HELP! Sulfa drugs and Sulphur

Hey guys my buddy is 25 years old and is about to start a cycle of Epistane.
Before he starts awhile back when he was a kid he had rashes come up from a anti biotic and his doctor said that he was allergic to sulfa drugs.

Epistane says people should take caution because it has "sulphur", is this the same thing as sulfa drugs? Or should he not have any problems with it?

Since i fielded this question many times about havoc while i was with RPN, i'll relay what i saved to answer this inquiry:

In laymens terms, it means this. Sulfur is an essential element that is required for life. Sulfonamide antibiotcs such as "Bactrim" do infact contain sulfur, however that's not what causes the allergic reaction/allergy with this drug class.

When sulfonamide antibiotics are being metabolized in the liver, non-specific protein antigens can attach/bind to it forming a larger molecule that can manifest into a potential allergen. In essence, it's not the sulfur itself that's causing the reaction, it's a protein complex that is formed from the sulfonamide molecule that the body now views as an allergen.

In other words, he's good to go.
