My hip has been hurting on and off since last March- sometimes real bad - I thought- pinched nerve.
Right now for the past month - it's real painfull- just starting Friday inner groin is killing??
My doc sucks ass - he is useless
Alive doesn't do any thing for the hip pain.
Tried advil at 800 mg- nothing?
Nerve?

I would guess that's nerve pain. I used to get that in my foot. As a younger athlete if I spent lots of time on the balls of my feet they'd swell and pinch that nerve and out of nowhere excruciating pain. From what I understand sciatica is typically when your glute is tight and pinches the nerve.

The recommendation if it's nerve pain is to relieve tightness and inflammation. I'd try some stretches to relieve tightness in the area. Multiple times per day try several stretches for that area and see what gives immediate release. Then for a longer term solution try to find if the muscles are tight for a reason. Normally it's a muscle imbalance (maybe your core is weak or the other side of your body is weak, who knows) and try to balance that out. Lastly while you're doing this there could be some supplements that could help reduce inflammation. XPG Curcuprime is commonly recommended, Fish Oil should be a staple, maybe some others.

What was the original injury?
How did it come about?
What bothers it now?
What does not bother it now?

You need to go to an ortho. If your insurance requires a preauth tell your doc to give you one... don't ask, tell him what you need. A pinched nerve is usually weakness, numbing, or tingling sensations and sometimes causes spasms. What your describing doesn't fit that and if NSAIDS aren't helping at all it could be anything from a misalignment to arthritis to strength imbalance causing you to compensate putting undue stess on that side, groin pain can also be a sign of hernia. again tell your doc what needs to happen hope you heal soon

This is spot on. A lot of pain comes from the nerves in other parts of the body. Chances are it could be based in your lower back. An ortho would be bale to help a lot.
