Hairygrandpas log, fat- and older people welcome!- diet, training, cycles, healing

The world does suck, but getting offered sex wouldn't be my reason why it sucks :)

And it sucks the BPC hasn't got to you yet. I hate waiting for stuff. I get so anxious to try it.

Yes, it sucks azz.
I wanted to use it on my knees, instead my knees got better by itself, BPC seems to have a long distance healing effect, LOL

Long distance effect...you're on to something here. At least your knees are feeling better. Good enough for you to try and deadlift again? Assuming that wouldn't aggravate your shoulder.

Playing it save for awhile, starting a light leg-rehab routine like lounges to see if knees act up afterwards. Could not walk after the deadlift challenge, I'm careful now.
My knees got better when I upped test to 500/week without taking AI's, figuring that my e was low for a prolonged time, causing the knee pain.

Keep pushing and stop complaining. If I wanted stories I would go to the library.

My son has his 18th birthday today, 25 guests in my house. Have to keep the order and peace here....
Got some compliments on my physique from the 17-18 year old chicks , hahahaha, that feels like honey on my soul!

That's awesome! Didn't know you can read!

Only what google reads to me in text to speech.

Taking pictures of the hot chicks is difficult, they stick together and it's weird taking pictures of them, LOL.
But so far they are behaving right, no problems, very educated kids.
We have here a dude from Indiana-US, an interchange student. I talked to him about everything. He and his family are Hillary supporters....
WTF?

(I'm too old)!

Don'tcha know we are, or are on our way to becoming, old farts here :). The subject line for HGs thread does include "older people welcome!" after all :D

BTW, your avatar pict looks like you are in great shape. Color me jealous! :). I want to be like you when I grow up :D

The world has become a despicable place, it turns my stomach.
Yesterday two 19 year old gorgeous girls offered me sex in exchange for advertising a product for bodybuilders.
I obviously declined that unmoral offer, staying strong to my principles.

I stood as strong as "Sparkle-Pump" will make you when you buy it.

The world does suck, but getting offered sex wouldn't be my reason why it sucks :)

I think he means that it is a sad commentary on the world when 2 young girls have such little regard for themselves that they would pimp themselves out for something as insignificant as advertising (hanging a poster in your shop HG?).

It's funny. I am licensed to carry, but I've never even hardly touched a gun. I do carry knives most everywhere I go and it astonishes me how often people question me on that - "Why do you carry a knife?" Ummm...wtf do you think? To cut things. But it's amazing how people think it's a weapon. I cut tape and boxes and rope, etc. all the time and when that time comes I'm usually the only guy with a knife. People freak out so easily. Two generations ago, every 1st grader took a knife to school. Now they get suspended for bringing a swiss army spoon. Ridiculous.

my son got suspended from school 5 years ago for having a Swiss army knife on his key chain. you know the one that is like 2" long. I had to leave the office to go meet with the boys dean. I was like are you F'in kidding me. he told me I had to watch my language.I was like I drove 45 min. for this sh*t. I'm from Oklahoma and we use to bring our dads pistols to elementary school (not loaded because we knew they were not toys) to show them off in the 70's. (things have changed)

Don't know if I am 2 generations old yet, probably, but yea, I can remember getting a pocket knife as a B;/day present from my dad when I was in elementary school and carrying it in my pocket (at school). But times have changed, I mean there weren't any metal detectors at our school entrances back then either *sigh*

BTW, I am also licensed to carry, but usually opt for a pocket knife since, as you pointed out, it is much more useful on a day to day basis. Although there are stricter laws around carrying a knife (over 2" in blade length) then around a gun. You can get a permit for a gun, but there is no permit for a knife. I also need to remind myself to take my (small) pocket knife out of my pocket when I go pick my daughter up from school, as that is a violation that carries the same penalty as carrying a loaded gun onto school grounds.

LOL, I was talking about my grand parents generation...I'm 37, so for me, 2 generations back is an 80+ year old. Haha. You sound like you live in a backwards state like me. You can have a license to carry, but the rules are ridiculous and if anyone even sees the outline of your gun through a shirt or jacket you can be arrested and your LTC pulled. And the towns have jurisdiction over knives - so you can be in 1 town that allows a certain knife and then go into the city and the knife is no longer legal. I carry folders as long as 3.25" some days. My main folder that is with me ALL the time is a bright orange spyderco dragonfly, which is tiny but sturdy enough and extremely useful. It fits in the change pocket in my jeans or work pants. Not many people find it menacing, but I still act carefully with it because I will get looks even though it is small. The bright orange I would think would show people I'm not up to no good - it's right here, nothing to hide - but it also helps keep me from losing it like I did with my black one.

On days that I'm not working, and even some when I am, I have a Zero Tolerance 0566 that I carry - which does mean business and I could see the sheep being afraid of it, and it wouldn't be legal in some towns. It's borderline anyway because assisted opening isn't technically legal in my state.

If you carry a gun through a school zone here, you can lose your LTC - so if you're driving down the road past a school, you should re-route if you are carrying instead of going through a 20 mph school zone because that's not technically legal. I am unaware of any knife laws on school grounds, but I wouldn't be surprised.

The problem is, people cannot solve problems anymore. A situation comes up where your son has a knife at school and rather than take the knife from him and send him back to class, they have to call the police, etc. Nobody wants to be responsible and make a decision for what is best. Kids make mistakes and there is a big difference between a kid taking his swiss army knife to school and a kid attacking another student.

I know what you mean about the sheeple and most knives. I have a couple of striders, chris reeve and spydercos, no ZTs (yet :)). I have a couple of benchmades that end up my EDC, because they are usually less tactical looking and more sheeple friendly. :). We have lived in San Francisco, and ore recently in Charlotte, NC. Now reside in Florida (where I grew up). To be honest I have not checked the knife laws since we moved back here last year. So maybe they are better than in NC, and any place is better than California for knife/gun laws. :)

They did pass a new law here that with a concealed carry permit you can have a gun in your car on school ground, so long as it is locked up/in a car safe (and I think not loaded). The problem is if my wife borrows my car she could get pinched since she doesn't have a CC permit. So I don't bother unless I know I am going to an "unsavory" neighborhood or at the wrong time of night.

Just want to add that it's nice to see more carry-savvy folks in the world. We aren't the bad people! EU's laws are ridiculous. You can get fined for having anything that could resemble a weapon in your car in the UK. Even a cricket bat. Knives are a no go here, and guns are out of the question unless you have a special permit for farming or are wealthy enough to have a hunting license. As much as I like being overseas, I cannot wait until I'm back in the states and can purchase and carry firearms/knives to my heart's content.

I am also a member over on USN, if that tells you where my head and heart are at :) Although I haven't been active lately, just not enough time.

Oh sh1t. I think nobody got the joke....

This never happened , it's a joke, read carefully: 1:Sex offered for advertising a product 2:me supposedly declined 3. me advertising a product

Man, I have to stick to simpler jokes then, -or better ones? Damnit, LOL

Lmao I've heard a similar joke, I think they stated the product in the beginning so people know that's the product advertised at the end.

Dang! What an AMAZING transformation. Inspiring.

hairygrandpa - have you been following Kaprice 's log? He's off to a great start - the most thorough I've seen.

WTF?

In my experience, most college students are Hillary supporters. Many were Bernie supporters, but when he backed out, they all went toward Hillary.

Hillary Supporter! there are those people out there that will believe anything you hear and cant think for them selves or on the take with the Clinton foundation or are set on the free ride.
One of my Daughters is a teacher and I had to explain to her that anyone with an education know what good economic structure is but they choose not to listen to it because it doesn't build the plantation for re-election. I asked what have the lib rials ever done but tell you lies that they are for education and never do anything. "Since the 70's" she has finally pulled the wool from her eyes and thought for her-self! and now she is going to vote the other way. She has always done what she was told by the educators when it came to politics.

THIS is the #1 thing I point out to people when I discuss politics. You should never vote for a party that benefits from the failure if others. Liberals run on a platform of expanding govt. The more individuals fail, the more they rely on the govt. The more we rely on the govt, the more we have a personal stake in having a liberal in office.

I mean, if you were getting food stamps and not working and someone ran saying they were going to eliminate your source of food, would you vote for them? No, you almost have to vote for the person who wants to expand the program that gives you food.

Of course, if you were doing well in the first place, that program wouldn't be necessary.

The saying is that we are born liberal, we learn to be conservative.

The other problem is that politics is bigger than either party. They are ALL getting paid to be part of the govt. And it is their career in 99 out of 100 cases. The bigger govt is, the more job opportunity for the politicians. Liberal or conservative, they all have an incentive to create jobs for themselves by expanding govt. Term limits are the answer, and an obvious answer - but you can see that no politician will limit their own income.

You hit the nail on the head. Term limits should be mandatory. I think that is what people like about Trump. He is a businessman that doesn't need the money and he is not a lawyer or a career politician.

Another problem is my other Daughter and son in-law got laid off within a month of each other. the food stamps they were getting for them and my 2 grand children was enough to feed half the neighborhood. she use to bring food over and I mean nice food. not can goods and Gov't cheese.

I wouldn't say that I like anything about Trump, but the guy has actually accomplished things in life other than getting elected, isn't stupid, and yeah he doesn't need the money and will do things that put politicians on the run I think. No one fears him more than the establishment. He can't be controlled like Romney allowed himself to be.

Most politicians. Including our current president, have never created any value to society and never even had a real job for most of their lives. Washington and Adams envisioned lawyers, doctors, farmers running this country.

And to put it in perspective, there was a military commander once talking about our revolutionary war. He pointed out that the Americans were farmers 2 weeks before they went to battle and they were used to carrying pitchforks, not muskets. And then they stood up to the greatest military force on the planet.

That is the American way. #ballz

You know what? Great. People who get laid off and have hard times...I'm good with helping out. Maybe it should be society helping more than the govt but people have to be doing well for that to happen and the govt. Really should be promoting individual success. I'm not against helping anyone on hard times. I don't want someone to make a career of poverty though.

They needed the help but not that much was my point. My son in-law is young has always worked hard with pride and told me he sees how they get you hooked on living off the government and conditioning you to be needy and lazy. by the way he now has 2 jobs making less but couldn't stand sitting around the house being a useless father. He was a pipe fitter strait out of high school and the oil prices have devastated the company he was working for for 6 years. they went from 120 employees to 21 in 6 months time. my daughter was a secretary for a the same oil and gas company and now she is baby sitting kids at her house and making more money. (I'm proud of both of them for taking the bull by the horns and finding a way to take care of themselves).

You should be proud! It is wrong that they set it up so that once you're in the system, you have no incentive to improve your situation. My dad was on unemployment for a while and he wanted to get a job, but found out that even if he took a job pumping gas (you know when they still did that) he would make too much money and they would reduce his benefits or eliminate them and his health care would be gone - so he had to sit at home until he found a full time job. It says a lot about their character that your son-in-law and daughter will work for less than they would get if it were a hand-out. I expect people to act in accordance with incentives - but when I see something like that, I feel a little better about people in general.

Thanks for the kind words. They are rare at there age. I remember as far back as 1987 dating a girl that was a single mother. She had a sweet apartment, food stamps, well fair the whole bag. she told me she would have to find a job making $15.00/hr. to maintain the same life style she had living off the government.
she only had a high school education and I think minimum wage was $3.65/hr. back then.

So, here's my take...

Government/society should absolutely take care of the poor -- to the extent it helps get them back on their feet.

It needs to be balanced (for example not giving so much they can't use it all, as in the case above) and it needs to require -- REQUIRE -- some personal responsibility.

AND what really kills me is when the system is set up such that a person on welfare can't afford to go back to work because they'd lose the welfare but have less income/food as a result.

We need a system that that gets people back to work, not encourages them to stay on welfare.

A safety net, not a hammock. Or, better yet, a trampoline!

Hah! Great ideas are easy. Selling them to idiot public (and the power brokers) is HARD.

I disagree, we have some real idiots selling some really bad ideas to the public. As long as it is easier to be dumb than it is to be intelligent, we will always have more dumb people than smart people.

And that isn't elitist of me. I am right on the cusp of where I could fall into either pile on any given day.

Today we prepared soil for planting watermelons at the farm.
Seeing my son working shirtless I got an idea. I'll prep him for a natural BB competition.
18 month ago he looked like a stick insect. If my training got him this far, I can get him in the right condition to compete too.
I called a friend who knows the Bodybuilding scene, he will talk to a guy who trains for something like "Mr. Fitness", that would be the event my son would have the best chances.
My son likes the idea, I told him he will have to wear a speedo and get a tan, LMAO!
What do you guys think? Will we pull this off?

Plus, if he's got your genes...

LMAO, then he will be bald when he hits 30, hehehe!

He eats a lot of crap food, like pizza, bread and burger king trash, almost never hitting the required daily macros.
I don't know how he pulls it off to be so lean, not my genes. His mother is lean too and pretty muscular, it seems he got the right mix of genes from both.
EVERY day I'm talking sense into him. If he wanna win the contest, this has to change -and he knows it.

At least he is now eating oatmeal twice a day.
