Ya dude I say don't worry about that yet I was just curious. Like I mentioned earlier I was roughly the same size as you in high school and initially I was a free safety but because of my aggressive play I was moved to LB and I had a blast in high school before eventually becoming a strong safety in college. Remember that the numbers don't measure the man just put forth your best efforts lift and train hard and someone will find a spot for you.

Well said.

I went to my college as a walk on DB but got switched to WR bc of my hands.

I was getting recruited as a LB before I got sick, lost 100 pounds , yes 100 and sat out 9/10 games my senior year :( so the offers wen away.. Took 3 years to get back all the muscle and strength/speed.. Then contacted a coach at a local school n walked on thru springs and summer. Had to earn it every day!

Wow man that's crazy, i actually went on hiatus after graduating from high school and dropped from 195 to 165 before eventually putting it back together, but 100lbs?! I can't imagine that. Just goes to show you what you can achieve when you put your mind to something.

My team played a local 7on7 against a local team. We went with our jv o and varsity defense, we played for about an hour. I got twii picks at my nornal rol position plus snagged one at strong saftey

I haven't logged in a while, sorry to the two people that actually read this. I'm in lessthanamonthmode. August 13 kicks off football I'm pumped. My lifting comp for football is the week before, I want 500dead 450 squat 300 bench, the bench is a little high but a boy has to dream. Ima about 195lbs so I'm going to start my sprints down to my playing weight of 190.

I'm doing the 300 buckeye which puts my last rep at 285, I haven't maxed out in a while though!

i quit flat benching 5 months ago due to im into bodybuilding rather then powerlifting, but i maxed at 280 at my bodyweight of 170

Yep.. Benching has little to no value in BB... dumbbells are the way to go IMO

I once heard a quote "there comes a time in every litters life when he has to decide if he wants to be a body builder or power lifter. Anyone who tries or claims to be both, will end up being nothing."

thats a cool quote, yeah, i love Dumbbells, it brings in so many most fibers to balance and control then , your really feel the tairing of the fibers

i do dumbells twice a week, ill add a rep or two to eqch set every week and when the lowest set is 8 i move up, tomorrow is 90 10 8 6, i should move up to 95s next week... i do these towards the end of my workout

i switched things up cause i didnt have a spot, i made db flatbench my main workout so i jumped weight up a little bit, 100 8,8,5 and did my normal assesories works. im gunna start a tiny everyday 15min core workout to help my back a little... it started up again so ima going try to fix it before it becomes a problem. umm what else, i turned down a vacation in oklahoma with my bud so i wouldnt miss my final two weeks of this expirence.

action shot of me as my profile picture

These were my stats throughout my four years of high school. I was a CB my freshman year and then got moved to tight end my junior and senior year.

Freshman: Height: 5'8" | Weight: 136lbs | Bench: 135lbs | Squat: 145lbs | Deadlift: 205lbs
Sophomore: Height: 5'9" | Weight: 155lbs | Bench: 240lbs | Squat: 265lbs | Deadlift: 335lbs | P Clean: 155lbs
Junior: Height: 5'11" | Weight: 170lbs | Bench: 275lbs | Squat: 355lbs | Deadlift: 415lbs | P Clean: 205lbs
Senior: Height: 5'11" | Weight: 185lbs | Bench: 300lbs | Squat: 405lbs | Deadlift: 465lbs | P Clean: 235lbs

I pretty much became obsessed with the thought of getting stronger my sophomore year. Those are the lifts I had written down in my yearbooks. I remember I used to eat two bowls of every vegetables I could find in the house every single day. It would be the nastiest combination of foods, but I would put as many veggies that I could find and sometimes even fruits and mix it into a big huge popcorn bowl and eat it. I miss playing football so much.

I always thought of this as a good recommendation and used it myself, for those of you interested in just a simple suggestion. Try not to play every single sport offered at your school. I only played two sports per year. My sophomore year I skipped football and joined the wrestling team and I stayed on the wrestling team my junior year until they discontinued wrestling my senior year, then I went back to baseball. If you focus on every single sport offered, it doesn't give you as much time to put focus on getting better in the weight room, which is building blocks to a future athlete.

^^^ great post, i really appreciate the advice. i am a football and track guy, but if i go somewhere for football im done with track or if i go straight academics in college, im going to do it just because my schools 400m and 800m record are mine

yuppers, western central

Good work in here. I really miss 7 on 7, it was always a blast.

they are amazing, my only complaint is its so hard to avoid contact, like there is a 2.5 yard press rule now

Wow, that's pretty ridiculous. Almost makes it not football.

we had a 8 game, 7 on 7 day. i got suspended for game 2 because a 130 6ft 1 twig was running a drag right at me and i didnt move, it was like 3yds so contact is still legal, he fell down so i got in trouble for using unnessacry roughness

You need to clear that pm box man...

That's sad man. That's hardly even football..

haha i just did bud, lijke right before i read your post hahaha
