Infection? Start antibiotics?

I pinned by right bicep the other day and it is now a little pink (not red though). It is also a little warm to the touch. I've had infection in my arm before and it hurt and swelled so much I couldn't extend my arm. This time however it hurts very little.

Should I go ahead and start a course of antibiotics just to be safe? I currently have on hand Bactrim, Cipro and Keflex.

I thought to go ahead but then you always hear about people overusing antibiotics so I wanted to come here and ask someone more knowledgeable than myself to be sure.

First off, what does "the other day" mean? Two days? Five days? A week? Its a pretty relative part of the situation.

Also, just any antibiotic isnt going to cut it...you'll need something fairly strong if it is indeed the beginning of an abcess, so dont just go take something you have in your medicine cabinet....

The other day meant Monday. Sorry for not clarifying.

No the area is not getting bigger.

I've had this happen twice in the past and went to the doctor both times. Both times he gave me Bactrim and Cipro which cleared it up in a few days.
 
I generally like to err on the safe side with potential infections, and since you've already had two of these prior.....
