Insulin and Synthol in Bodybuilding

I didnt realize this but it doesnt surprise me. Most pro bb'ers are probably doin the sport due to a drug addiction and narcissism.

When I say this, understand that I truly believe we're all addicted to SOMETHING and we're all narcissistic to SOME degree so no one is righteous, not one.

Back to original point - u aint in bodybuilding for the money, lol. You certainly aint doin it so u can eat 6000kcal every day either. So much about this sport just isnt convenient or fun at all. Overall it is fun but if the heart isnt pure, you'll continue in it for the wrong reasons much like the guys ya'll are talkin about.

Exactly. I am a firm believer that a nice handful of bodybuilders have started using AAS in their own personal life only due to the addictive personality issues. These guys are recreational drug users, drinkers, smokers etc.

Yes, bodybuilding is a "cheap mud puddle" of temporary satisfaction that we must go to war with.

I'm not against steroids anymore than I'm against alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, lol. Its the heart and intent behind the action that makes it a problem. However, if u take a "substance abuser's" substances away, he is still an abuser of something. He'll just find something else to get addicted to..maybe sex, maybe alcohol, maybe an individual..

We've gotta flush these kinds of issues out of bodybuilding if we want people to respect the sport.

I have heard about this before and the sad thing is people die from kidney or liver failure from taking all these recreational drugs along with steroids and then the media says they were a steroid abuser that died and it sends the wrong message. I've even heard rumors about party drugs being popular in some circles in competitive bodybuilding, ecstacy specifically. Also ketamine and nubaine used to be very popular, I believe Nasser mentioned that in an interview once.

Well thats always the kicker, its so normal for the media to spew "autopsy reports tested positive for steroid use" when these guys are using multitudes of recs every single day. Ive honestly met many people and MANY others whom I havnt met that if I were to say I did steroids, I would get a much worse reaction than saying I do coke, or possiby even heroin. Oh and something I completely forgot is Sleep meds. Always taking sleep meds. Ambien, lunestra etc to deal with insomnia. Then the Adderall came in the morning to reverse it. Just ridiculous.

Very good take on it. Like I said I try not to judge the individuals, but Ill never agree with it. As far as people (media, general polulation
) respecting the sport, It wont ever happen. There has been much too bad press. Hell if some kid walks into my gym with a 6 pack and defined arms people will whisper "hes probably taking steroids". Like are you F*cking kidding me LOL.

Yeah average people don't realize the dedication and work it takes to build any type of physique really. Best we can do is try to spread the message to people we know who think that that it's not all about roids, even if they are there sometimes.

It's like Dorian has said a million times if anyone could take steroids and look like Mr O everyone in the gym would look like him.

Exactly, and dont forget.. In mexico, thailand, germany and others you can purchase AAS over the counter at any time. Are the streets filled with 250lb shredded bodybuilders? nope. Not even close.

Wait the streets of Thailand aren't full of huge 5'0 bodybuilders?

I used to think this and I still think it's the case sometimes, but after watching some more recent interviews and learning a little more about just how much these guys eat I think the guts is just from food. I watched an interview recently with an amateur SHW BB who weighs 280 and he said while bulking he eats around 8-9000 calories a day. So in a cut I'd imagine he eats at least 5k, and I get a little distention at 4 to 4.5k so I can only imagine.

That's nuts! I remember watching one of the 24/7s on Manny Pacquiao and they interviewed his nutritionist. This guy said that in order for Pacquiao to maintain his weight due to his intense work outs he needs to eat 12,000+ calories a day!!! Now I can only imagine that pros eat way more than that. Or that the GH and Slin are allowing pros to consumer less food since the GH and slin put you in to protein synthesis?

That seems a lil BS, but it might have been while manny was still on the juice.

Pros don't eat more than that. Do you know how much 12kcal of real food is?

That's 40 full chicken breasts lol

Phil Heath reports 9k/day on his off season.

Probably half that during cutting. Most of us up to 200lbs probably eat at most 6k a day. I have to eat 4k to gain at 175ish so possibly 6k a day for me to get to 190's or better.

Correction just saw the episode still on my dvr he eats 7,000 a day my bad lol

I could see the larger bodybuilders in times past that ate 10K+ calories.

Ronnie comes to mind. Just depends on their particular metabolism I guess.
