Jimothy's Back (and worse than ever)

It's always been my best lift by far. Honestly not convinced I could even deadlift that much today. Was always a good meet performance when I could match my squat with my deadlift, but that rarely happened. Live to fight another day and all that. This exchange made me laugh out loud. Maybe I should just cut back down for a meet as a 165 again and see if I can get an elite total lol. I think 500/300/500 would do it.
Looks like ~1,412 is what you need for a 460 DOTS under 165.

All of the old USPA Elite totals were what will give you a 460 DOTS coefficient in today’s world at the top of the weightclass.

You currently need a 470 to make Pro-Am meets in ABS.

These were basically the most legitimate standards we’ve ever had in Raw powerlifting.
What @Hyde is saying to you is that saying Back Squat is like saying Cis-Male, the prefix is not required. ;)
Right; it’s just the squat. Nobody, literally no one, is confused about what kind of squat you mean if you just say “squat”. It’s the standard.

We don’t call it a “car driver’s license”. You just say “driver’s license”. If you get something aside from the standard, like a CDL, then you add the specialty prefix.

thats true but to be fair they do call it a BUI if you're on a boat lol nobody asks about the UI you got that made your wife drive you to work for 6 months.

I feel like you’re really trying to major in the minors here instead of seeing the forest for the trees.

And boating is a verb. Car/back are nouns. Different use context

that would be sick but I'd be so confused if you hit 500/500 with only a 300 bench lol
Most likely outcome for me when I was competing was always going to be 500/300/500. Think my best ever showing at a meet was 450/275/475.

Was and still is the only time in my life that I have ever outdeadlifted my squat and still not quite sure how I did it.

Nevermind, that sounds too hard

solid numbers my dude. I'd be surprised if you did a meet prep though and didn't blow through that 275 if you are hitting 275 already at incline. my best pull is still only 485 which was at the time 120lbs higher than my squat. in 2026 my best pull, far less trained, is only 445 while my best squat is actually much higher at 375 so who knows. maybe I'm finally becoming more balanced lol.

I pulled 628 in comp when I also squat 518 for a PR. I weighed something like 238.

I pulled 635 this February when I squat 650, weighing mid 250s.

Squat & bench are much more about both size and skill, which require development.

I don’t really believe there’s anything to deadlift anymore beyond genetics/leverage, drugs, and a healthy enough back paired with grit. As in, good deadlifters are not necessarily skilled or developed lifters. They don’t need to develop much more muscle, and deadlifting isn’t as technical (even sumo, albeit more so).

550/315/550

Which sound doable at 181 maybe, but dang 165 is light
Yeah, I'd either have to lose a fair amount of muscle or be dick-skin lean and add a water cut to even hope to get into 165 again.

And not sure if those numbers contemplate using knee wraps or just sleeves, but if I need wraps, I'd have to start trying to learn how to best use those since I never really used them even when I was competing.

And even harder for me to hit those numbers without using some real androgens, which would make getting into that weight class even harder lol

No that’s raw. I mean, modern raw, not classic with wraps.

Wrapped Elite is actually usually only 22-33lbs more expected to get out of them, so realistically it’s technically easier for more skilled wrapped lifters who can get more out of them than that.

Yes, probably easier to be an Elite 181 if you could carry 16lbs more muscle.

There’s always a sweetspot for a frame in that regard. Statistically, at 5’10” I am optimized to total Elite in 242 according to a chart Sheiko produced after running numbers. I can get up to 260lbs jacked to the gills and still make a <20lb weightcut if I had to. That’s more than enough muscle to do 1,703. Hell I was poised to try to do that in March if I went 9/9, but pulled the quad 3rd squat.

You’re probably 181-198 depending on height. Again, weightclasses are secretly height classes at the top end.

I'm also 5'10" (some days they get me at 5'9" when I do my check-in, so I think I'm probably like 5'9" and some change and not truly 5'10"), so I really need to just be bigger all around.

I think you should do whatever motivates you out of your current funk. We are all here for it Sir!

Also when are you coming back down this way? We need to get another session in, or at least get in some hang out time!
Think we're flying down on Thanksgiving Day and flying back to NYC on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
