Healthy Food options and diet routines for fat loss

I need advice on how to start eating better. I work out quite a bit and need to get my diet in check because I'm committed and want to see what I can do to my body. Just don't know much about nutrition. I need something to help burn or lower or maintain fat while trying to still build lean muscle.
 
Very difficult to do both .. pick one and go for it .. look into lean gains .. thread in nutritional section here
 
There is no secret other than taking the time to make your own food. Buy organic whole foods and eat them with minimal salt and oil. To follow a strict diet, the following will be your main staples.
Rice
Sweet potatoes / yams
Quinoa
Oats - not instant. Go steel cut or old fashioned
Eggs
Salmon
Chicken
Avocado
Almonds
Peanut butter
Broccoli
kale
Carrots

Beyond that it is will power IMO.
