Lots of times i was a meth addict for 10 years been clean 12 now. Ive done alot of things that have really effected me mentally especially stabbing a guy i was partying with out of rage. Its something that doesnt go away.

As a result of my past i dont think i ever developed normal copimg skills or abbility to handle problems or people at work. I have a short fuse and my best coping mechanism is lettimg people walk all over me to avoid conflict. I am going through some bad **** stress right now just because i didnt know how to talk to someone and express i dont like what they are doing and exploded. Sorry for the long off topic rant im in emergency room sick as **** lol

That's nothing. I stabbed a guy because he asked me for my last piece of gum once... Once. I was sober and in a good mood at the time too.

Funny / Not-so-funny story of one of my many ER visits. I was sitting there waiting to be taken care of, and people rushing all over the place. It was surreal. Suddenly, I something catches my eye. This fellow in a wheel chair in front of me has his head tilted funny, and he's looking at me. Watching me. Intently. NO, seriously intently... to the point where his one eye twitches, and tears up... I'm slow at times, but holy sh1t, this guy is in trouble!. I reach out and blindly grab the person that passes by me next, hard. Pull them towards me and say, "That guy needs help.". The nurse looks at him and one second later I hear "Code Blue - ER", and not 10-15 seconds pass when several people converge on this guy.

It was amazing.

To be honest I'm 2nd dan In Japanese ju jitstu and I've always been tought to walk away from knife robberys.but if it comes to the worse then I know how to defend myself. But in the u.s most ppl have a gun so I guess that's enough to protect themselves...
 
Yes. Twice. First instance 1988, I was working midnight shift and took the office Mossberg shotgun to see what was making noises outside the building. Outside it was dark and noticed movement in the shadows.I repeatedly gave instructions for the other party to reveal themselves. No response. I chambered a round and was ready to fire, gave the command to reveal oneself. An emaciated junkie homeless type shuffled into view claiming he was looking for aluminum cans to gather and sell.(He had to climb over an 8' fence to approach the building.)No doubt the sound of the shotgun shell being chambered provided impetus.We were a sensitive installation and so security were issued firearms.-long guns

Second instance in 1993. I worked midnight shift at a nuclear power facility which is on a headland separated from the city by a road paved through undeveloped tall grasslands(part of the Everglades). Street racing takes place on the road into the early morning. I was driving home and came across a bunch of street racers blocking the road. I was tired and sleepy and wanted them to move; they would not. An argument ensued. One fellow threatened me and approached. I presented my Beretta 92 and warned him not to come closer. He and they gave way and I continued on my way home.

In retrospect I used poor judgments in both cases. What was going through my mind Both occasions was I better have a good reason to shoot or I would be in legal hell. I did not care regarding what would happen to the other person. That is, I had no issues with shooting someone, it was the legal fallout that preoccupied me.

I also picked up a hooker once driving home from that nuclear power plant not knowing she was one. It was 1993 new year's eve night, by then 1994 new years still dark. She could not remember where she lived so I thought a stickup was coming. My car then was the very cramp 1984 RX-7 so she could easily reach over and hold a knife to me. It was dark in the car so I eased out my Beretta from my jacket and had it in my left hand in the crevice formed by the driver's side seat and door panel. I would have shot her in an instant if she pulled anything. It was so dark inside the RX-7 she could not see the firearm.Finally dropped her off in front of a bar. More business for her hopefully.

It was cold for So.Florida at that time and I wore a heavy jacket. I placed the firearm in the jacket pocket when initially stopping to see what she wanted. She was walking by the side of the road referred to in the post above. May have been an innocent situation(stranded motorist) or a setup so I prepared for any scenario.

And what was going through my mind was the embarrassment of having to tell my GF why I was late for home that night because I had to kill a hooker. Good Samaritan gone bad. Also thought no one would believe me that I had tried to be a nice guy and then things went bad. I would probably be charged as some sort of hooker killer.
We did have a guy killing hookers then. He was active along Flagler and 8 Street. One night I drove by one of his body dumps. Missed him by about 3 hrs according to the PD reports. He was later caught when one escaped. On Death Row still.

I've pulled a weapon on several people. Lol. Only been a few instances where I had my finger on the trigger though. One time we got a robbery and the guy started running. He ran between two buildings and they only let out one place. I cut him off and found him. When I drew down on him he froze and wouldn't take his hand out of his pocket. After a few commands I made the decision that I was going to shoot him. When I started adjusting my position he dropped to the ground and sprawled out.

Another time I almost shot a dog. My first kid was a few months old and we were walking down our alley when a rather large chow came out and cornered us. It was snarling and getting nasty so I pulled my gun and tucked my kid into my arms and covered his head and ears as much as I could to shoot. Then it walked away. Lol.

Lol. I kind of figured. But wasn't sure. My name should kind of give an idea of why I've pulled a weapon on a lot of people. Lol.

I had to pull my knife out on a guy after he tried to rob me. Only thing going through my head when I pulled it out was "close the gap, he could have a gun".

Had similar- was living in a Very ****ty part of PA while going to school, parking lot and building were 1.5 blocks apart. Walking from car to building two crack dealers I'd seen regularly started following me. I pulled my blade from pocket into jacket pocket, & opened. Damn glad I did. Next thing I knew one was trying to hem me up and the go thru pockets. When I pulled the knife the one let go and other started reaching for something. Luckily was a knife. I said "you go your way, I go mine" and luckily that's exactly what happened. Have horrible luck. Since then have had gun pulled on me 3x. Living in cracktown PA and richmond va prolly didn't help, but I swear I did Nothing to instigate any of these events. All 3 tines it was crack heads wanting money I didn't have. Only pulled out knife that one time.

I hope none of you have to deal w any of this. God bless or wtvr.

In the training film it was a small built Asian guy who demonstrates for both student-teacher and in his court testimony. Expert witness apparently. Also seen the movement and speed in real life with much taller and heavier folk.

M1A and M14 were my first ladys . The videos also show insertion points for "1 stick picks" aka the bleed out areas . Pretty bad ass .... Not sure Ill ever use it but if need be its fresh in my mind like fresh coffee.

Not a huge fan of Glocks, but it's an ergonomic thing with me. I just don't like how they feel. And I'm pretty sure every instance of "Glock Leg" can be traced to poor handling, not an issue with the safeties on Glocks. I wonder how many problems arise from people with cc weapons who aren't really capable with it? How many people are carrying weapons that run less than 100 rounds through them in 6 months?

I agree and law enforcement officers are the biggest offenders of that. So many do not practice on the regular. I shoot 300 rds+ a week through mine but I'm at the range every week and don't pay for ammunition, range fees or targets. Never had a phase 1 or 2 stoppage on mine.

Yup. If you follow the golden rules of cc and owning a gun period you should have virtually zero risk of a misfire or unintentional harm. Those are the only two reasons I can think as to why you would require a thumb or finger safety

I have several revolvers that I've carried over the years with that in mind. One of my favorites is a Charter Arms Bulldog 44 spl. Easy to carry and just the sound of it going off is enough to incapacitate most people!

BloodManor im hoping to go to the armorer class in the next few months with work. I was gonna test for firearm instructor last year too but plans got changed. I am a huge glock fan too. I grew up on them. And yes, you are right, Glock leg is from poor firearm safety.

We had a lot of issues here with our g23s. meaning stage 1 and 2 malfunctions. but now when we go to the range if we have a malfunction its typically an ammunition issue. we do force malfunctions during a lot of training, ie: put an empty case in backwards or something. I made it through a timed course one year with a stage 3 malfunction. didn't drop the gun either bashing on it like that.
