Didn't get a full workout in today but hit it pretty hard. One of the guys I will be working with was at the gym so we got to talking and I ran out of time. But I got some inside info on what to expect so it was worth it.

Start working 10 hour days tomorrow so I packed a few meals and a protein bar. Not sure how my breaks and lunch is going to play out so we will see. I will probably take tomorrow off from the gym, just because it is my first day and not sure how it will go.

Haha!! At work now. I'm allowed to eat when I have extra time, and an hour lunch. I've got 3 meals total in so far today. So on track :-)

No I went to school to be a PTA, so this is complete opposite of what I studied for haha.

Sorry about the lack of updates, I've worked almost 22 hours in the last 2 days. I didn't train Friday after work but did last night. I run my ass off at work so I wasn't sure how well I would do last night, it was leg day of all days!!

Here is how it went...

I could of easily hit 405 x 5 I just couldn't seem to get in the groove. I was unsteady from the time I unracked the weights until I finished my sets, crazy!

I felt the same unsteadiness in the rack you mentioned. Granted, will a lot less weight. Lol
 
Had that unsteadiness last Monday for my comp squats. It actually was an all around discouraging workout lol

Just got out of the gym tonight. We went to the local Y to lift tonight. I can see why I had gotten a membership to a different gym now. Not knocking the Y, but their gym equiptment sucks!

Anyway hit back and bis tonight. Switched up and did rack pulls again. Went a little heavier today, trying to work myself back into heavy weights. I still didn't go to failure, but hitting 405 for a few sets felt good.

Sweet pump tonight!! My upper back was very tight along with my bis. Had one of those pumps were I couldn't scratch the side of face hardly because my bis were so tight :D

Well it looks like I may have lost my lifting partner already. I explained to him the other day I may have to start lifting around 8:30 at night on most evenings. With my new job it looks like I won't be home until between 6:15 and 7 most nights. Well my kids start getting ready for bed at 8:30. So if I leave work and go to the gym there will be a lot of nights I may only see them for 30mins to maybe an hour. The other way I can come home, eat dinner with them, and when they start getting ready for bed or shortly after I can leave to hit the gym. Well at the time he was ok with it, but said he needed to talk with his wife. Tonight I reminded him about training tomorrow night, and his wife ( she was lifting to) spoke up and said 'Our bedtime is 9'... so back to lifting alone again. Really I don't mind, except when I need a spot. I can get in, put my headphones on, and get it done!!
I guess we will see what happens tomorrow night........
 
BTW I will be starting a Finaflex log on G8 and BCAA+SAA if any one wants to follow. I will probably just copy and paste from here to there and there to here either way, so you can follow one log and get info from both ;)

Always tough getting a workout partner that you can have the same schedule with. But I love training alone now after doing it for so long.
But you take the good with the bad. Got a job Good, lose a training partner Bad. I'll take the job!

Well it looks like it is going to be hit or miss with the workout partner. He texted me today at work and asked if we could take the day off and lift tomorrow. I told him I would go ahead and lift today, and we would just hit something different tomorrow evening. Come to find out his wife has to work out of town the next three days, which is why he wanted to wait. Needless to say I went tonight anyway. I justed started a new job, and have a family at home. I have got to get my self on a schedule and not be skipping days, or only going when it is convenient for him.


On with the workout. My shoulder had been bothering me whenever I go above 300 so instead of a 10 x 3 on my bench I went with 5x5 with lower weights. No spotter but I still felt pretty good.

Not sure on my weight as i haven't weighed in a few days. I did want to mention I started SD at 20mg/day Sunday. I will run it from 3 to 5 weeks depending on the sides. I haven't ever ran it so we will see ;) I have been holding around 206-208lbs.

Finally got back to 405 x 5 with good form and not failing. I knew I could because I maxed at 505lbs a month ago. With my new job and being on my feet a good part of the day, I just haven't felt comfortable under a lot of weight. Not that it is to heavy, more that my legs are already somewhat fatigued when I get there.

Going to weigh myself in the morning and see where I am at. I am going to try to start getting a 5th meal in every day, if not at least an oats/protein shake for the extra cals.
 
With being on your feet all day that extra meal (even if just oat/shake) can't hurt. Heavy workout... gotta like it.

Yes, anything has got to help. I have noticed my hunger increasing too, so it makes it easier to eat more when I need to.

Man you will get there, just keep pushing it. I seem to really be able to push my squats when I am doing a strength program, but it does drop back some when I start doing more hypertrophy work.
 
So this week will only be my 5th week on this routine but think this will be my last week. Hitting everything heavy twice a week is starting to effect my joints. My knees have been aching and have been having problems with my shoulder. Not sure what routine I will go to next week but I would like a 2 on, 1 off, 2 on, 1 off routine to follow. And geared more toward hypertrophy than strength. I'm limited on the number of weeks I have left to build and need to take full advantage of them, plus the SD should help some ;)
 
Yeah 3 days in a row is pretty much the max for me before it starts to affect my joints and recovery.

Speaking of, we are going to start the John Meadows Reactive Pump Program Monday. Just by looking over it, it is completely different than what I have been doing, so it should spark some new growth.

Also weighed myself this morning and am up to 210. Hopefully I keep putting some size on. I'll post updated pics in a few weeks..

On a different note I may drop the SD. I have been noticing as the day goes on I think my blood pressure goes up. My face and ears get red with slight anxiety. I haven't checked my BP, but I can tell something isn't right...
For now I will drop the dosage to 10mg, just preworkout and I started taking Hawthorne berry to see if it helps. If so I will up the dosage again.
 
Stop in at the drugstore and check it. But sit for a few minutes before doing the test as it will be elevated just from walking around.

Edit: Also I did not find Hawthorne did much for me when I was on.. I was told to take an aspirin before bed each night.. within 3 days blood pressure was normal.

Bumping test e up to 750/week this week.


Reactive Pump is deffinately intense !! Leg day was for sure. Here is how it went...

Leg Curls-
4 sets of 8, with 25 partials after last set
130 x 8
150 x 8
170 x 8
180 x 8 then finish with 25 partials.
Already lit up my hammies!!

Squats- Explosive reps, 6 sets of 6, supposed to be with chains, but don't have any. I am thinking about picking up some soon though.
225 6 x 6
I paused at the bottom to take any rebound out of it, and then powered up.I should of went a little heavier, because the bar was actually liftin a little at the top of my rep from powering up so quick.

Leg Press with escalating set - 16 reps, adding a 25lb plate on each side after each 4 reps
So it went , 6 plates total, 4 reps then lock out knees and add 2 25's, then 4 more reps then add 2 25's. We did this 3 times, then finished off the last 4 of the 16 reps with 3 25's on each side.
The weight wasn't too bad, but the hold between sets to add weight sucked!! haha

Leg extensions- Reps 10,15 with 2 sec holds in full contraction for each rep. Then 20 reps with no holds, then stand for 5 sec then do 15 partials

Between the holds and partials I could literally feel the burn clear down the side of my legs!! It was crazy intense!

DB stiff leg deadlift- 2 sets 15
75's 2 x 15

Calf raises in leg press- 2 sets 30 with a 10 sec hold after each 10 reps, after each 30 rep set you stand up and dorsiflex your ankle to failure
6 plates- 10 reps/hold for 10 sec, then 10 reps/hold for 10 sec, then 10 reps/hold for 10 sec
repeat but with only 4 plates.


I have been doing more of a strength routine, and after tonight I am sure I won't be able to walk tomorrow!! Crazy pump and burn tonight!!!

It's going pretty good. Long hours but the day usually goes by pretty quick. We just had a salesman quit so we are down to 4 now. The way it looked today they are going to speed up my training to get me on the floor a little quicker. The lot I am at sells between 180-200 cars a month, so we are busy busy now!!
 
I mixed a scoop of BCAA/SAA with a scoop of Fruit Punch Karbolyn and drank it during my workout tonight. Talk about a strong taste/flavor!! I just about need a gallon jug to mix it in haha.

Tonight workout was Chest and shoulders

Slight Incline DB press- 4 sets of 8/ 1 sec contraction at top, with 2 25lb plates under the front of the bench to give it an incline.

95's x 8

Explosive Bench- 5 sets 5, Stop bar on chest for 1 sec then explode up
245 5 x 5
Went a little heavy on this. The weight wasn't bad, it just didn't feel like I was moving the bar as fast as i should have been.

Slight incline BB press- 3 sets 6, no lock out and do not touch chest, Constant tension
185 3 x 6
These were just the opposite, I should of went a little heavier although I did get a good pump.

Ladder Push-ups- These were done with no rest between settings.

I literally failed on the last set and couldn't push myself back up away from the bar!!!

I had to quit at 50 reps on the first set and pause for 10 secs before finishing them.

I was supposed to do Cage press tonight too but there is no way I could of. I am almost going to have to stop doing chest and shoulders on the same day, the pump is so painful in my shoulders I can't hardly finish my workouts!! They were bad enough tonight, after I got home they still were burning!! (15mins later)

Meadows always pairs Chest and Shoulders together and typically twice a week (heavy day + a pump day). It is intense but works really well.

My shoulders have always grown quicker than anything, so I may ease back on them some and hit my chest a little harder. I'll see how it goes tomorrow night.
