Hairygrandpas log, fat- and older people welcome!- diet, training, cycles, healing

Went to the gym and took notes about what exercises I can do with my injury.

The list is short:
cables:
One arm triceps extension
One arm triceps extension reverse
Push down rope - only low weight

DB
behind neck triceps extensions
seated concentration curls
preacher curls
floor db extensions
nothing involving hammer grip

all rowing but no face pulls
chin ups - but no pull ups
shrugs all variations

absolutely no shoulder exercises and pushing, not even push ups

Needless to say that I'm depressed but it is -what it is, will make the best out of it.

Injuries are terrible. I sure hope you can heal them quickly!

Still got a lot of work in there today HG, hopefully this heals soon so you can continue to put the rest of us to shame with your crazy rest-pause sets. I try and look at injuries as a means to focus on something else that may be lagging, as long as it doesn't involve using the injured area.

Yep, will do.
Always wanted bigger traps, will focus on them.

HGP, I thought we shared the same no bull****, all or nothing approach? What's with these half SSEd workouts? Are you doing this just to say you punish yourself? Or are you actually training to be a stronger version if yourself?

I appreciate your hard headedness. It is admirable. And there are few people who never give up. But you are risking another injury and having to do more half SSEd workouts. Rest is part of the process.

You may be able to heal that shoulder in a few days, if you actually heal it. Or you can have more half SSEd workouts that accomplish very little.

I know you won't listen. I admire that about you.

Hairygrandpas log, fat- and older people welcome!- diet, training, cycles, he...

HG, there is a warrior's saying: "Live to fight another day"! While I understand your tenacity, I really recommend taking a week off from ANY lifting and re-evaluate your injuries.

There is no shame in this. You will not lose your gains. Your body will heal the injured tissue. Sometimes we need permission from our peers to "rest".

HG, As someone who has dealt with injuries and lifting I will echo what everyone else has been saying. Now is not the time to "be strong" and " definitely not the time to "push through the pain". I push myself now, after giving my body sufficient time to heal, and even then I am, cautious about what exercises I do and listen very closely to what my body tells me, both during exercise and the hours following it. You have made such awesome gains over the last months, a week or so off will not hurt that. But I can tell you from personal experience that a more severe injury, that sidelines you for months/years, will have that negative affect that you are trying to avoid. And that can definitely happen if you continue to push weights without giving your shoulder time to heal.

If you feel you must keep lifting, maybe focus on lower body exercises. Or grip strength (depending on where in your shoulder the injury is, since sometime I feel the grip exercises in my upper arms, but that may just be me). or ab crunches/back extensions. Or extra cardio (better off on a seated machine).

Just some suggestions and feedback from a concerned friend. Be well, get better, live to lift another day.

Sorry to hear about your injury HG. Rest up and you'll come back stronger than ever.

I've got different advice...now is the time to dedicate the next two weeks to nothing but legs!!! Leg press, hack squats, leg curls, leg extensions...just focus on your wheels!

Both knees are fugged too, but will do what's possible. After bombing the shoulder issue with prednisone, knees got better, LOL.

Thank u all for the good words. Will do abs and cardio until healing, focus is on stairmaster and bicycle.

Shoulder is somewhat better but will wait before beginning rehab exercises.

If you want to punish yourself while you heal, join my PSMF for 12 days while you heal. You will come back ripped.

Lol. HG is hardcore!

Shoulder injury update:

After internet guided self tests I'm sure it's an "Supraspinatus Tear".
So far I did nothing else than taking 2 days prednisone -now NSAID's, resting the arm and doing trigger point therapy using the "Armaid'.
The arm is still at 50% of the initial perceived relieve, after the prednisone.
Will incorporate alternating infrared heating -and ice cooling to heighten blood flow to the injury.
Tomorrow my courier gets goods, hopefully BPC is coming.

Nice detective work. Glad you have an idea of what it is, but sorry it isn't healing faster. I wonder if this is just a ruse to get us interested in your bpc log.

I've decided my next log is going to be a pbc log. Peanut. Butter. Cup. Who wouldn't like that? I know it would make my shoulder hurt less.

Hairygrandpa, you feeling better yet? I know I told you to take some time off, I didn't mean the rest of it! I miss this log. Can't wait to hear about your BPC healing.

hairygrandpa come on bro you can still walk !!!!!! We miss u !!

Yeah! What he said!

Tracked my shipment. The fugging BPC and other stuff I bought was sent back to the seller, because at destination (freight forwarder) no one accepted it.
Don't ask me why.

I'm not going to the gym, because I would feel like a kid in a candy store who can only chose dry crackers.

Maybe call the company and ask them to send the exact order to you while they wait for the order that is going back to them but not to charge you. It wol take about a month for them to get it back.

They already got it back. Now I'm waiting until they resend it.
Just when I needed it the most god damn it!

Starting gym on Saturday with a dozen rehabilitation exercises using rubber bands, trying to restrain me from the DB section.
Until then, trigger point therapy and watching rehabilitation vids on youtube.
Shoulder is getting slowly better. Can lift arm sideways but as soon I do it with a coffee mug in hand, pain.

My knees are better, not to the point to do exercises but I can now climb stairs at a faster pace without discomfort.
Apparently the two days of prednisone took out most of the inflammation.
I'm at 500mg test-e / 300mg masteron per week/ 20mg Ostarine x day.
I'm not taking AI's and I guess that my estrogen is fairly high, helping with the healing of my knees and shoulder, as does the ostarine.

We need to ship you off to S.H.I.E.L.D. for some super soldier serum...injuries are the worst! Feel better bro.

Changed my NSAID from diclofenac to indomethacin and feel much better today.
Luckily, here is most stuff OTC.

With the newly regained range of motion from indomethacin, my rehab session tomorrow will be less painful.

When looking in the mirror, I'm getting smaller by the day. If I keeping losing muscles at this pace, in one month I'll look like smith_69 .

Lol. Shots fired!

First day at the gym after injury:

Did 60 minutes rehab exercises. The injury is worse than I thought, certain movements were very painful.
Will repeat doing rehab every 2 days.
Depression is taking over again because I realize it will take weeks to recover, -or even months.

Stay positive, HG. My AC separation took months before I made any real progress again. I was able to press half-a$$edly and help maintain what I had but it probably didn't help recovery time. Rehab the sh1t out of yourself!

Tonight I'm invited to a birthday of a friend.
They all know me as the cheer-up guy so I downed 2gr of Phenibut to accomplish it.
Thank the goddess for Phenibut, LOL.
