Weight water, glycogen, etc. There are way too many variables. I wouldn't go by a daily or bi daily weight. Too many factors can cause a fluctuation. Go by a weekly weigh in.
Did you change anything with your diet? Weight loss isn't going to always be linear, your body fluctuates quiet a bit with the amount of water you hold, and there are many other factors that could impact a slight increase in weight gain. Don't be too worried about it, the weight most likely isnt' permanent fat gain. Did you eat extra sodium this week? Do you count your calories?
Yeah, the night before I had a glass of Koolaid. All I've been drinking is water, so that could be it.
That shouldn't affect me too much, correct? I should be fine right?
Yeah don't sweat it! Koolaid shouldn't really have had that much of an impact, but everyone is different. Just go back to doing what you were doing and your body will adjust! Good luck with the progress!
So this is normal? I saw it and became pretty disheartened
Very normal.
Put it this way,
to gain 4 pounds of fat you had to eat about 14,000 calories above your normal maintenance diet
Unless you slipped up and "accidentally" ate 30 big macs, you're safe![]()

As said above - some people are best weighing in weekly. I weigh in multiple times a day, but that is just what works for me. My weight can fluctuate by 4-5 pounds depending on the situation at any point in the day. I once gained 10 pounds the morning after a cheat meal dinner. If it disheartens you, then you should weigh yourself weekly under the same situation. I put the most "weight" in what my scale says in the morning, after I urinate right after I wake up. So, maybe every Wednesday, you wake up, use the toilet, strip, weigh yourself.
For me, weighing multiple times/day gives me a respect for how much water and glycogen storage can effect weight. I mean, I drink 2 gallons of water/day and water weighs almost 8 pounds/gallon - so that is the potential for a 16 pound swing if I held it all in![]()
