Off Due to work Priorities and landed in hospital due to high blood pressure. Being released now as I type this. What a week. Initially went to Primary Care on Friday 5/17 for an object lodged in my ear. Moments later I’m driving to the hospital to be admitted through the weekend for hypertension. 242/140. Crazy.

My tits hurt just reading this. Nice work.

Dang good work. Glad your back. Ever find out what caused your blood pressure to get so high?

No, their checking. It’s always been high but not that high. They believe it’s genetic. I was one step from a stroke/heart attack. They immediately asked me to go to hospital and requested an ambulance ride. I refused and drove myself.

They then admitted me and took multiple viles of blood. Then measured my pressure continuously before giving me meds to control it. I had hypertension issues since I was in the Navy.

The Navy did a 10 day study, averaged it and said I was fine. Following that time period I moved to another part of Virginia where I had a nurse practitioner who then put me on meds but after we moved to Pa years later my new doctor changed the meds, then she left, a predecessor took over. He then added pills and I was flabbergasted. This dude had me on three types. I decided I was done.

Fast forward to moving back home and this weekend, I walked out with more meds than before. Apparently I’m blood pressure resistant. Severely resistant to meds. That’s why they have to put me on so much.

Furthermore I should never have stopped to begin with but it was my fault for doing so and almost lost my life doing it. If that object wasn’t in my ear, I would’ve never gone in. Till this moment I still don’t know if the Patient Care got it out like I originally wanted before going to the Main Hospital.

They tested my heart, kidneys, lungs and belly. Did ultrasounds on each and want to do more work ups to ensure no heart damage. They were impressed because they don’t understand why I never felt any symptoms. I also now have to go in for a sleep study and cardio gram.

To be fair two weeks prior to Friday I was working 12s. Stressed over some personal issues I’m trying-to work out. I couldn’t tell you the last time I took amino acids. My wife said to mention to doctors the supplements I was taking but I told her I don’t have any except Protein. Besides Protein I’m taking multi-vitamins {MedPak} by Redcon1 and their Fat Burner {NonStim}.

I will tell you lesson learned to enjoy life even more and get regular checks by doctors the older you get. It’s not worth your life. Funny part is when they were trying to regulate my blood pressure it stabilized to 190, that’s where I’m used to it being. My family walked in the room and visited for two hours and they checked it, it dropped to 147, they were happy. They left and climber back to 185, then 197. It took all I could not to laugh. Not really funny but I can’t make this up. It’s been there ever since. They said we will drop it gradually because you can pass out or have a heart attack if it drops too low, or too fast. They had no control once my little guys and wife walked in. Even with the change I suffered no symptoms.

We will see how it measures out throughout the week and next week. Hopefully they can be reduced or changed for the frequency.

You're used to it being around 190? Thats crazy. Mines usually anywhere from 112-130 over like 60-70ish

I know but after going to hospital I believe their finally into correcting it but it’s going to take multiple meds. I feel uncomfortable taking so many but I’ve changed my diet drastically and now mimic how I ate in the hospital.

Strength was low but forgot day before I hit nice numbers so I take it. All month in June the focus is now 365lbs to move up to 3 x 3. No matter what happens on other lifts this will remain until I’m doing it with ease. Cheers to next six weeks of strength.

Finished up and got to work. Seems like things are going to be normal soon and I’ll have more time to hit the gym and hit fuller workouts again.

5/30-5/31

Off due to work once again but finally got my plant back online that was offline for last 3 weeks that was sucking off my energy, time, sleep and eating schedule. Things are going to get back to normal now. We did some upgrades to control system at one of my nitrogen plants and it was a nightmare, as we found multiple issues that were not expected with how the plant operated since the controls were switched around from the old control system to the current. Thank goodness it’s all finally been worked out.

6/1
My favorite month. Mothers Birthday, Wife Birthday, Fathers Day, First day of summer, Multiple Movie Blockbusters and my birthday combined.

June 8th, June 9th, June 17, June 21, June 22.

In that order. Summer 2018 is going to be lit. I have many plans to keep working on my strength.

Blood Pressure Update:
Thank you for all who asked about my health. It’s very scary to hear how close you can be to having a stroke/heart attack and I finally got to see our family doctor. She upped the ante on doses to stabilize the pressure. This is going to be a long experience of trial and error because even with the prescription count I take now bp only dropped 2 psi from 190 to 188. I’m highly resistant. Stay tuned. I feel much better.

Two days within 4 days of doing near max lifts on this rehab of my deads. At least I’m back to mid 400 range. I’ll keep pushing it until my body decides it needs a cool down. That’s all I truthfully did. Still happy with the numbers. Going to be deadlifting and squatting more and more. Working to build on this monstrous foundation, lean out and stay the course.

On a side note anyone on a TRT regimen that can offer some advice. I’m looking to possibly give in and start after being natural all my life. For the life of me can’t figure out what cause Low T besides the stress I’ve been under for past 20years and multiple times I was unemployed and moved after leaving the Navy. The world is a scary place once you leave the comfort of military living. I worked some seriously stressful jobs, not strenuous but stressful. I’ve worked to keep my family taken care of and loss myself in the process.

I’m finally coming to grips with my reality before suffering an early death from something that I simply could’ve controlled, including living with long bouts of HBP {High Blood Pressure}, and some kidney function loss due to low filtration. It’s not damaged, and has great blood flow just not filtering properly. So I’m now on meds for those and looking at TRT. No, never in my life have I dabbled or taking anything outside of supplements off the shelf. Not even pro hormones.

Input welcome.

What kind of advice are you looking for? I can honestly say im really glad i got on it. My marriage was a mess bc i had no libido, no energy, was depressed. Honestly im not the most energetic person now but i work 9 hours physical labor every day, come home to 4 kids and i get up at 2 am to lift so i mean who wouldnt be tired? Lol but my libido is back and the depression has subsided for the most part aside from being extremely overwhelmed from personal issues going on but those are pretty hefty issues so understandable. If you make the choise to get on it and have any questions feel free to ask

That pretty much sums up what I wondered. To further inquire. What protocol did you begin with by your doctor versus where you are now. Mine suggested pinning every two weeks, 1ml I believe and to return for check ups to see where it levels out at. I’m below minimum.

Yes. Everything you mentioned caused mine in same manner that wrecked my T levels. Marriage was affected and libido in the dumps but I just rolled with it. No one would address it. The more I thought about it once we got settled in back home, new house, traded vehicle, new job, Reality kicked in about my health.

Also does insurance help with your costs for meds? What do you generally pay?

I go through entourage medical its a telemedicine clinic thats actually on here as a board sponsor dont know if youve seen em or not. Its 139 a month for everything. Its a clinic though so insurance doesnt cover it. I do 200mg a week split doses 250 iu hcg once a week and i have adex on hand if i need it but i dont usually need it. I was told to start taking it when i started test and crashed my e2 and felt like crap for a while.

Pinning every 2 weeks is a long time between shots and creates a roller coaster effect with your t levels and its not fun. I know some guys feel fine on that protocol but my script got delayed in the mail last time i got it filled and i went 2 weeks between shots and felt like garbage by the time it finally came

A roller coaster effect? See that’s what I wondered. Yeah, there is a medical facility I could use called Titan Medical. Their out of Florida. They are great at the supplements they created including TRT. I don’t want to go out of pocket. I rather see where this insurance thing goes. Next I’ll compare prices based on what you stated and the other private facility. Hopefully, my doctor wil l get dosing correct after a few weeks of pinning and blood testing. I haven’t picked up meds yet but it’s just one of those things I wasn’t completely sure of doing but it’s only solution to pulling out of this vicious health cycle I’m experiencing.

6/27 - 7/3

Off from Gym due to a lot of swimming as work obligations. Let’s just count those days as cardio days since work can be strenuous.

Took the kids to the pool for some fun in the sun and lots of pool time. You know how exhausted I was day to day and then spending hours at work sites, upwards of twelve. I’m at work now. It’s highly unusual to be onsite longer than 4-6 hours but special cases can knock my schedules at off.

Tomorrow is July 4th. I’ll be working then too but hopefully squeeze in some gym time.

According to my lifting schedule I’m to break from dead’s this week and focus on accessories for the CHAIN {Vertebrae}. It doesn’t count out squats and benching either. Longest drought I’ve had from benching, no flat, incline or reverse in almost 10 days.

CHEERS

4th of July

Banged out some weights after getting things worked out at work.

Incline Bench:
135 x 10
225 x 10
315 x 5
405 x 1 {Struggled on final 1/2 but I’ll take it.}

Assisted Pull-ups
5 x 5 @ 195 {Counterweight}

Cable Fly 4 x 12
Cable Lat Pulldown 4 x 12
Cable Rows 4 x 12

405 on incline? You're ridiculous dude. Is that a pr?

Unfortunately, no. I’ve hit 455 on the incline and never hit it again. I have video on YouTube. I must been pissed that day it happened. I don’t know. I’ll have to
Link it. I have a YouTube channel under HokiePride!

Caught once again at work going on 14 HRS And counting. Blessed however but frustrating nonetheless. Missing workouts and gains stalled. Need to re-evaluate where I am in training to ensure nothing has been lost. This makes almost 2.5 months straight of long hours and I’m ready for my long vacation.

This drought from the gym is terrible and sickening at the same time. ???
Cheers

I’ve had one workout completed since June 26, 2018. Lone time to be out the gym and no true workout. Luckily, I have vacation coming to get me back on track.

Update:
Wednesday 7/17 Legs/Lower Back
Squats 295 5 x 5
Deads. 395 4 x 4
Leg Press
Lying Leg Curl
And anything else I come up with
