HMB

Worthless or not?

I got some friends who are taking and they said the recovery is much better.

It's a good supplement if you fall into one of these categories:

1. Training extremely hard (peaking for a show and or competition)
2. Completely new to resistance training.
3. Older

If you're using calcium HMB it's best to get three grams per day in three equally split doses.

What classifies as 'older'? :)

If your stealing ensure from your friends at the retirement home lol. I thought HMB was somehow related to leucine?

HMB is a great addition if you have the money. Its a great anti-catabolic which can help maitain muscle mass when in contest prep or a serious cut or help you build by slowing down muscle breakdown. 3g a day is the prefered dose.

What's the best time to take?

You specifically ;)

Why not just get bulk leucine? I can't recall ever hearing positive feedback from HMB or HICA
