Jim's Training to Become a Human Tank!

Also, not much difference in the back at all.

Still can't squat without pain, and it feels about the same waking up today as it did yesterday.

Nice lil combo of stuff there. I bet you'll like MyoSynergy. ;)

Hopefully that back feels better soon man. :(

Back injuries suck man. Hopefully yours heals up faster than mine. I've been dealing with mine since last may/June I believe. Still bothers me everyday even after months of physical Theropy and no real answers.

Yeah, I don't want that at all....

I couldn't finish my workout yesterday because if it (OHP)

Yeah dude it's horrible. There's no way I could OHP unless maybe It was seated. Getting out of bed in the morning even sucks lol

You should see a new doctor.

I concur. As soon as I get the last Dr./ physical therapist paid off I'll entertain the idea lol. Even with bomb insurance several months of PT treatment twice a week ended up being expensive as fuk

So, my chiro is going to schedule me for an MRI. He said I should be getting a call tomorrow to set up a time, I didn't actually know that he could do that so that's pretty cool.

He said that since the treatment didn't help it's probably disc related. So.....bleh.

At least I have good insurance. (and before anyone says the VA, I haven't registered yet and it would take way longer than I'm willing to wait lol)

Good luck, best to find out anyways and treat from there.

I can only imagine, I've been sidelined by severe strains but nothing as bad as what you're experiencing.

Plenty of lifters get around severe back problems.

Got an MRI scheduled for Thursday (late morning), so we'll know what's up then.

As for right now, my training is obviously going to be changing. The only reason it hasn't thus far is that I didn't really expect the injury to hang around this long, so for now, I'll be moving into some higher volume work. I've lost about 15# since the injury (from a high of 210, down to 192) and it isn't the good kind of weight loss (if that even exists).

I'm thinking I'm going to go to a more BBing style split, so that I can train more than a couple of days a week. It's going to be primarily high volume stuff, I'm not sure how heavy I'll go at all, really. I guess as heavy as I can go without pain....

I may try some type of lower body work (probably BW lunges, GHR if it doesn't hurt, etc.). I'll try to do as much as I can as far as traction goes, with the equipment that I have.

That all really sucks. Hope the MRI comes back positive bro.

Good luck with MRI man. Almost no matter what you're going to be able to return to your former glory after some hard work an treatment. Knowing what you're dealing with is the first step of the battle. Focus on healing now then getting the strength back. It will be easier the second time around. I've been there and it sucks but I know you're not gona let it stop you.

Great detail! Thanks for sharing!

Lol tell us more broken man.

Back problems still?! Fix yourself. I've been getting back Into it, except these stupid fickle field exercises pissin me off. Let us know what the results of the mri are.

Lol, I've just never gotten an MRI before and it was a strange experience.

Also, did some hanging leg raises yesterday (traction) and my back was sore all day; but, it does feel pretty good today.

Lol, I'm working on it.

I don't get the results until tomorrow (my chiro said they would call him with them and he would call me). Hopefully, it's good(ish) news.

Are you seriously not out of ITC yet?!

Post 'em up and we'll diagnose you!

Also, in case I didn't mention either of these things.

1. Morning weight is back down to 188, and probably still dropping.

Haven't been this light in a while, and it pisses me off. It took a long time to get up to 210.

2. Recently started reading Paul Carter's Base Building book. I like it so far, and I like his writing style (and the fact that he knows a lot of ****). So I'll keep you all updated on that.

You'll be down to the 165s soon.

Got the MRI results a few minutes ago.

I've got a 6mm herniation of the L5--S1 pushing out to the right. So.....yeah.

Don't know what's going to happen with this.

Just tap it in, tap it in.

But seriously, that sucks.

Apparently, 6mm wouldn't be so bad if it was straight posterior.

But mine is herniated slightly to the right so it's impinging the S1 nerve root AND the L5 nerve root.

I'm going to call the ortho my chiro recommended and see what he recommends. Unfortunately, because it's toward the right I'm not sure what kind of traction I can do that will even help.
