Injectable B12

I had an old coworker whose wife worked at a B12 clinic. He swore it worked but I'm not paying over a $100 a month for some shots.

Lol.. that is crazy! B12 can be imported easily from international pharmacies without a prescription.

Hmm. I looked and I think it's not the injectable form.

This is CEM-MESO which is still CEM. I purchased from RUI during fat tuesday sale ($13.99 a vial) (which I think is CEM's sister company or same company, but I am not sure.)

I personally did not notice anything from injectable B12 when I tried it a while back. On my most recent labs I had high (over normal range) B12 so this may explain why I didn't notice anything from additional injectable administration.

I think you are correct

I've been doing some research and discovered that when you start B12 injections, you should do a loading phase. 1000mcg per day for 7 consecutive days and then 1000mcg twice per week going forward. And you should feel results after 4-5 days if you are B12 deficient .

Interesting, I have never heard that before. I suppose if someone were significantly deficient then loading could help them get levels up quicker.

Actually, I talked to a doctor about loading vitamins and he said it is not necessary and that you will only benefit if you are truly deficient.

Funny I posted in this as I found this weak I am anemic. I will know more on Monday following additional test. I don't believe it to be b12.

Interesting thread!
I'm not B12 deficient but have a degenerative neuro condition that necessitates the supplementation of B12. I've not had B12 shots, but have tried various orals & have been tested showing elevated levels using Solgar sublingual methylcobalamin, 5000mcg dosed 1x daily. I have also sold 1000mcg of the same to a customer to assist with an overactive nervous response he gets after training (twitch, mild hand shakes) & it settles him immediately.

Yes and no. That depends on the compound & a myriad of other factors influencing it's uptake, processing & any cofactors required. Also, as minerals are used in various processes effectively targeting a specific function may require some fine tuning of dosing & timing.

Partial truth. In my case I am not deficient, and others like me may also not be, but front loading has the benefit of quickly elevating levels to an extent that (B12) levels are saturated quickly, ensuring smaller/less frequent doses are adequate to maintain elevated levels. The benefit of this being that my Myelin Sheath (& CNS as a whole) will always have access to B12, as is required for growth & repair.
Personally, I pay little attention when doctors talk nutrition & vitamin supplementation, unless they have some additional training in the area.

What gauge and size syringe do U guys use ???

I am using all 1ml syringe with either 31g (can't remember length but slightly shorter than 1/2") or 30g 1". It all depends on where I pin.

Hrm I should try this. I also get the shakes after very intense workouts but I take a tiny dose of hydrocortisone and it fixes it too. I supplement with HC for my adrenals daily though, as my adrenals are shot.

My adrenals are also shot. Last GP I went to about it said that adrenal fatigue wasn't a medical condition. Sigh...
I really like Jarrows Adrenal optimizer, it's slower than say Adrenosurge, but I've found it provides better results over an extended period, better & far cheaper than a bottle of herbal formula I received from a well educated friend & naturopath. Jarrows for the win.
Never even heard of HC, but it sounds scary!

Yeah I self treat my adrenals with just a supportive dose of hydrocortisone throughout the day. Doctors won't recognize it until it's full blown Addisons disease.

10mg upon waking
5 mg 3 hours later
5mg 3 hours after that
2.5mg then another 2.5mg

It mimics the natural release of cortisol throughout the day but just adds a small supportive dose. I also stress dose HC during periods of very high stress (which usually make me shaky but HC fixes that).

I remember Dr. Chrilser mentioning HC for adrenal fatigue quite some time ago. Maybe more docs are coming around to the idea?

Interesting. And here we are being told that cortisol release is bad for gains. Hmm. Too much...not enough...interesting. Thanks for the input :bigok:

Oh, and in no way should anyone have to wait until they develop Addisons before treatment is offered. That's just ludicrous!

This is a very small amount of cortisone I'm taking.

Interesting fact: if your cortisol is burnt out / running low, testosterone won't have as great of an effect, and thyroid hormone can not pass through cell membranes to become bioactive, it's almost useless at that point.

Cortisol is necessary for almost every process in the body.

What's detrimental for gains are huge dumps of cortisol, chronic stress, etc
