Insulin Use

I know you usually cycle slin 4 weeks on/4 off and so on. But lets say I did it just twice a week (at only 5iu pwo). Would there be a risk of turning diabetic or is this just a small maintainable dose.

Any helps appreciated!!!!

What insulin are you taking? For certain you don't ever want to use insulin too long if you're not diabetic, you risk becoming insulin resistent and then your are in big big trouble!

Im not a dietetic (my father is), but im taking 5iu of humalog (i think). I know its the fastest acting type of slin...

Humalog is a rapid insulin, you'll need to make sure you take at least 25 carbs per unit of insulin unit. it will start acting within 30 minutes and peak around an hour. Personally I only got fat off this insulin and I work out really hard.

some foods will suprise you, potatoes actually have a higher glucose level than actual sugar. Any sugar in food will absord instantly, but some foods like potatoes, rice, bread, oatmeal will take a while, even up to 2hours. All carbs turn to sugar, except fiber so subtract that from the number of carbs on labels and you will have your carb count for insulin intake. Also watch alcohol intake with insulin, it can get messy.

Insulin can kill you if you're not very careful. You should read the stickies in the IGF-1 section. Personally, I would not use insulin because I cant justify the risk for the benefits. There are different mixtures of Humaolg that are fast/intermediate acting. Fast acting, short duration are the only thing you would want to use. Humulin-R is the only insulin that I would even consider, and it can be bought OTC at the pharmacy counter in some states.

I agree with LilPsychotic, it's not worth the risk. Before you think of attempting using insulin, get a small tube of cake decorating gel and keep it in your pocket. in cause you feel your blood sugar is low. I was scary low once and it came on too quick, felt light headed, then I started cold sweating all over even my legs were soaking with sweat. I couldn't even speak and say help! I was going into shock. Carry the cake gel it might save your life!

the reason u got fat is becasue you took 25g of carbs per iu. 10g per iu is completely sufficient. To many carbs = getting fat.

My doctor just switched me to humalog and I started packing on pounds, Novalog novalog, novalin and lantis never did this to me, my friend is on humalog as well, and he got real fat. As far as carb count goes I wanted to advise a high enough intake prevent hypo.

oh, you are actually diabetic? hmm, well then this is tottally different. The results you get are going to be very different than teh results a non-diabetic would get. But for bb'ing purposes 10iu is plenty, if your not familiar with slin than mabye a little more the first few times but in all honesty the reason most guys get fat from slin is because they are afraid of the ill effects and go overboard with the carbs.

there is actually a really informative, ongoing thread over at pm on slin. Some real knowledgeable bros have chimed in. If i get motivated i will post a link.

exactly.. dude 25gs of carbs per iu is ludicrous... 10gs per iu is usually what people like to start out at and then adjust from there

Wow, thanks alot guys alot of feedback. FYI, I take dextrose pwo with protien.

I basically have the shake ready before I pin. My fathers a diabetic and ive had to feed him oj while he was lying on the floor..... I dont take this **** lightly.

But horrible memories aside lol (my dads alive and well) I thank everybody for the info.

I think taking slin is a big waste of time and the potential for death if you dont know what you are doing is real. If you are not a diabetic your body will produce the amount on insulin you need period. Whatever you eat your pancreas will make the perfect amount of insulin to push the sugar from the blood to your muscles. Injecting insulin will only cause your pancreas not to produce the same insulin you just injected, its a waste. Its not like test more is not better its dangerous. Leave it to the pro's and the very advanced users.

Trust me everyone reacts differently it's better to be safe and start out with a safe dosage that you can recover from quickly. Humalog took me weeks to get dailed in but once my body started to react to it properly I was able to increase the dosage safely.

good read... im about 2/3 of the way through it... ive never really heard of the concept of taking slin preworkout.. although it makes sense.. ive always heard after your workout is the way to go.. although i kind assumed the pros did used before and after
