IF while on AAS

I'm cutting atm while on cycle and I was thinking... wouldn't intermittent fasting be more effective while on aas due to nutrient partitioning. In the short feeding window you have on IF you wouldn't put as much fat on because of it... Does this hold up? I mean, do you put fat on in the feeding window otherwise or does it all get used up?

Aynway, anybody ever did IF while on cycle and noticed substantially better results in comparison to normal cutting?

I would guess IF would be less than ideal on cycle. Seems like the nutrient partioning benefit would lead to low blood sugar when fasting. And being on cycle puts you in an anabolic state all the time so id think feeding more often would be better. Just my thought.

Hm yeah, you got a point there. But maybe that's better for recomping and not straight up cutting...? Might also depend on the substance. Like 20mg SD might be hard to tolerate fasted for 16h...

The only benefit would be the ability to reduce muscle loss if you went hardcore IF. If you are talking about SD or any harsh oral, then the mood swings and side effects combined with fasting would be rather harsh.

Mood swings because of fasting? Didn't think about that one tbh.

Being moody and starving at the same time definitely sucks. Sort of want to just eat the kids.

This is pretty much spot on as the steroid will enhance metabolism which will actually at high enough dosage make a person lose weight rather than gain. With less food you're enhancing this effect and while the steroids will help maintain its not optimal to gain.

The problem during a cut is that you might experience low blood sugar. The most ideal would be to keep bloodsugar stable both for wellbeing and for results.

It's fully possible to do IF and get great and faster results just not optimal.

Yeah, I guess there isn't a straight up answer. Depends on dosages and compounds being used. Like currently I am cutting with 350 T and 5mg SD :) The 5mg SD is making a huge difference without any noticeable sides. I think with this combo I could do IF. But I remember taking 20mg SD, that was like almost going into hypo when I didn't eat long enough.

I’m about to start a cycle and I’ve been utilizing IF. I’ve been debating on if I want to continue IF or go back to eating every 2-3 hours. Seems like you’d minimize muscle gains to a certain extent on IF.

You don't need to eat every so and so hour. Eating often is a good way for a beginner to grow but when you've dialed down your diet it's better to eat when you're hungry. If you feel deplathed you eat, if you feel bloated you might as well wait.

Oh you can. Compared to natural you have a huge advantage but it isn't optimal still.

For me it’s always been a battle to get enough calories in. So making myself eat every so often makes it more attainable. If I ate only when I was hungry I’d rarely eat or only eat at night after I smoke a doob.

It's not so much about being hungry but feeling the need of food. Often we eat while digesting another meal

If that’s actually you in that picture, I’ll treat what you say as gospel. Haha

Haha well I believe people react differently to food but I do believe in listening to your body. As long as you get the calorie intake you're golden, when you eat is not as important and shove yourself with food because you woke up late one day isn't really a good feeling.

If your body says (I cant eat anymore) it's probably good to wait an hour or so.

You know, there is some logic to this. If I stuff myself on a bulk my digestion goes bad. But also it's really hard for me to stuff my self with food. So there is a balance between force feeding and listening to your body.

Fuck bro, I can’t stop agreeing with you today.
I’m so tired of being plagued with old school bodybuilding dogma.
I started reading muscle and fitness it 1995 and it has screwed my head up to this day.
I have seen the exact same gains eating twice a day, only when hungry, and every 2.5 hours no matter how full I already am. It’s all the damn same as long as I hit my macros via myfitnesspal or whatever.

It’s all bullshit.
Eating carbs early in the day vs late in the day is bullshit.
30 grams of protein assimilated per 3 hours is bullshit.

IIFYM and IF simply opened my eyes to how ignorant I was, and while I don’t use either of them currently or exclusively, I see absolutely no difference on them vs any other methods of getting my usual 300grams of protein daily and enough carbs to either lose body fat or gain Mass.

This is especially true when taking PEDs in my opinion too.

Eating e3h does not add to gains. This has been proven with research not just once :) Layne Norton had some good info about this I remember and research that supports it.

im using it now ... used it before.. seems to work fine, but its probably not optimal for maintaining the mass. you might loose a little more than normal

The last decade or so has been magnificent for disproving and unlearning so much old school bodybuilding nonsense.

I literally still have to talk myself off the ledge every time I don’t have a shake during my “post workout window”
Too much muscle and fitness is bad for you.

To be honest I’ve never even really believed in “caloric necessity” the idea that at such and such weight you need such and such calories to maintain it. I still preach it because a beginner needs to do it that way before they’ve got themselves figured out.

When I was my largest and most aesthetic, narrowest waist, I was eating less than I was eating weighing only 160. It was all steroids. Also getting there, making the weight gain, that still took extra eating, but only by eating when I wasn’t hungry have I ever gotten fat.

The only old school adage I will ride or die by... is the idea that you need to eat less per sitting in order to not get a big gut. No overeating in one sitting.

Yeah force feeding or overeating just distresses the gut to much. I am not stuffing my face with food anymore. I force feed myself 2 months ago when I was on 20mg SD. The force feeding was more due to losing appetite bc of SD. If I wouldn't have done it, I would probably eat like 2k kcals a day, tops.

But when ever I force feed myslef I just got fat and my digestion went to shit. I think you need to gradually up the calories, so your metabolism gets used to it and starts developing the need for it (ghrelin, metabolism speed, ...). I'm no sport nutrition scientist, but I know how my body reacts and what just doesn't feel healthy.

I get it though, that having only short "bulking" periods kinda requires it though. Being in a mass phase for 6 to 12 months is different then only 6 to 12 weeks. A true 12 week bulking phase (useless without aas) will turn into a recomp if you wont stuff yourself with food IMO.

The Gentlemens agreement lol. I do think meal timing is a thing to some degree but it's highly exaggerated. I've never believed in eating and feel bad, the body won't be able to eat 5k calories a day if it's used to 2500, people like to rush things but if they can't I would advice to slowly increase and adapt the body.
