How to delete account?

How do you go about delteting your account on this forum? I cannot find an option under account information

pretty sure you can't - you can become inactive...but your account and your posts can't be removed from the forum...the forum is a repository of information - if people just deleted their accounts and removed portions of threads, then nothing in the forum would make sense, with holes in conversations.

You can ask to be banned. That would permanently remove you.

I've had posts be removed by contacting mods previously because I quoted information from a paper I wrote and didn't want to be able to tie my post here back to myself, or have my own paper get flagged for plagiarism for copying myself lol
