Herder's 2014 Log: All About the XPC Semi's

There is literally like 5 or 6 I would buy if it didn't take 400mgs caffeine to get effective amounts of the other stuff. Craziness. Max out is boss mode though IMO. I like Olympus labs conquer as well. I wish PES would put another stimmer out as well.

Max out looks good. Except my tolerance is no where near 300mg of caff. Closer to 150-200. I love katana. But with a little ephedrine. Also its expensive af. Well compared to what we get stuff for.

I used to buy pres all the time. Now, it's usually coffee for me. Maybe the occasional ABB speed stack.

Squat day
Work up
Suit, straps up and 3m powerbelly felonies
605X2
635X2

Felt really really good today. Spent a good amount of time mobilizing and it paid off. Now I need to add in some speedy box squats on deadlift day to get my speed up. I've been mostly concerned with execution and learning the groove. Now that I'm there I need to start squatting more aggressively. I think 650 or so should be a good opener.

Solid work and plan man.

I learned in school that coffee doesnt offer the same performance and weight loss benifits that caffeine anhydrous does.

Max Out is also really good for me. It's more potent than OL's Conqu3r, which actually isn't strong enough for me if I use it for a couple weeks consistently (4x/wk). The solution was to wave them - 2 wks of Conqu3r, then when my tolerance to amp citrate is built switch to Max Out for 2 weeks, then back to Conqu3r. Perfection. Bought them both twice, and I can count the pre's I've bought more than once on one hand.

Or you could just use 2/3 a scoop of Max Out like I did the other time, and the tub lasts forever then. The nootropic element is why it's worth it - you're not using it for a pump or ergogens; it shines by really helping you feel energized and mentally 'on'. Not stupidly over-hyped; just ready to get crackin'.

I was gonna whine how coffee makes me sh!t if I drink it preworkout, then remembered that all preworkout stims do this to me :)

Do you wrap yourself in the gym or do you have a buddy honk em on?

Usually I wrap myself. I don't consider myself all that particular, but apparently I am. But last night I had my brother wrap me. It's hard to wrap in a suit.

Yeah I've only been in a single-ply Inzer hardcore Sean sold me and had a buddy wrap me - hard to even sit in a chair while he did it lol. Multiple layers can't be easier. What suit & briefs are you using? I know it was a Metal suit....

I'm wearing Inzer Predator briefs. Almost a full size too big for me. They have incredible stopping power. When I don't roll the legs up and use a high bar, I can have trouble hitting depth with as much as 585 in them. They aren't for beginners in my opinion, the first time I wore them my knees were pulled in and I couldn't even hit a box. This was after occasionally using metal pro briefs for about a year. I love them, I bought them big on purpose to learn how to use them. After this meet I will get them taken in.

For the suit, I'm wearing a metal pro squatter. First generation/entry level multi ply suit. Honestly compared to the predators they are like tissue paper. But it is increasing my support and carryover and the legs are flared well to help me track my knees properly. I'm glad this is the suit I'm using for my first meet, it's helping me to feel everything out.

I have a Titan Boss waiting in the wings that will be a giant upgrade. I'm expecting 710-725 in this meet, but with tighter Preds, a winter with Donnie, and the Boss, I expect to be well over 800 this time next year. I've already been told as much by a near 1000lb squatter.

Jealous and mad. That's awesome tho.

Your review really makes me wanna try max out. Have you tried katana?

I wasn't a big fan of max out. I used nitramine the past couple cycles and I liked that a lot, pretty good doses of beta alanine and such on 1 scoop. A good stim blend that's some what light on caffeine, about $1 a scoop. I only needed 1 scoop over the 3 tubs I went thru.

Has yohimbe tho :/

Just the flavor alone is good for a rep or two of Max out :D

I like the dragonfruit flavor but I can't wait for the next flavor to drop!

I'm a huge fan of pre workouts that have TMG in it but not heavy on stims

Fantastic speedy bench day

Band shoulder prep
Mace swings
Green band Pushdowns 2x15

Speed bench Plus short minis
185X12x3 three grips
235x3 same good speed
Add F6
425x3x3 float

Pace between sets was good on bench. Paused the last couple sets to ease up on the pecs. Needed to shirt up again and float just to feel the groove and start doing it right. That was successful. Popped out of the bottom as well. I'm thinking of floating while adding chain next time. Floats and reps just work for me.

DB press (not neutral finally)
55X15
70X6
90X6
100X13

Rolling tri/Tate press
40X3x8/8

100 3D pullaparts overhand underhand and with lots of different angles tried

Pull ups (rotating handles)
3x6

Band high rows done wearing a miniband back bowtie
3x12

Hammer Curls
3X15

Good pump, productive assistance, good day. Getting a lot better at mace swings too.

Whats that high row?

Standing with the band choked around the pull up bar. Little backwards lean, keep an upper back arch, and row to sternum. One of my upper day favorites. The back bowtie is a mini band doubled and Xed and put around my shoulders and across my back. Pulls the shoulders back and down where they belong. Trying to un douchebag my shoulders after neglecting my facepulls and pullaparts.

I don't doubt it. Local guy squat about 600 in just belt/wraps (or less) at Chris Janek's gym in Oct, and he was in a Titan Boss and hit 750 couple weeks ago at a meet. I was talking to him again this time about the suit and his progress and I think he'd only been in it even a handful of times. I know he'd only been in his shirt 4 times lol.

Yeah Katana works dandy, but it tastes so awful I legitimately have to chug it. And it's overpriced.

To max carryover from your gear your gonna have to be in your gear. A lot and really learn the groove.

Yeah it is pricey. I wont be buying it again. But i do enjoy the focus from the citicholine in it. Max out will prob be my next go.

Yeah picking up 150lbs in 6wks in a suit - can you imagine if he really puts the work in it?? Herder should have some good times in that thing. And the Max Out is pretty nice, IMHO.

Speed box squats
245+ heavily choked bluesx9x2

Rev Blue Deadlift (135 floor, zero at top)
585X3x1 raw
585X2x1 bottoms
635X1 bottoms
650X1 straps up

Put shorts on over my suit and lock out was smooth. No really tough reps except 635 straps down.

Will do some raw CAT pulling and special exercises today.

I forgot I sold that thing to you lol Those legs on it suck ass, huh?

Eh, I haven't gotten in it since I was 212..... I'd have to drop 15lbs for it to be competition tight. Over 20 to train with it lol

You're going to do the CAT pulling in this session, or you coming back for a second training session??

No, that was last night. Doing it tonight. I don't have a lot of time at the gym, so I've decided to do extra sessions at home.

Tonight I finally got the pulling in. Wasn't feeling up to it, lower back kind of felt off, and so I just hit a little.

Work up, beltless deficit against minis
455X1 never done this before, not a bad number to start off with.
Belt up, keep deficit
455X3 Good speed
Move to pulling from floor
475x3 still pretty speedy, but was feeling just okay
425x3 and I decided I had had enough.

Band high rows
5x15

Done. Not into it today, that's ok. I'll be pulling more helpless deficit triples at 425 for the next few weeks and heavy 5s off of 6" blocks to prep. Back in the suit for opener day. Think I'll open with 535-545.

Oh yeah, and tomorrow I'm helping Donnie with his lower back clinic here and then watching the Monster Bench and deadlift meet that he's emceeing. Should see a couple 550 raw benches and a couple 700lb benches. Possibly an 800lb single ply bench by a 242.

You're just living the dream man. Sounds like it should be a great time, and solid pulling, especially for not feeling it.

Sounds badass. And 540 is like the perfect opener, fwiw. It's a nice smokeshow to a decent total locked in, and sets you up for an easy enough jump from 570-600 even if you like.

Right now I want 610-615 on my third. Possibly even 605. I'm accounting for my being spent after 700lb squat attempts and 500lb bench attempts.

Four hours of tempering awesomeness today. It was awesome. There were two 135lbers, two 85lbers, and three foot and forearm rods in use nearly the whole time. It was cool to be a small part of it, and really great to see Donnie again. Picked up a few things as well, obviously. Going to be doing my band shoulder routine under compression whenever I can from here on out, that added ischemia to the activation and mobilization moves will be phenomenal.

So wrap with rogue band the do the routine?

He much prefers an Inzer gripper over the voodoo bands. Voodoo bands are for wrists, elbows, and ankles. And rob112 You need to compression wrap and work eversion. Donnie spent an hour and a half talking about ankles today, and he said we should have 3-5 degrees of eversion, with most lifters locked in at zero or one degree, or even negative values.

Interesting. Thanks for the insight, I start tomorrow probably. I'm so jealous you get to go there. Donnie is such an innovative guy.

To my deteiment DMax, I never do anything post workout. I usually do accessory up until I absolutely have to leave. I gotta change that.

Something u want to do post workout I would assume

Pre training and on off days. If your ankle is locked up and you're about to squat, it would behoove you to unlock it as best you can before you start squatting.

Yea I get the ankles part I was referring to the shoulder wrapping was thinking it may loosen it too much

We do it all before. When you're a big strong tight powerlines, there's little danger of being too loose.

So the meet I was peaking for is no longer sanctioned by SPF, and there will be no monolift. So time to retool.

Uhhhh that sucks. No monolift? Screw lifting like a poor person.
Definitely not in gear. I don't mind walking out raw, but no way. Also, who knows what kind of equipment will be at a meet with no mono. My 601 squat was on a bar with no center knurling at this meet last year.
Come to the other side of the state in July ma man haha

I need to do something!
