Jim's Training to Become a Human Tank!

Disappointed with that fight. I still believe Pacquiao is the better fighter, and hate watching Mayweather run away for 12 rounds and win fights.

I wish judging wasn't scored the way it is in boxing, so that it actually made fighters have to stand toe-to-toe.

I agree, the fight wasn't too exciting. But, I didn't expect it to be; that's how Mayweather has fought for the better part of a decade. Pacman didn't let his hands go either.

My boy got another W on the undercard last night. Now 15-0.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I hate Mayweather. Well, that, and the fact that he's a real POS.

That was the outcome I expected, and the only way I figured Pacquiao had a chance was to score a KO. I had hoped that Pacman would be able to keep pressing enough that Mayweather wouldn't be able to do his usual ballet....

Training in the shed has officially begun, I'm just as small and weak as I thought I'd be (maybe even smaller and weaker!)

Anyway hit some upper work yesterday, mostly testing to see where I'm at for the coming training.

Bench: work to 205 x 3

Inc Bench: 52 x 8, 62 x 8 x 2

Strict OHP: 95 x 6 x 3, 95 x 4

Pull up: BW x 10 x 2, BW x 8

a1. Close Grip Cable Row: 100 x 12 x 4
a2. Cable V Bar Facepull: 50 x 15 x 4

Meh, not awful. Still working the rust off, hit a decently heavy 3 at bench and then moved to the hypertrophy work.

Today was a quick lower session

Back Squat: work to 255 x 2

Fronts: 165 x 5 x 3

Sore from yesterday so had issue with bar placement. Weights all felt extra heavy for the squatting, not surprising considering the considerable time away from training. Intending to do all of my work beltless for the majority of this "off season".

Planning some new training to meet some goals for this year, don't intend to compete in anything but a possible PL meet in December (same one I've done 2 years straight if they hold it again). Will probably make a new log this weekend to keep track of my ever evolving goals and progress....

Also, if any of you guys are thinking about competing in the Houston area; swing by my place. I've got a spare bed I can make up and a convenient gym location.

Last two days of training/testing down. Got some baseline numbers for next week.

Gonna toss the new log up probably tomorrow, but here's this Thursday/Friday.

Thursday, Upper.

Strict OHP: Work to 135 x 1
Push: 135 x 8

BB Curl: 65 x 10 x 3

b1. Band Pushdown: Purple x 12 x 3 (wide)
b2. DB curls: 20 x 15 x 3

Decent day I guess. Worked to a semi heavy single on OHP to see where I'm at, not too unhappy with it I guess. Push press blew, might could've done a few more but breathing was the major issue. Arm pump was terrible.

Today:

Deadlift: work to 315 x 1

Invalid Link Removed

Looked easier than it felt, decided to call it there and not take the risk of blowing something out.

GHR Hyperextension: Black x 10 x 2

Just trying to stay healthy with these mostly, got some blood to the erectors and PC in general.

I would hate to DL in those shorts. Looked like they dragged the whole way up.

I hear you on feeling heavy...
It did look fast though.

Now that you're situated and back in your multimillion dollar personal gym, things will move quickly for you.

Subbed. Idk how I've missed out.

Jealous of the shed set-up

He's been MIA for a while.

Hmm, I guess I really didn't notice any issue with it. Weight was probably light enough that it didn't matter....

I can neither confirm nor deny the cost of said facility.

Well, I don't know if MIA is the right word. I've still been following all of yalls logs. Just ain't been lifting any of these heavy ass weights.
