i feel chest much better when doing narrower grip dips

i tried doing wide grip dips with leaning forward and my power really decreased. i also didnt feel chest too much.

i switched to a little narrower grip (but still a bit wider than shoulder width) and my power really increased and also i felt much more stretch and chest work.

is this normal?
 
It's good when you can establish more feel in your target muscles. As long as you don't feel any stress on your joints, then you're good to go.
 
Everyone is hooked up a little differently. Do what works for you. If you feel it where you want to feel it, and it doesn't hurt, why would you change it, who cares what's normal?
