Helping mom... Need help!!

I am a pretty fit guy and my mom is trying to get into shape. I wanna help her out, I mean she is "MOM" but am looking for the right workout routine. Remember she just turn 50 and has bad knees, so cannot take too much abuse on them. If anybody has any advice I would greatly appreciate it!
 
i'd say the best bet is to start off with a clean calorically deficit diet and some form of exercise (even aerobics for 30 mins a day).

For obese ppl (who don't have hormonal issues), diet's most likely the key area of failure
