He nailed it. Once you get comfortable with the split, you can get very low under the implement. Now, if you're going to use the split jerk, OH walking lunges are an accessory for this lift. Once your elbows are locked, the hard part is going to be powering out of the hole once you get really low. OH lunges will help with that, and with finding your comfort zone in where the implement should be positioned in relation to your body when transitioning from the hole to a fully erect position.

Lol, Bob's a cool guy. Extremely motivated, he comes in every day to get personal training from the gym owner.

Yeah buddy! It's amazing what a ton of meat and not running long distance can do! Plus, there is no denying the power of the beard.

I'm uploading the HLR and LBC video so that you guys can see what those are, they're killers. Lots of volume and TUT for these two, the lateral raises will make your shoulders scream at you and the isolation/pump with the lying band curls are ridiculous.

Thats what that exercise is? Been doing that for a couple years now along with a lateral movement I call a cable chop. Words are cool. Me want more Palloff

Agreed. I can't wait for the weather to change so I can get outside and do some.

People try to over complicate exercises. Sometimes all you need is some heavy weight in your hands and to walk until you think you're going to die, then a little farther.

Had 1 drop with the last set at ~315'.


Load Race (keg/keg/sandbag/natural stone): 160/205/210 x 35', 160/205/210/215 x 35'


Terrible. With a real run the stone wouldn't have been loaded, it was sitting way too low. But, my sandbag pick up is way better than last time.

Man, crazy performance with the events. I really ought to do stuff like you're doing from time to time (well, except logs and stones, for now).

JM Deadlift + Front Squat Realization 10's Wave



DL: 190 x 5, 225 x 3, 265 x 1, 285 x 15 (No belt, Hook Grip for all but last 3, Video is uploading)

Probably took ~10 minutes between the 265 and 285 sets, trying to find the motivation to do it. Was shooting for 20 (because that is the cap for what I count over 10 lol) but I'm happy with a beltless 15 at that weight.

Front Squat: 195 x 5, 225 x 3, 255 x 7 (No belt)

Wanted 6, got 7. Was hoping to get 10 (just because) but it didn't feel like that was gonna happen. Watched it on video and the last rep looked like a had a jetpack strapped to my back lol, maybe should have tried for more.

a1. OH Lunge (less of a lunge, more just going to the bottom of my split jerk position): Bar x 10, 95 x 10, 135 x 8
a2. GHR: BW x 10 x 3

Those "Jerk Recoveries" (as Marshall called them) are stupid hard lol. Very unstable and awkward, so yeah, f*** you Dave.....

Good bit of forward lean on the front squats.
 
Dude these high reps are insane....straight beast mode to get through some of that. :eek:
