Hairygrandpas log, fat- and older people welcome!- diet, training, cycles, healing

I made a change in my diet, as I think that carb back loading isn't the best for me.
.

I've been carb backloading too and I'm starting to think it might not work to well for me either.

Lethargy is kicking my a$$ and I know some more carbs throughout the day could help, but I want my body to burn as much fat as possible (catch 22). I've been drinking more coffee to help but that also dehydrates me further, another catch 22 Lol.

I've been going super low carb too, 10-15% all clean except for white rice after workout. Maybe I'll try bumping up the carbs to 20-25% and keep backloading, see how I feel. I remember how good I felt when I was eating my sweet potato every morning...

You are definitely killin it gramps, keep it up!!

Getting the fat off is a pain in the azz, lol.
The idea now is to get a insulin response from my body, by eating a bunch of carbs like 350-400 kcal post workout. Mainly whole wheat pasta or potatoes.
Supposedly this speeds up fat loss when in a caloric deficit.
Why the lethargy? Are you on a ph without test or something?
How long did you do the back loading?
My weight loss while back loading stalled by week 3 and it turned into a slow recomp with some muscle loss.
I'm feeling a bit stronger since eating carbs.
I guess it's different for everybody, we have to try different things to get to know our body's better.

Day 22 on 500mg sup3r-epi with 5 pumps of BPS dermacrine e/d.

Been backloading since around middle of January.

I've got 2 bottles of dermatrest coming, tracking says by Monday. Hopefully it will do better for me. My dermacrine is ~8 months old and went all dark and liquidy so maybe it lost some potency. Regardless, carbs are still energy that I need.

Backloading is different for me, never tried it before but it seems to be a good way to take in your carbs, right after workout when you need them the most. I'm usually 5-6 hours fasted when I workout and consuming ~1800-2200 cals a day.

nice cutty-

started reading more about it, but one thing to mention, keep a log as much detail as possible- include your mood and energy levels- this will come in handy 4-6 months down the road

With back loading you mean "after workout"? I was on 40gr carb ( or no carbs) x day and back loaded carbs only Saturdays.
The Dermatrest will kill the lethargy the same day you use it!
Best experience for me so far with AAS, Sarms, PH's -or designer roids was Trest, hands down! There are people who hate it, be aware of nipple-trouble and have adex or aromasin on hand.
You are dieting since January? Your avatar looks like you don't need to, lol.

My backloading is 1cup instant white rice right after my workout with my protein shake. I have a serving of carrots with breakfast and a serving of broccoli with lunch and dinner and 2 servings of almonds with my epi, so yeah that rice is basically all my carbs.

The dermacrine gets me going in the morning but by afternoon I'm gone. Considering you only need one or two pumps with the trest, and hopefully it's not runny like hot syrup, I'll be able to dose twice a day.

Thanks for the nip tip.

My avatar was ~3yrs ago and alot has changed, so yea I'm dieting. Pic was 170lb now 235lb. Was at 250lb Jan. 12th. so progress is steady but slow.

I'm hoping to be in much better shape by fall and then run some epistane. I will definitely lean out with that.

Ah, thanks for clearing this up. Basically, I'm switching now to your diet, with carbs after workout. Before was sort of targeted keto.
Dermatrest is easily absorbed and not oily. I took 30-45mg orally before workout and used TD only in the morning after showering.
I figured, since I sweat a lot, it would be a waste applying TD before the gym.
The oral trest is what hits the nipples really hard, the TD less, IMHO.

WOW, from 170 to 250lbs in 3 years. Good to know that besides me, there are other chubbys here, lol! Looking at all the underwear models at AM, I almost felt lonely but now we are two fatty's on a mission, hehehe.

You are down 15 lbs! Do you think you gained some muscles, while loosing fat? That would be optimal.
Telling you this for your consideration:
Epistane was poison for me, it literally wrecked my knee joints, could be permanent damage. I read a lot about it and it seems that I'm one of very few with this bad of a reaction to it, but I'm not alone. I blame my advanced age and my predisposition with bad knees too.

For my cut I'm on Anavar now, with a bit of test. So far it's working great as a cutting agent with no sides -but it's expensive and maybe not legal in your country.

Ever thought starting a log of your journey?

Ah, almost forgot, bighulksmash is in our group too, LOL:

Do what works for you, these low carbs are rough. This is the last 4 week macro average for me: P-1,535G, F-646G, C-583G, per week. So as a percentage: P-42.5%, F-40.75%, C-16.25%
The science behind it sounds good, as the only time you "REALLY" need carbs is after workout to replenish glycogen, but complex carbs definitely help with energy throughout the day too. My body is having a rough time adjusting to burning fat for fuel throughout the day, hopefully in time it will do better. Also must note that the body fat being burned is probably highly toxic as it is a result of 3 yrs worth of alcohol and bad nutrition so that can add to feeling rough too I assume. When I was lean my carb and fat ratios were reversed and I was eating a good bit of carbs so when I get back to ~12%bf I may stop this low carbing.

I have gained a ton of muscle and strength. That muscle memory stuff is no joke! Week 1-2 of starting back working out sucked, I felt weak and worthless. In week 3 the strength started coming back and it hit like a freight train. I'm already back to solid 18" arms and getting great shoulder and back definition. Just got to get rid of all this chest fat and abdominal fat now. The weight started coming off real fast, now it has slowed on the scale but not in the mirror and measurements. Dropped from a 40 to a 36 pant size already.

I have ran epistane in the past, ~4yr ago, and I stacked it with stanzabolin and rs-transaderm. Did h-drol before that, not immediately of course, I had pct and time off, and of course all the staples with both. Used super cissus and fish oil for my joints and it helped a lot but my knees are a little wore too, I attribute it mostly to all the running though. I have decided to never run again and just do HIIT for cardio.

I may do a log when I lean out and start on a lean bulk, not sure if I'll have the time to do a proper log with work and all.

I appreciate all your words of wisdom, you are a motivation keep going strong!

Sunday morning at 3.00 am some guys broke into my retail store, smashing the shop window with a huge boulder.
The window was 9mm bullet proof but they managed to put a hole into it, big enough for a small person to get in, cutting themselves and loosing some blood in the process.
They took merchandise for about 2.5k but luckily didn't go for the safe. My security service arrived about 15 minutes later and disturbed them.
While fleeing they throw merchandise in bushes and under parked cars. I found some of it in the middle of the night with my flashlight.
Since nobody replaces shop windows on Sundays, I have to stay put and guard the damn shop 24 hrs until Monday.

I'm happy they didn't took any of my hard earned gains, LOL.

A small consolation is that the mother****ers bled to get in. Pity the glass didn't do more damage. That would have taught them that taking what isn't theirs is not acceptable.

The glass should have cut off their balls. Witnesses said they were 13-16 year old crackheads.
They took a new hoverboard, Playstation 4 console , shytload of games (new releases) and accessories . They surely will face-plant trying the hoverboard, wish I could see this.

Then you could have hung their nuts in the window as a warning for any other dumb punks. BTW, I'm glad the witnesses just sat there and watched these delinquents without intervening. Hope insurance will cover the losses and damages.

Sorry for the loss. People can't work for a living anymore! It's deplorable all the dope heads on food stamps and welfare and abusing the system. Young people don't have many good positive role models to mentor them anymore. Such a dark and dying world.

Sorry buddy. You should be at your store's front desk cleaning a long barreled firearm in plain view for everyone to see.

Insurance here is a ripoff, not having payed insurance for 20 years saved me way more than the 2.5k missing, lol. The main witness was a security guard a block away, he saw them leaving but did not saw the actual heist, he would have acted.

In this log earlier on is a picture of my daytime guard with a pump gun, the crackheads were no clients of mine. I live above the shop and could have shot them one by one from my balcony, but I wasn't home, damn.
It really isn't about the money, it's about the now lost sense of security for me and my family. Sound sleeping at night is over for awhile.

One more reason to get big and strong.
The surprise will be big when a huge hairy grandpa appears, with a decade of martial arts experience throwing cars at them.

Money is pretty much trivial when it comes to a lost sense of security. That is a tough feeling to reestablish.

Hopefully they overdosed that evening...

View from the balcony, pump gun ready...

I have to stay guard at night until Tuesday, window guys told me... damn.

Loving that decline push up variation! I bet the stretch is INTENSE!

Update on my siege:

No suspicious movement noted the whole night. Neighboring businesses are alarmed, I saw a lot of private security patrols this night.
Currently I'm waiting for a friend to install a wooden panel, so I can sleep.

After an inventory, I noticed that less merchandise is missing than previously suspected but the bill for the window alone makes me angry.

While holding watch I busted some rhymes you have to imagine a black voice rapping :

bum,bum,psss,bum,bum,psss

on the hoverboard getting off to run
you're going slow with empty battery
you hear the shot of grandpas gun
now you're doing splattery

bum,bum,psss,bum,bum,psss

Your crack pipe shattered in your pocket
you're pissing your pants a last time
an eye dangles out of the socket
the hunter is busting a rhyme

bum,bum,psss,bum,bum,psss

Not as good as Tupac but what do you expect from a white grandpa?

It *is* kind of funny and kudos to hairygrandpa for not loosing your sense of humor, although I know it's no laughing matter. When I was much younger, I had a guy break into my apartment looking for pot. Apparently the person(s) that lived there before me used to sell it. The miserable SOB went through my sock and underwear drawers, flipped my mattress over, then left his nasty t-shirt on the floor and stole one of mine, helped himself to half a bottle of Pepsi (yeah, I used to drink sodas way back then), and then took off on my girlfriend's pink bike. Initially I had a mix of angry, sick to my stomach, hyper alertness from lack of feeling safe in my own place. It took me awhile to feel normal again and not get angry every time I thought about it.
I am glad my GF and I were not at home when that happened, or things would have gone down very differently.

One question: Did he found what he came for (your stash)?

LOL

When something like this happens, you suddenly are in touch with reality again. Prevention and alertness is key.
The guy running off with a pink girls bike is hilarious, are you sure he didn't found any LSD or shrooms in your house? Hehehehe!

I opted for installing iron bars on the inside, behind the glass door and windows of the shop, this should be sufficient.
The "wake up call" was actually a good thing, it made me get suspicious.
I always had big dogs in the house, like Mastiffs and Rottweilers and slept with open doors and windows. My last dog died of bone cancer and I didn't got another one.. Now I inspected my property looking for weak spots someone could use to enter and found an easy access over the roof to a terrace on the third floor. Will put up a wall or something to prevent a surprise visit.

If he did find something in my house, well that would piss me off even more. Whatever the old tenant left behind was a gift to the next one (me) ... kind of like when you get to a hotel and there is a chocolate waiting for you on your pillow. I'd be super pissed if someone came in and helped himself to my chocolate. :damnit:

Maybe you should consider getting a new dog. They are good for stress relief, good company, and anyone trying to get into your place will **** their pants the moment they hear that deep, slow growl coming out of the darkness. Dogs are the best alarm system and the best deterrent.

Top 5 rappers of all time.....

1) Tupac
2) Nas
3) Biggie
4) Rakim
5) HGP (Hairlessgrandpa)

are you high?

Tupac #1????

fool, you bedda reco'nize- you need to go back 30+ years and re do this list- Rakim would make this, maybe HGP but Tupac? aint that fool still alive- seems like hes always coming out with a new album

Lol, had a flashback how it is having puppy's in the house again... Hell no!
As a molosser guy, I dont like small "c*nt-licker-dogs" or constantly barking shepherds.
Living with mastiff puppy's in the house is trouble. Besides, you can't go on vacations or leave the house for too long, you essentially are a slave to your dogs, it's not them watching over you, it's the other way around. Ah, and it always breaks my heart when they die. Mastiffs live at most 7-9 years. Rottweiler live longer but the illnesses they may have are a pain in the azz too.
No more dogs in my house. At the farm is another thing.

Found out recently, doing lat pulls sitting straight and trying to touch the chest, works my lat way better as going 220lbs with an arched back.
Also found out military press sucks azz. Will not do it again, fukk that shyt.

Try doing the lat pulldown on a incline bench if you really want to keep it straight and maybe do band facepulls for your rear delts plus it helps your rotator cuffs. Those bent over rows looking nice 220lbs is strong as **** my man!!

Would love to try lat pull downs on a incline bench, gym does not have a suited machine...
You remembered me to do more face pulls, my rear delts are in fact lacking.
My pulls have always been strong, there is some serious imbalance between pushing and pulling. Will sit down and make a new training plan do develop more pushing power.

You just need to set up a inclined bench in front of a lat pulldown machine and I'd say for your weak points with pushing try figuring out which body part is lagging and add more frequency to it IMO. If your rear delts lag then it can cause shoulder issues. Since you don't do 1RMs(I think) maybe line up youre 10RMs for bench, deadlift, and squat then work from there.

Fantastic lifting. Smart move to stop OHP if pain is felt.

are you high?

Tupac #1????

fool, you bedda reco'nize- you need to go back 30+ years and re do this list- Rakim would make this, maybe HGP but Tupac? aint that fool still alive- seems like hes always coming out with a new album

Yes, Tupac is MY no. 1 by a landslide. Album sales, sheer volume of hits and work, personna, lyrical content, flow, voice, rawness and passion, the way he connected with and spoke to the culture (social influence), his poetry, his vision, his legacy and the timelessness of his classic work. Nobody else can bring as much overall to the rap game as he did. Not to mention the fact that he accomplished all of this by his 25th birthday.

I've been listening to rap since the 80's so I'm well-versed in what's out there. Honarable mentions for me would go to KRS-One, Jay-Z and a few others as well. Rap groups and DJ's and the founding fathers are another story entirely.

By all means though, if HGP doesn't mind, let's hear your top 5....
