How to cut nicotine zyn out completely

I transitioned from dip to zyn ab 5 years ago. It’s generally do one can a day of 6mg. I am now trying to cut back to 30-50 mg vs 90mg a day. Obviously this long term isn’t good and want to scale back. However does anyone know of a safe altenatr pouch that has some notropics or similar dopamine without the harmful nicotine? The issue is I drive one hour a day to work and it’s when I get in the car, bored and stressed from a days work that I put one in. I generally don’t put anything in until afternoon. Hoping to hear some suggestions or similar stories who found a solution. Thanks

It's great that you're looking to cut back on your nicotine use and find a safer alternative. While I'm not aware of any specific pouches that contain nootropics or similar dopamine-boosting substances without nicotine, you might consider looking into herbal pouches or nicotine-free pouches that are designed to mimic the sensation of using tobacco pouches without the nicotine.
Additionally, finding alternative ways to cope with stress and boredom during your commute, such as listening to podcasts or audiobooks, practicing deep breathing exercises, or using stress-relief toys, could help reduce your reliance on nicotine pouches. It's also a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice and support on quitting nicotine.

why don't you start by just forcing yourself to buy the 3mg cans instead of the 6mg? or maybe next time you go in, grab a 6 and some 3s. I love your idea of nootropics in a dip type delivery system, I have no idea how the dosing would possibly complicate things, but sounds awesome.

my understanding is that straight nicotine may have some benefits (fights Alzheimer's etc) where as the delivery methods are what kill us (cigarettes, chewing tobacco), and the worst part of zyns would likely be the damage it could do the the gums and teeth.

I reserve the right to be wrong-

We got some samples of these last year. They have 30mg caffeine and 62.5mg Cognizin citicholine. Might be something to try.

at $10 a can they better be good lol.
But if it gets someone off nicotine then they'll probably go through these a lot slower as the habit dies down.
There are far cheaper non-nicotine non-tobacco pouches but these do have caffeine(cheap) and citicholine(not cheap as far as pouch ingredients go.) So there is that.

Smoking cigarettes on my rides to work was the hardest part about quitting, I tried so many different things to actually quit.I tried reducing nothing worked until I finally just stopped. Maybe i got lucky, but reducing the amounr never worked for me. Im sure dipping is just as tough.

☝ Ignore my other post lol, Smoking weed on your ride to work probably isn't a good idea🤣

they've been all but banned here in WA. You can of course buy them, but finding public smoking areas is not common. My wife and I have been watching Magic City lately and everyone is smoking the entire show. all I can think about is how bad everyone must smell lol.

but 20 years ago, you never thought twice about it. bars, restaurants, casinos, it was normal to smell it everywhere. now days we smell pot, but never smell cigs around here

Working a gas station 20 years ago Marlboro reds were $3.75. Of course, that was when I had to walk through 5 feet of snow both ways barefoot to get to work. My children will never understand the struggle….

Thanks for the advice. I also believe it causes massive fatigue. I use a can a day and believe it gives me a 15 minute buzz but I then feel groggy ? Assume that’s common from use of nicotine

Oh the good ol’ days! In so many ways. I will say that the only positive development in recent society is that our government finally got over marijuana. I mean sh*t. Most of the time I can barely even tell I smoked anything.

Then again, our youth are able to identify as animals and even inanimate objects.

I didn’t see any data stating it was bad for you and it’s non cancerous. And nicotine itself does have health benefits. What’s the problem?

my limited understanding is that we simply don't have a good delivery system. gum might be OK (less harsh on gums, lungs, etc) but is prohibitively expensive.

i used to use swedish snus(the dry white portion type. basicly it is pasturized tobacco instead of fermented like american version of dip. in return there is no salivation so you dont have to spit, flavors are better and less oral irritation. i kicked the habit because i started to feel lousy over time, when i stopped using i had withdrawal and was frowning constantly the 1st few days and had a sad feeling, then a week after that i had cravings for gummy fruit candy and would eat 5lb bags of candy every other day. weird how addiction works. have been clean for 3 years from snus..maybe a few cigars when i golf or fish or am at a summer party

Honestly I had never heard of them, so I had to look them up. From my understanding, this was developed to be a “safe” delivery method. But of course I didn’t dive too deep.

We should start offering these in the hospital! Smoking cessation and nicotine replacement are part of my job. By part of my job I mean I see the order come through and immediately delete it. We all do because none of the patients can hear us anyway and the encounter ends up making us all crave a few cigarettes.

Most hospital orders are for 21mg patches, sometimes you will see an occasional nicorette gum order if they have it available. Keeps the patients from throwing a tantrum from nicotine withdrawl and trying to leave AMA and pulling out their IV or for psych patients turning in to an involuntary commitment

Yeah, I can’t place the actual orders for nicotine replacement in the hospital, yet I am supposed to ask if they want to be signed up for outpatient tobacco cessation support. We have other higher priorities and nobody has cared that we really don’t do it anymore.

What about online shopping with delivery? For example, it seems to me that these nicocharge will deliver nicotine pads even to the North Pole.
