IGF-1 injection questions

What are the chances of an abcess/infection from an IGF intra-muscular injection compared to steroids and how is that avoided? This is one thing that scares me as I have only ever done sub-q injections.
 
As long as everything is clean and sterile, you're good to go.

I've been injecting myself with various substances for 15 years and never had a problem (knock on wood).

I am extremely careful. My hands are freshly washed with anit-bacterial soap, I apply rubbing alcohol liberaly to the area to be injected, wash the tops of the vials with alcohol, etc...
