Hair Loss

I'm not on any PH at the moment, and I don't think I will use them again for various reasons, but I am losing my hair at age 23 (not PH related, probably just genetic).

I have been considering something like propecia, but since I don't have insurance getting it is a bit tricky. Beyond that, I was wondering what other hair loss prevention techniques are available, and what the side effects of propecia would be on my ability to make gains and lose fat. I'm not really looking to regrow any hair, but stop the hair loss before I feel as though I do need hair regrowth.

I feel ya bro, hair loss is a crappy thing, I`m 29 and started to slightly recede about a year ago, while my hair still looked good and no one could tell (but me of course) I knew I had to do something to stop or reverse it...especially since I do use steroids and other PH`s. For about 6 months I`ve been on Liquid Finasteride (propecia), Minoxidil 5%, Nizoral 2%, and Folligen spray, I`m about to order some Spiro from Custom nutrition too...yeah it`s prolly overkill (I may drop Folligen after the bottle is gone), however I refuse to lose hair and realistically it`s not that much money per month (the finasteride is the most expensive item and lasts me over four months). And so far my hair line is basically back to normal...if I didn`t use hair killing products and had already been on Spiro, then I bet my hair would be 100%.

Anyways friend, get some liquid-pro "Finasteride" from universalkits.com ..you don`t need insurance because it is for *cough* research purposes only. Keep the dosing to 1-1.25 mg per day and you shouldn`t have any side effects (well at least I don`t). If you are not on Minoxidil 5%, pick some up just about anywhere. Nizoral 2% can be found online at various (mostly canadian) websites. And like I said the Spiro can be found at the sponsor of this board, customnutritionwarehouse.com

Long winded reply, but I like talking about this stuff...hopefully one day the cure for MPB will be found and we can all just take one product!

appreciate the info, Im probably gonna have to take some aaction with my hair as well.

Bro check out Invalid Link Removed. They have a good selection of the best hairloss products, and their prices are good.

Im 28, started noticing my hair thinning about a year ago. I went on Nizoral EOD/Sprio 1x a day at night, and Minoxidil 5%/Azelaic acid (a DHT inhibitor) 2x a day. A definate improvement in the thickness and rate of growth!

You've got to jump on the problem early to get the best results. There's no definate cure for MPB (yet), but there's enough stuff floating around out there that if you are consistent and dump enough of it on your scalp, you'll see some great results:)

If you are suceptible to MPD will these mentioned solutions only stop it where it is currently at or will any of them actually grow it back?

I swear, there is at least 1 hair loss thread every week. I've never lost a strand of hair, but you guys got me so paranoid that i bought some nizoral 1% at a local drugstore for on-cycle prevention. there are some serious baldys going on here. but, i'll bet your back and ass crack is still a jungle! the last remark was for the $10 you guys made me waste.

1% Nizoral would be a waste. You should have gone with 2% Nizoral and 5% Spiro cream  :whip:

i just got some of custom's 5% spiro today. when is the best time to apply it? say twice day right after a shower? should the hair be completely dry or a little damp? hmmm.....

It is I who shall have the last laugh when your shining that dome with Turtle Wax:)

hey, can i ask you something i'm really curious about? When you are surfing the web, can you see the reflection off the shiny top of your head on the computer monitor? And like, do you prefer to surf with your sunglasses on?

Actually, I use the reflection of the top of my head as a second monitor. With carefully placed mirrors, I can used the extended windows desktop wherever I go.

Hey I had a question for you, too. Do you use your scalp as a transdermal application site? Considering how the skin is so thin and its a completely hairless area....:D

There are some things which I may recommend for a healthy hair and which can also prevent the hair loss too. Foremost one needs to eliminate the stress factors from life as this has been proven to be one of the factor which can make hair loss. Again there are some people who are habituated in coloring their hair however this should be limited to twice a month and lastly too much stress handling has also been proven to be bad for the hairs which may include excessive combing making different styles with the hair etc. If these things can be adhered too the hair loss will be at a premium.
