Hi everyone, I joined this forum because I need some help regarding my (possible) height growth.
I stand at 5'6". I've always been about a head shorter than other people my age. I'm an average build, no excessive body fat, but I look a lot younger than other people. I haven't grown much facial hair – I've been trying to grow it out for almost two months now and it still looks like fuzz. I've never had a large growth spurt, either. I grew slowly (and behind everyone else) over the years that I did grow. Recently one of my friends told me I looked like I was getting taller, and I've been eating and sleeping more (as well as getting these deep pains in my legs for about half an hour every other day). I thought growing pains were supposed to be much more prolonged and painful.
My dad's side of the family is very tall. My dad is 6'4", my uncle is 6'8", my grandpa was 6'5". The women are all around 5'7". I've heard stories of my great aunt being 7'1".
My mom's side of the family is pretty short, with the guys being around 5'3", and the women around 5'2".
Over the past month or so I've been wondering if I'm going to grow more. I'm 19, and I know my cousin (dad's side of the family) was 5'6" when he entered college at 18 and he came out at 6'1" four years later. Do you guys think the same thing is going to happen with me? And if you know, what kind of things can I do to maximize or produce growth? I've heard of HGH but it honestly sounds like an expensive, bad idea.
I just think it's strange that there wasn't a 10" difference between my dad's height and mine. What do all of you think?
