help for a girl

Pirate

Member
I have a friend who wants to loose some weight. I told her to set up what she is going to eat for the day then plan when she is going to eat it. I said to make like 4 small meals low in fat. Is this good advice or should I just shut the hell up. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

heh i'm joking, here is some random tips off the top of my head:

Shoot for 5-6 meals each 3-3.5 hours apart
Eat breakfast, a lot of girls tend to skip
Drink more water
Stay away from sugary food
Eat low GI carbs

Here is a random diet my girl uses. She changes it up for 1-2 meals each day but keeps it pretty consistant otherwise. Obviously this would be different depending on her size/height/age/level of activity etc. More just a guideline on some healthy meals.

Meal 1: Go lean cereal w/ skim milk

Meal 2: Oatmeal w/ splenda and cinnamon

Meal 3: Sandwich w/ 99% fat free ham w/ mustard on whole grain bread w/ 1 slice cheese.

Meal 4: 2 Egg whites and 1 whole egg

Meal 5: Chicken breast cut up into a salad, very slight dressing.

Thanks alot. I also heard that protein before cardio gives fuel to citruscycle (atp) witch will stimulate fatburning.. In the same time the protein increases glucagon, witch will release fat from fatcells. I also read that coffee is good for increasing release of fat from fatcells. Does this sound logical.

Thanks Jon, always a big help to the boards.

I'm a big advocate of cardio on an empty stomach first thing in the morning (yes this could include you banging her.)

As for the coffee, i have no clue never looked into it because i HATE it. I'm thinking if u add sugar and creamer etc etc, the carbs and sugar in it will counter any fat release (if there was any, i'm not sure on this one.)

i think you are are thinking more of caffeine in general. coffee is just a delivery system.

i've used a powdered form of caffeine in the past which i got more out of than coffee. i actually had it in a cup of green tea extract which also has fat burning qualities.

the combination worked well.

you might want to research it a bit more though as i remember it did give me quite a kick in the energy dept.

Damn it would be easy being a girl. Five meals a day would be cake. Fitting 8/9 in a day is freaking impossible sometimes.

Perhaps you could introduce a little fish into her diet (or other good fats), and steer her away from any overly processed carbs and sugar.

the tips given are pretty much all she needs. just know a certain diet isnt for everyone but a clean diet is (sufficient amount of protein, low GI carbohyrdrates, staying away from food high in sugar, minimal saturated fat, etc). Frequency of these meals while burning more calories than she is taking in (along with her workouts) will get her through to her goals brother.
