Ull be fine man, ive had a bad 4 weeks almost in a row lol one bad day is nothing
Hahaha true. It had better improve quickly, I can live with a bad day in the offseason, but this is prep time. I don't know how I'd manage the extra variables gear creates in prep. I'd probably implode.
I think it was cool the first time around to do the three variations. You could just do a second variant-add the box or hit some pauses for two sets on back off sets.
Or go with Chris Duffins way. Hit a bunch of doubles until bar speed drops below the desired bar speed (desired-first attempt bar speed) Then start adding on more sets
Just do the couple variants and then maybe add in a squat movement on a separate day. This way you can get the squat volume in without having to half ass a third movement.
Just an idea, if you were looking for any ma man.
Maybe. I can see that my front squats behave much the same way as a heavy low bar squat, so I'd like to get stronger at fronts. I'd also like to do pauses, so maybe splitting them is the answer.
Nice! Still hit a PR anyways.![]()
Nice job dude! Is that your all time wrappless PR? I probably need to nut up soon and start wrapping, but I want to hit a 5 hundo raw first. You and Sean and the rest of the big squat club really drive me to put more on the bar every week. Nice job today.
This program looks like it's exactly what you need, Herd. Can't wait to see how you respond!
That all sounds just awful.
All the way down to 210?
Yeahs it's a smart approach in the long term. The lower weight classes (I count 220 as low) definitely require you to be fairly lean if you plan to be competitive
No doubt. Even 242. I dunno if you saw that picture of Brian Carroll from this weekend, but he was incredibly lean at 242 and he was on the platform weighing 268. That's where I need to be to be competitive.
That's a crazy water cut. I remember reading dan green used to cut from like 245 to 220 to make weight. Now he's too big for that lol.
And yeah the bigger guys are definitely getting leaner. Pretty sure Eric lillebridge has visible abs at 300lbs. Sick
Yeah. But Dan is usually happy at 255. And now the poor guy is gonna get smoked by Khudayarov who walks around allegedly at 260 and looks closer to 275.
Yeah saw him squat 860x3 the other day on YouTube. And his bench blows dan's out of the water too. Oh wellllll
It'll be interesting to see if he gets a favorable call with his depth.
My bicep tendinitis/elbow issues have all but disappeared. I wish you the same fortune, brother
It happens every time, man. I've done a million different protocols and felt the pain in so many different places it's hard to believe. Haven't tried this pvc stretching yet though, so I'm hoping it will help.
High bar seems to leave me pain free, or going wider then i want to low bar also.
