about how many calories do u think would be burned jogging about two miles in about 15 minutes, on flat pavement?
just wondering.

[your bodyweight in pounds]*1.5 would be a safe assumption.

The algorithms they use on treadmills is approximately [bodyweight]*0.75. Also, speed makes a negligable difference, so it doesn't really matter how quickly you can do it.

your saying body weight multiplied by 1.5? the logarithms part threw me off.
would this be right for example:150lbs. x 1.5 = 225 calories?

Algorithm, not logarithm. Invalid Link Removed

And yes, it would be about 225 Calories.

also depends on how much LBM so and so forth.

Oh, there's about a million different variables that will tweak the total number of calories burned (length of limbs, running form, bodytemperature, type of shoes, etc). This 0.75*distance*bodyweight trick isn't the most accurate thing in the world, but I think it makes a good rule of thumb

its close enough thanks for clarifying

Hey, glad I could help.

Calories are really such an insignificant amount of energy, a ballpark estimate will always suffice.
