Lots of great information and discussion here. Im going to throw my 2 cents in.
TRT is for medical purposes, it is for clinically low testosterone AND symptoms that indicate the levels are not adequate for the individual. If the numbers are not low and there are symptoms the answer is NOT TRT until all other options have been explored. I had levels of about 400 at age 32 with mild symptoms, which i mostly attributed to lifestyle. Over the next 5 years those levels dropped to 300 and the symptoms got BAD, zero sex drive, lethargy, fluctuating weight, lots of crankiness and anxiety. TOok a year of trying on my own before seeing an endo and starting injections.
Performance enhancement or anti aging is NOT TRT. There are a lot of protocols that are not TRT and involve ridiculous doses like 250+ mg per week. At 100 mg a week split into 2 doses i am at 450-500 at the trough, and 900+ at the peak. I know results are very individual, but seeking to get above and beyond the normal human range is no longer replacement, its enhancement. I do not have a problem with enhancement and anti aging therapy, however it causes a lot of problems for those that are on TRT due to medical and real reasons under our current war on drugs hysteria in this country. I would like to see "steroids" taken off the federal schedule of controlled substances and go back to just need a prescription to utilize, what we each want to do with our bodies should be personal decisions made with medical guidance and NOT involve meddlesome government intervention.
