Been slacking with the updates recently, haven't really been getting on AM as much as I used to (except for the occasional browsing while at work)....



Anyway, lifted on Thursday and it was a decent session.


RE Upper:

Swiss Bar Strict OHP: 125 x 8, 125 x 7, 125 x 8, 125 x 4 (smoked lol)

Inc. Bench: 135 x 10, 155 x 10 x 2 (really tried to focus on the pecs a little more with this one)

Catback Rows: Purple Band x 5 x 5

a1. WG Bench: 155 x 10 x 3
a2. High Lateral Raise: Red x 30 x 3

Swiss Bar Curls: 85 x 8 x 3 (these were HARD).


Had some fun with the new bar, I like it because it will allow me to simulate the press of the log until I can do a full log C+P. And, it absolutely wrecked my delts.


Then today I just did a little bit.


Supine Rows: BW x 15 x 2, BW x 11

PLanks: BW x 60sec x 3

nothing incredible, just did the assistance work I would normally do on a lower day (besides the lower stuff).

Yeah, I hurt my back/SIJ a few weeks before TSM and then jacked it up again at TSM.

Its a lot better now, but it is still stiff and sore after Training and in the AM, and there's still pain when I try to squat/DL/bent row.

I'm not bowling anymore lol, that was the last week of the league.

Which pisses me off lol. I feel like such a curl bro, and I almost don't know what to do with myself on the 2 day's I normally train lower body....

Had a pretty good training session today, the swiss bar is much harder than a regular BB and a log (for strict pressing out of the rack lol).

ME Upper

Swiss Strict OHP: 125 x 3, 145 x 2 (failed 3), 115 x 8

Inc. Bench: 165 x 10 x 2, 165 x 7

WG Pull-Up (dead hang): BW x 8 x 2, BW x 4 (20 total in as few sets as possible)

a1. Supine Row (focusing on the Upper Back): BW x 11, 12, 10
a2. CG Push-ups: BW x 30 x 2, BW x 25

Overall pretty good day, didn't have any discomfort today at all. Which might be good news.
 
Well that makes me feel better as I press a lot with the Swiss bar and can never get too heavy lol

Side note: pretty confident I broke a bone in my right foot two weeks ago and have been living on ibuprofene. (All American week ya know) hoping for an X-ray tomorrow.

I'm training out of my garage now, and that sucks about the foot. I actually hurt my back about 6 weeks ago and haven't been able to do anything but pressing since.

Time to get back on profile lol. Oh how I don't miss those days (the dimes and whatnot).

Back injuries are no joke. That's what took me out for a solid three months. Had to have a few epidural like a pregnant woman lol. Ps if you ever have to get one, those things hurt like a mother ****er after the local wears off
 
So I'm gonna finally update my training from this Thursday now. Everything felt alright, my back has been a little sore for the last 2 days or so. But, it didn't start after the training, so I think I just slept on it wrong.

Anyway, RE Upper.


High Inc. Bench: 165 x 5, 175 x 5 x 3, 175 x 4

Bench Press: 185 x 10, 205 x 4--185 x 6, 185 x 10

Dang, it's been a long time since I've done regular bench presses. These were with the pinkie on the ring.

Seated Band Row: AVG x 6 x 4

a1. Push-ups: BW x 27, 30, 30
a2. Rear Delt Pullapart: Black x 30 x 3

RG Curl: 65 x 10, 45 x 12 x 2

Pretty good day overall. The bench was feeling a little weak, but no surprise there after all of the incline volume.
 
So I accidentally slept through my alarms yesterday and missed my workout, so I made it up today.


ME Upper:


Strict OHP: 135 x 2, 145 x 2, 155 x 2, 165 x F, 160 x 0

Meh, not happy about this obviously. Strength just wasn't there today.

BTN OHP: 95 x 8, 115 x 8 x 2, 115 x 7

Crapped out right above my head on the last rep with 115. Overall not bad though, this really lit up my delts. Haven't done them in a long time.

Chest to Bar Pull-Ups: BW x 6, 5, 4

Hard.

a1. Facepulls: Red x 20, Black x 20 x 2
a2. Swiss Bar French Press: 55 x 15 x 3

These were good, got a solid pump too. I was dripping sweat all day today too. Really would've liked to get more out of the strict press, but the strength just wasn't there.

So this was Friday's RE Upper workout. I didn't have enough time to finish everything I wanted to do before leaving for work (although, all I missed was my bicep work so no big deal). Overall, it was a decent session.

Bench: 225 x 6 x 2, 225 x 4, 195 x 10

Crapped out on the last set of 225, no big deal though. The first set was pretty hard by itself. I haven't done a whole lot of regular benching so it felt weird at first, but wasn't too bad. No real arching (not like I would usually do anyway), and no leg drive for these.

Swiss Bar CG Bench: 125 x 10, 145 x 10

These are hard. Also, whoever decided the closest handle width was retarded. Neither me, or my wife, could even try to use those. They are way too close together, so I used the first set of neutral grip handles.

Swiss Bar Rows: 85 x 8 x 4

These actually hurt. It didn't hurt while doing the movement, but it hurt to pick up off of the ground and set up to do the rows. And now, my back has been killing me for the last 2 days. This **** is dumb. DUMB.

a1. Push-Ups: BW x 40, 30
a2. High Lat. Raise: Reds x 50 x 2

This sucked. Had a good pump throughout, and muscular endurance was pretty good. Obviously, I would have liked for my back to cooperate on the rows....

You think Swiss Bar is an OK replacement for log press when I don't have a log nearby at all?

You won't be able to simulate the clean with it, but as far as pressing out of the rack goes I think it's harder.

True. Find an old telephone pole that fell over, cut a piece off and make a log. That's how I got mine.

I remember EFS's site saying the handle spacing is the same on the bar as it is a log.

It depends on the log, and the handle, but they can be pretty similar.

It might not be harder to push press though, I've yet to try. But, I know it is way harder to strict press with.



Anyway....

Had another decent session today, would have liked a little more from the OHP but didn't miss any lifts so there is that.


ME Upper:

Seated OHP:

So the 165 was pretty easy, so I decided to keep going. When I unracked the 170 (at the top) I had an incredible amount of pain in my back so I racked and decided to call it with the easy 165.

KB Standing OHP:
53 x 10
53 x 10
53 x 5

LOL, these sucked. My shoulders were on fire, and I could barely even get the KBs to the rack position at the start of the 3rd set. I had to set these on my GHR and pick them up from there since I can't pick up anything with any kind of weight off of the ground.

Terrible. Triceps and pecs were pumped up. Had originally planned for 60 seconds, but that was a bit too ambitious.

Supine Row: BW x 15 x 3 (lats)

a1. Dynamic Push-Ups (2-3 seconds down, explode up): BW x 15 x 2, BW x 18
a2. Banded Front to Lateral Raise: Reds x 6 x 3 (6 front, 6 lateral)

These were fun, got a good pec pump and my shoulders were on fire with those banded raises. Got my chiro appointment Tuesday morning, so hopefully that makes a difference in what I am and am not able to do.

Starting a pretty solid stack next Tuesday as well with MyoSynergy, DCP 2.0, Endosurge Turbo, and planning on Formasurge for the last couple of weeks. :thumbsup:

Planned dosing:

DCP 2.0: 2 pre workout (fasted, ~10 AM), 2 before Lunch (empty stomach, ~5PM), 2 before bed (empty stomach, ~12 AM)
Endosurge Turbo: 2 pre workout (fasted ~10 AM), 2 with lunch (~5PM), 2 before bed (empty stomach, ~12 AM)
D-Pol: 3 Pre workout (fasted, ~10 AM), 3 with breakfast on non training days (~130PM)
Formasurge: 2 pumps applied to the upper back/shoulders after my morning shower (~12 PM), starting on week 4.

And that's it. Should have some different pre workouts rotating in (@bolt, I may be asking you some questions about some stuff I have on hand, same for the rest of you guys but I know bolt has experience with some of them). Planning to use Green Magnitude as my creatine (not the one pictured, that's my brothers tub).

So let's see how this pans out. Also, went to the chiropractor today. Not feeling a whole lot different right now, he said to give some light squatting a try in 24-48 hours so we'll see how that goes probably tomorrow.
