Holy Cro Cop?!?! Wtf?!

Well there is an upside to all these upsets. We know that they aren't throwing fights (don king effect)in the ufc yet. I know there is no way crocop would have taken a kick like that on purpose, it could have broke his friggin neck!

Theres thruth to that on some degree, I thought that Arlovski and Werdum fight was pretty equally matched, but there have been some creampuff fights.
 
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the machida fight. He looked really good, though he used his usual boring style for the first two rounds. Round three though, wow. He looked fantastic. He actually tried to finish the fight! Right now there's no way they'll give him a title shot because he's just not that exciting to watch, but if he can finish his next fight I think Dana will give him a go at it.

I have not seen this fight but in the past Machida was very smooth. His style is unique in that he seems able to score many shots without taking many in return. He definitely needs to start finishing fights.
 
I think Gonzaga is a talented guy and will be in the top 15 to 20 or so for a while. I worried Mirko might have trouble with him on the ground (def. didn't see the head kick comimg), but Mirko is a favorite of mine and I worry before any of them fight. He probably deserves more respect than people are giving him. His gameplan was great and sacrificed a no doubt painful mid kick to get the takedown and pound Mirko with elbows for 3 minutes. Mirko's usually impenetrable defense may have been weakened by this punishment. He looked out of the fight when he started eating elbows. Although, to some extent he looked out of the fight when Gonzaga didn't just stand there and take punishment.

I don't know where that lightning quick straight left was that punished Silva so much.

Dana's gotta be pissed. Investing huge sums of cash in Mirko and Heath Herring to them both get destroyed/look like crap. Machida hasn't been much of a draw either. Werdum wasn't so impressive. Rampage is his last hope, well maybe Nog too.
