Increasing TRT for 12 weeks

I'm in my mid 30's and have been on TRT now for about a year and a half, prescribed by my family doctor. I started with the gel but switched to pinning Test-C about a year ago. Prior to starting TRT my total test was at 247 ng/dl. Over the course of the year we've upped the dose to get it higher with the highest being low 500's ng/dl. I just got bloods done about a month ago and free test was around 11 ng/dl. I'm currently prescribed and pinning 150mg Test-C every other week. I'm able to get my hands on extra and would like to increase to 150mg every week for a 12 (possibly 16 week) period.

My question is, during this 12 week period of weekly pinning are there any support supps I need to look into taking? Based off the doses I see everyone else running I feel like my dosage is pretty damn low so I'm thinking the sides should be minimal, if any... Ideally, I get myself somewhere in the 800-1000 range. Honestly, just looking for any thoughts or input.

my first question is why are you not 800-1100 on trt already ? i feel like your not getting full benefits and pinning every other week is terrible.

I’d assume due to the low dose I’m currently on. Hell, over this period of the year he started me at 100mg every 3 weeks, then upped it to every 2 weeks, then upped it to 150mg every 2 weeks. He’s an old school doctor and very slow moving with it all. Up until last week I’ve had to get bloods and visit with him every 2 months. Now he doesn’t want to see me back until September, so my plan is to do what I mentioned above and once finished, switch doctors.

And I agree, every other week isn’t ideal. Towards the back half of week 2 I’m back to dragging..

Increasing to 150 per week is going to be real TRT. The protocol they have you on is nonsense and you got to find yourself a better doctor because they're screwing with your life making you walk around with the testosterone levels of a 70-year-old man while you're 30

You should feel better and have more energy and maybe a higher sex drive but You may also find no performance benefit from increasing from 150 every other week to every single week and the reason I say this is because you're still in the range. My TRT is 150mg per week. I gotta bump up to 300-400 per week to notice a performance enhancement effect

At 57,100mg a week puts me at 750-800. 100mg is the max you can get in Canada for TRT btw. However I run 150-200mg year around. I pin at least 3 times a week to keep test levels stable and estrogen down.

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. And I agree on finding a new doctor. I have a referral in to a new doctor that two of my friends use and have any issues getting put on an adequate dose. My current doc is an old man that’s been in practice forever and basically thinks that now that I’m in between the 300-1000 that I’m good to go lol. I’m going to give this 150mg a week a try and then see where my bloods are at with the new doc and go from there.

Yeah, that does is nothing. Everyone I know is prescribed 140/week Test C to start and then usually up from there. I am at 160/wk.

An update on my journey above:

On 4/30 I switched myself from bi-weekly to weekly on 150mg Test-C. I also left my old family practitioner and switched to someone who specializes in TRT, with my first visit last week. He had me get bloods done on Saturday (5/31/25) and checked total test, estradiol, hemoglobin/hemoatocrit, hepatic function panel, etc. This was the first time I've had estradiol or any of the others checked (old doc never asked for it) but I'm glad to know this new guy is looking at all of this, as it matters.... Numbers came back as the following:

Testosterone = 1,250 (High)
Estradiol = 77 (High)
Hemoglobin = 16.6 (within range)
Hematocrit = 47.2 (within range)
Hepatic Function Panel = Bilirubin, ALT & AST all came in high, others were within range

He's going to give me a call sometime today to discuss my path forward but I can see on my online chart that he's already sent in an increase on my test so that I'm prescribed weekly instead of bi-weekly. He's also sent in a 90 supply of Anastrazole 1mg for the estrogen.

My guess is based off my total test being high he may lower my number a hair. He'd like to see me between 800-1000.

Oddly enough, even at a total test of 1,250 I don't feel like the hulk but I'm sure the increased estrogen is working hard against that.

Whether anyone cares to see all the above or not, who knows... However, I do appreciate the recommendations and words of encouragement to seek a new doc/specialist. It's definitely reassuring to have someone who understands this overseeing my path forward.

Update on the journey above. At this point it may just be for my own journaling lol:

Still on 150mg Test-C weekly + just finished Anastrazole 1mg EOD.

Long story short, as mentioned above, back in May I switched from my family doctor (who originally prescribed me the weak ass dose of TRT) to a Practitioner who specializes in TRT. Back when I switched to the Practitioner, dumb me forgot to cancel my 6 month TRT check up with my family doctor. So Wednesday I showed up to my family doctor thinking it was my yearly physical and instead was my TRT check up with bloodwork (that I forgot to cancel). Bloods came back today with a 1,330 ng/dl. I imagine I'll be getting a call from my family doctor today freaking out lol. The only other notable (out of range) numbers were:

Hemoglobin = 17.1 (should be between 11.5 & 17)
Mean Cell Hgb Conc = 35.4 (should be between 31 &35
Abs Lymph Auto = 3.5 (should be bewteen 0.5 & 3.2)

Wrap up: I feel great! Workouts have been great, strength continues to go up and body comp is honestly the best that it's ever been. I already had plans to drop my family doctor so I'm not real worried that he'll be calling soon and freaking out (because I know he will).. My follow up with my Practitioner who specializes in TRT is in December so I'll continue what I'm doing and let him determine my next steps at that time.

Thanks for listening.....

That's a shitload of anastrozole for 150mg's of test. Keep an eye on that.

If you don't mind me asking, what issues could I see from running it 1mg every other day with 150mg test? I haven't noticed anything yet as far as sides, but also want to know what to look out for..

My anaztrozole ran out at the beginning of September and it wasn't in the NP's plan to have me run it again, however, I randomly just got a message from my pharmacy yesterday saying that 90 more pills have been filled and are ready for pick up. It threw me off a bit because my NP hadn't followed up with me stating he wanted me to start again.. Regardless, I'm going to go pick it up just to have on hand.

It's not really a problem unless you crash your estrogen. It's more of an issue from low estrogen than it is an issue from the actual anti-estrogen. Exemestane is more forgiving then adex but if 1mg EOD keeps your e2 in a healthy range it's likely you will not have any significant problems. Estrogen plays a big role in lipid management.

That's why fat chicks don't have heart attacks as often as fat men. Then when they hit menopause they start having heart attacks

3.5mg's of anastrozle weekly would have my estrogen at a deficit. And every joint in my body would need to be oiled daily. But, if 1mg eod has you in range and feeling good, God bless. All of us are different in how and what we tolerate.

Late response but I appreciate all your guys feedback. Also, got a good laugh out of "That's why fat chicks don't have heart attacks as often as fat men. Then when they hit menopause they start having heart attacks"..

Kind of a side note as a cruise along until my December follow up, but I'm thinking about adding Retatrutide. I've done a lot of research & watched an embarrassing amount of videos/reviews on it and it seems like on a low dose it'd be nothing but beneficial. I'm more looking for the improved insulin sensitivity part of it and not so much for the food suppression. My plan is to start with 1mg twice a week and see where that takes me.

I know this isn't the peptide forum, but figured it'd make more sense to keep it with this log. Have any of you guys ran reta and if so, did you see it as a benefit for lean muscle building?

I have clients using it, no it doesn't build muscle, but there's a lot of benefits. Im keeping ppl at low doses for about 2 months and then pull it for OTC options while they maintain there fat loss and then reintroducing Reta back at 1mg and starting over. The goal is to reap the benefits without having to keep upping the dose. So far its working

Exemestane is the preferred drug for estrogen management however you will likely get better results from splitting your dose up to twice weekly or even three times a week.

You could even lower your dose to 140 per week split up through the week.

This is a better outcome than polypharmacy

Update on the above:

Got bloodwork done this morning and I am now sitting at 1,660 ng/dl testosterone level. All other bloodwork came in at normal range. Gotta say, the difference between my beginning journey of 247 ng/dl, to the floating around in the 500's forever, to now this is a night and day difference (as it should be).. The only thing that concerns me a bit is my BP has always been around 120-130 over 80sh and my two most recent visits were around 137 and 138, so I'd like to bring that back down to a stable level.

My follow up with my current prescriber is Dec 4th so my guess is he may scale me back a bit which is fine. As long as I'm around 1000 with good markers I'll be happy.

Side note, the body transformation and added strength in these last 6 months has been awesome lol.
