Intra-Aid: My First Experience

first time experience with Intra-Aid last night.
ran the "big picture" stack... ST, Intra-Aid, Torrent

first impressions:
Intra-Aid mixed very well and goes down very cleanly.
not heavy at all.
i mixed about 1.5 scoops w/ a full Universal shaker (a little over 25oz of cold water)
i had good stamina and my pump was excellent.
i did the FST-7 method for legs and they were extremely pumped.
i could feel the BA working. had the "flush" (or itchiness for me) referred to as "the tingles"

i have to be honest, i was totally thrilled with the taste...
it isn't bad, by any means... it's just maybe lacking, a bite?
the flavor begs to be mixed!!!
thinking about adding a little Gatorade powder (grape), or EAA Nitro, or Grape Storm.
i'm thinking grape because that will give it that "bite", you know?
maybe some juicy watermelon EAA Stack?

anyway, overall very good 1st experience...
i'll keep you all posted in my Pump vs. ST log (will be adding Intra-Aid info).

Nice Joe. I've been mixing mine with EAA Nitro and it is incredible. It also mixed nice with Grape ST.

I hit it with the Juicy Watermelon EAA Stack, last night... It definitely didn't disappoint!!!
 
Almost giddy eh U? It's fun. And supplements really do help give us that edge. No reason we can't enjoy using them and sharing information about them.

i'm excitied about backing off on the cardio a little bit so that i can G-R-O-W.

it's funny U Rep... i was excited about Intra-Aid because it's a rather comprehensive intra-wo supp and with it,
i really don't need to be a "mad scientist" and mix up my own concoctions anymore.

then, i tried Intra-Aid (and like it) and now i can't wait to mix it with grape Storm, EAA Nitro, EAA Stack watermelon, etc...

maybe i just have a mixing fascination with mixing? :fool2: haha
 
Well, as promised, today I’m reviewing my “Intra-Aid Meets EAA Stack” mix. Others have already reviewed this combo with great success, so I’m not the first. Why these two? I’m a big fan of EAAs and have been for a long while now. It first started with Animal Nitro, then eventually worked it’s way to watermelon EAA Stack, my current favorite. Figured, why not mix ‘em both? Intra-Aid and EAA Stack? So here it goes…

First, the formula. As some know, I’ve been pretty much running two scoops of Intra-Aid on account of my size and training style. It’s pretty much the same, 2 scoops with about 55 oz. of cold water. Today, I threw in about 5g of EAA Stack Watermelon. If ya know me, I’m not a fan of mega-dosing free form aminos. While I do think you can benefit from more, I tend to use free form EAAs for very, very specialized purposes. Plus, I didn’t want the watermelon flavor to overpower the blue raz.

I pre-made the drink and I tossed it in the freezer before heading to the gym. When I pulled it out, it wasn’t frozen, but it was def frosty (no not slurpee yet, that’s coming). First sip… I’ll be really honest here. It was great. Now I really do like Intra-Aid by itself. And yeah, I did like the combo of BCAA Stack/Intra-Aid. But I gotta say, this combo of Intra-Aid/EAA Stack is awesome. For some reason, even though I’m using the same amount of water, the EAA Stack seems to make the drink even lighter and more refereshing--it cuts a certain element that’s in the Intra-Aid alone.

Ever have that really ripe, really sweet watermelon in the summer? So sweet it’s like pure sugar? Well this drink ain’t like that. It’s def not as sweet. It’s more like when you eat that really sweet, ripe watermelon and you get closer to the rind… That kinda flavor. I personally love it. Color wise, it’s a darker blue than Intra-Aid alone. Smell-wise, the smell of watermelon is really strong, even at 5g. Today, I chased it with GAA Torrent. Very nice combo. Feeling pretty about things right now. Could be that it’s Friday, I dunno… That might have something to do with it. All in all, great workout, great pumps. Felt great to blast the delts, especially on my DB presses. Went heavier than normal, but I was feeling pretty stoked. I still think it’s too early to tell on the impact that Intra-Aid is having in the gym, but I think I can tell much more when I’m running. We shall see.

Quick update... I didn't do the "one the rocks" or the "slurpee" experiement yet. Yeah, I'm pretty lazy. However, I did accidentally leave my Intra-Aid drink in the freezer a little too long today. Guess what? It was partially frozen, leaving chunks of ice inside. So sure, it wasn't a slurpee. It wasn't on the rocks, but it did make for the coldest Intra-Aid yet... and I liked it. Best one for me yet. For anyone interested, give this a shot--mix everything up and leave it in the freezer until it starts to freeze up. Shake everything loose, and taste it. It's awesome.
 
I finally did the Slushy. Here are the pros and cons fellas...

Pros
It tastes even better than straight up, on the rocks or the freeze. In short--it is awesome.

Cons
The texture and thickness make it difficult to use during the workout. Ya know how you would drink a slushy with a straw? Well, imagine sipping on your Intra-Aid Slushy with a straw... On leg day.

Conclusion
In short, the Slushy is a great treat--for those of us who just like the flavor. Maybe something to reward yourself after a workout or other time of the day. But when lifting, go with straight up, freeze or on the rocks.

walked into my local supp store yesterday (to pick up some Omega) and saw a big tub of EAA Nitro on the shelf.
i've been out for a little while, so i figured i'd splurge and pick it up.
went straight to the gym from there and threw a scoop of that into my shaker that already had a scoop of IA.

i'm a huge fan of EAA Nitro (Nitro G) and i gotta tell you guys...
that grape flavor is just what IA needed for me.
it was the best combo i've done so far.

Joe, that was the first mix I tried and I still do it. Unless I'm mistaken I think you are only the second person I've seen try this? It makes one hell of an ugly colored beverage but who cares, it tastes great and it's complete body fuel for the workout! My favorite mix to date is 2 scoops IA to 1 scoop EAA Nitro mixed in 60 to 64 oz of water. Good stuff my man :)

You gotta use a big jug! LOL! A half gallon Iced Tea container is perfect.

The EAA watermelon w/ IA is always a plus... was using that since day 2 of my IA experiences.... :drool:

I've got to have my EAA Stack... Wonder if they'd consider trying a blue raz version to mix with intra-aid...
i was just re-reading this page and saw md's post and it got me thinking...
what about watermelon Intra-Aid???
if UN could make IA with the same flavor as (or similar to) watermelon EAA Stack... whoa. :jaw:

Thanks for the cover Joe. And if you want to keep the ratio but not mix up as much Purple Drank then just scale it down. 1 scoop IA to 1/2 scoop EAA Nitro in 32 oz of water would be half.

~7-10g EAAs (best guess)

Shaker cup, shaken (not stirred).

Taste: 8/10
Results: 9/10

I felt the mixture was a bit too thick. Knowing that I prefer 25-30 oz of cold water just for the Intra-Aid, I should have added more water as I was adding 1/2 of EAA Nitro. Still, I gotta say it was really good. Next time, I'm going with 30-35 oz of water.

I can't honestly tell if the extra EAAs and CHO from the EAA Nitro made a difference, but it felt like it. This is a solid combo.

For sure U. Try upping the water like you say. I would not go with anything less than 32 oz for that and more depending on the workout. Also another one that likes to be very cold.

On tap for today... Shock Therapy punch 1/2 dose, Intra-Aid 3/4 dose, EAA Nitro 1/4 dose, 5g EAA Stack Watermelon with approximately 27 oz of water.

Last time I did a full dose of Intra-Aid with extra EAA Nitro and my regular water, and it was too thick for me. I didn't account for the EAA Nitro in the mix... That's why I'm going with 3/4 Intra-Aid and 1/4 EAA Nitro. Shock I threw in cuz it was lying around... The entire mix went into the freezer for my regular hour or so.

Taste? I'm now convinced throwing in EAA Stack Watermelon will make anything taste great. The EAA Nitro really "softens" the whole drink, and the EAA Stack adds a kind of "cripsness". All in all, a great tasting drink mix to use as a kind of warmup because of the Shock... Drink this 30-60 minutes before, and then during, drink more Intra-Aid + EAA Nitro + EAA Stack.

Even with 1/2 Shock, I could feel it--and it wasn't rough around the edges. Aside from caffeine, I ain't no stim junkie. Actually, I'm pretty sensitive, so... All in all, solid workout, solid drinks.

I use a half gallon tea jug bro or just use 2 shaker cups. Mix it all up in one mixer cup, pour into the second cup until you have equal in both cups, fill up with cold water.

I mix it in a galon jug so I dont have to refil... let it set in the fridge over night and I'm good to go the next day.

Larger "mixboy" would be killer!

I use a 1:1 ration... because I'm a big time grape fan!
