (friend of my dad's, payed under the table when I was younger) where I have not worked a job at a Frac Sand Plant working 6 days on @ 14 hours, 4 days off. I believe that would qualify as "real world" hours ;) . Yet the years I was lifting, I found ways to sneak in whole foods, I have read your posts and with your job it is impossible and I can understand that. However, most people are not in that situation, and it is my opinion you should have the best diet possible, if it's possible.

I def. agree with the semi-whole food shakes 2x daily. Nothing wrong with that, just trying to point out they, ideally, should not make up 50% of your pro intake if you can avoid it.

Make a big ol sandwich on multi-grain bread chop it up into little pieces, throw on some fat-free mozarella. I eat new potatoes with cube steak every once inawhile. And throw in some ****ake mushrooms and beef broth. Usually cook up a crap load of that on sunday.

Well, I am in college right now, but I have a summer co-op program where I work 37.5 hrs plus I have a part time job arounf 20 hrs. a week. I really am busy. Haha. Is my diet ok for now until I run out of my "bad" food? Or I would have to add more?

Why not make a meal of it? 13.5oz/100g chicken breast w/4 slices of whole wheat bread, that's ~40-60g carb and ~30g protein and would take me around 2 minutes to chomp down.

13.5oz  ...I believe you meant 3.5oz, right?

Ziricote said:
bleh I dunno, we never use oz/lb in the UK. 100g, whatever that is in oz.
Well, here is where our system sucks.

Oz. is a unit of volume and gram is a unit of mass. So...yeah, with that being said somehow and someway you can approximate it to approximately 3.5oz despite the two different units.

Our system doesn't suck, it's American... we are superior!!

Just to clarify, its 3.5 oz = 100g. Ok, so I will add that to a pre-workout, maybe 45 minutes before, so I dont puke all over. I will just add 2 slices of bread and a 3.5 oz of chicken to the diet. Now I should be rollin' !
