Can an enzyme deficiency be cause of hypogonadism? Specifically a p450 enzyme deficiency. It is my understanding the the p450 enzyme converts cholesterol into pregnenolone then testosterone and others.
Since this condition affects all hormones, looking at cortisol, dhea, progesterone, etc... can help confirm it. A DNA test may be needed for conclusive confirmation.
