Workout consisted of:
BB flat: 225x5, 135x25
DB flat: 65x12
DB Incline: 60x6.5, 60x6
Cable Cross: 35x8,25x15
Pull-up: Bwx8

Stats
Ht:5'8.5
Wt:166 Lbs

Why Its Hardcore
Not gonna lie, I could have done about 10-15 Reps with the first set of flat bench, but i made up for it with my other exercises. I blasted myself through this and ran a quadruple superset, literally. As you can see, I was quite winded and my upper body felt like a noodle. I went for intensity as well as rep/weight combination, not so much leaning towards weight or reps. Thanks for the consideration IFORCE!

Nice:thumbsup:

crazy. Bands AND chains? Um... that's a bit excessive in my opinion. Looks like he was about to break his arms off there lol
Excessive, maybe for some but not for the Hardcore! Seriously though the bands and chains both add different types of resistance to the bar. For example I have 225 on the which is about 55% of my one rep max for a full range press raw. I plan on competing with a single ply shirt so I am really try to train my lockout which ofcourse is stronger than off of my chest now. The bands and chains both overload the top of the movement, but the bands are trying to force the bar down on me so it trains me to control the bar and stay tight on the bench. Also the bands are giving me additional tension throughout the whole lift so its much harder to outrun the band tension by pressing fast like you could with the chains. The chains on the other hand have absolutely no effect on the weight for the bottom half of the motion, I have them set so that the resistance begins right around my usual sticking point. This way I am working with heavy weight around my sticking point to get it stronger but keeping the weight light enough for the effects of dynamic pressing. Its rare that I use both but its killer when I do.

Also whats all this " my arm looked like it was going to break stuff" , they are like steel girders lol no breaking under tension :bb3:

u know. i really do get enough of that from tex. dont need it from a guy hundreds of miles away. ive never dropped a weight on anyone or let them drop it on themselves so im obviously not fuhkin it up too bad. which one are you saying i was spotting improperly on tho? just curious plz

You should only ever have to spot the last repetition, IF required. If you need to be touching the bar or holding the elbows the entire way through a set for fear of them dropping it on themselves, then they shouldn't even be pushing that weight in the first place.

hey bud, if your not hardcore enough to push yourself through a set of near fails for 6 times in a row then maybe this thread isn't for you. he didn't need me the first few....but when you know you have a spotter and that your safe and can put your all into it....you do.

drummer boy,

Take a second and go back in the thread just a bit and watch Cubs vids. Thats all I am going to say about hardcore. This thread is about hardcore lifting, not hardcore spotting. You also seem to have a bit of an attitude about this, relax man. There are thousands of lifters many miles aways from you that you could obviously learn much from.

Hell Yeah, A lot of people think shirt benching is easy but that couldn't be further from the truth. I am just starting my shirted training and I can't wait to be able to touch and press with a good amount of weight. Right now I am pressing 410 unequipped so I am hoping to get a good carry over in my first meet coming up in Oct.

August 23rd, 2008:

Chest workout:
Incline DB Press - 70 * 25, 90 * 15, 105 * 12, 120 * 4, 110 * 6
Incline Hammer Machine Flyes - 70 * 15, 90 * 12, 110 * 5, 110 * 5
Decline Cable Crossovers - 60 * 25, 70 * 25, 80 * 20

This workout was proceeded by a max-day of Deadlifts;
135 * 15, 225 * 12, 315 * 10, 405 * 8, 495 * 4, 605 * 1 (NEW PERSONAL RECORD), 405 * 4

and followed the chest workout with some additional shoulder and arms touch-up work.

Why It's Hardcore?
- who walks in to the gym after four days off from training, slaps on two 45 lbs'ers or more for every weight increment on deads, maxes out @ 605 lbs (@ 6'3.75"), then continues on with 90-120 lbs dumbbells for incline presses, followed by two more chest exercises, then an all-out shoulder/bicep superset ?

- I do !

Yea Viking!!!:head:

Viking, I'm surprised you didn't have to wheelchair yourself out of that work out. That would have to be one of, if not, THE WORST deadlift form I have ever seen. But who cares?! It was over 600lbs! Who the fυck walks out that much weight? You crazy bastard!
