How do I play music off my flash drive in my car?

Not a tech savy person at alll so I apolgize in advance for the retarded question. LOL

I have a ton of music on a flash drive. My new car has one of those AUX audio IN functions where you can plug in an IPOD, etc.

I dont have an IPod nor do I want one. I take my flash drive and play my music on computers so that suffices for me.

What adapters will be needed to play my flash drive thru this AUX/audio input?
 
i got a car deck that has a USB input, picked it up for around $200 and it works like a champ.. takes thumb drives, or external USB drives (laptop size)
 
I'll have to look into this, I don't know of any device off the top of my head that allows you connect a thumb drive via aux-in, but there are FM Tuner devices that allow you to hook up a thumb drive, and then tune the radio station to a specific station. The sound quality on FM Tuner devices is generally pretty poor though, and you have to fiddle with the stations sometimes because of interference.

The best options in my opinion would be to:

1) Install a different stereo head unit for your car that supports USB drives.

or

2) Get an mp3 player. Not all mp3 players are ipods, hell, I own 3 different ones and have never owned a damn ipod in my life (I think they're overpriced as hell and there are better options out there that use drag-and-drop interface rather than garbage itunes). Next one I'll probably buy is a Sansa Clip+. The thing supports drag-and-drop for transferring files, folder browsing on the device (so you don't have to worry about ID3 Tagging), and you can upgrade the space on it by using microSD cards in addition to the memory that's on the thing. Plus it's small as hell and clips onto your clothing, so it's great for the gym.
