HUGE Brawl in the Fla International - Miami Game.

Notre Dame one of the best modern day programs????

NC doesn't mean anything for OSU.

I honestly dont even count that national championship, and i dont think most people do, those refs were sucked. I'm not one to blame refs but i take exception to that game, i used to be a huge cans fan and even though i'm not anymore since I go to UF, that game still drives me up the walls.

Gotta agree with you on that national championship comment gators...and I have been an OSU fan since I was a little kid. Miami just had an absolutely sick lineup that year. Not gonna hear me complain though

haha yea, at least Clarett contributed something to that school, and helped you win that NC. I dont know why but i feel sad for that guy. He sure messed his life up.

1. over 1k yards as a freshman on a national championship team

2. Challenges the rules, denied, can't go back to ohio state

3. Does who knows what for a year, comes back out of shape, still gets picked in the third round, signs an all incentive contract, doesn't make the team

4. Machine guns, Israeli mafia, etc.

He taught all the kids something...stay in school. I feel bad for him too, he was on top of the world essentially in college football one year, three years later he has no money and is fearing for his life. Can't say it wasn't his fault though

yo ce59, i know from this thread that your a USC fan but whats up with the pic of Rey Maualuga on your avatar?? i only ask because i played him and his team (the eureaka logers) our junior year in the section championchip game...

He can be a fantastic linebacker, USC predicts him to be the best in the country by next year. I haven't seen enough consistent play from him to even say he'll be the best on HIS TEAM next year. He's said to have a rage problem, he punched some frat boy out last year.. he slept in and got suspend for the first half of the Oregon State game.

Former college football players tell me that Rey is really having trouble calling the defense from his MLB position.

I don't know him personally, but he seems to be an okay guy... a lot of polynesian pride and hopes to make his deceased father proud of him. he's got some growing up to do, but he's shown signs of greatness this season (arkansas game - he was amazing and nebraska - he was pretty solid)

Yeah RD - but if it's L'ville and OSU* in the Fiesta - I'm a f*cking L'ville fan for the night!!

I don't think any team in the country besides Michigan can touch Ohio State. Penn State with Michael Robinson might have.

Yeah - you are right CED.
A rematch really would be the best game IMO. (Well - maybe the SEC champ...)

I don't think L'ville will give either OSU* or Mich a game in the Fiesta.

(Here's to hoping Buttgers beats L'ville next Thursday night...)

I'm taking Michigan to beat Ohio State, barely, so long as both teams are healthy. I liked Ohio States' defense better last year against this Michigan offense... off topic for this thread

game could come down to special teams. I think Gonzalez makes plays and Ginn does not, Michigan controls the ball enough and the crowd noise. If Santonio Holmes were still at OSU, I would take Ohio State.

Mike Hart has the most carries in the nation, you are right they could be tired

see that's where p_ssy-ass teams like Auburn have it right. Play a big game, the schedule Buffalo and play all non-starters.

nobody gets tired, nobody gets hurt. and the media kisses their ass

Yeah - I knew this year would look like that. I said in my 2006 prediction thread there would only be 1 undefeated team. Looks like I'll be pretty close (sans Boise State - who cares).

Not an Auburn fan by any stretch.....but,"whatever makes you feel better, man".

Week after week in the SEC IS enough. That's why 1-loss SEC teams get more respect than most mid-major undefeated programs get. Face it, the SEC is a "bloodbath" year in and year out.

Yes, I live in SEC country and it's obvious you don't. Everybody thinks their conferences are the toughest, but seriously, it's really difficult to honestly accuse the SEC of being easy.

I agree, also it's not just about records either. The SEC and Big 10 are two conferences that play tough football, both rely on defense and are very physical conferences. Conferences like the Pac 10 and others dont have the same style of play as the SEC and Big 10, there is normally more passing and more offense. I dont care what anyone says defensive games are 10 times more physical than a game where the score is 35-42. Another thing the SEC has more than any other conference is more rivalries, the top 5-6 teams are usually pretty competitive and those games are always great and even more physical. Those games are very draining on a team.

Innings,
That doesn't give SEC teams the right to go and schedule a bunch of directional schools - when Tenn. plays Miami and Cal the last 3-4 years.

Edit - I shouldn't say "right" but rather "free pass".

What does playing Miami prove these days?

Just kidding, man. Perhaps these teams could schedule one more "challenging game". Honestly, though, with the strength of the league and a conference championship game, they can schedule whomever they like.

What's really needed is a Postseason Top 8 Playoff.
"Don't hate the playa, hate the game."

BTW, I'm an Arkansas fan.

Nothing this year. We'll be back soone than later. We should return 18 of 22 starters (minus the punter and kicker) in '07. We'll have a tough schedule - at Oklahoma, FSU, and VaTech - but with a new coach it's not unreasonable for this team to contend for a BCS bowl/national tite.

Totally agree on the playoff - but that ain't happenining in your or my lifetimes.

PLEASE don't bump this thread - I'd rather not remember the Larry Coker debacle at Miami.

K?
