Had a package that I didn’t order confiscated by US customs

Not sure what to do; got a love letter from CBP about some test, Proviron and tamoxifen they confiscated that was supposedly addressed to me. Crazy thing is I didn’t even order it. Should I worry about criminal charges? They said the value of the items was 10k! Which is crazy for a little testosterone

How do you know it was a "LITTLE" Testosterone?
 
Not knowing anything... id guess if they wanted to arrest you, you'd have been arrested not notified of the seizure.

Are arrests common for this type of thing? I never hear about them in the body building world or even read about them on forums like this
 
You sure it was from customs? They normally don't tell you what they confiscated nor do they test in that great detail. I wouldn't worry about criminal prosecution; if they were going to do that they would have carried out the delivery and surveiled you until you did something with them like try to sell them or held them long enough for you to know what you have. Honestly this sounds more like the start of a scam though. .. I'd say ignore anymore letters

Yeah. I contacted a lawyer and they ran the number on the letter through the Customs website and found it. Lawyer told me to ignore the letter and keep my nose clean for 5 years.

My biggest concern is that the amount they said the contraband was worth (11k) would cause them to press charges. My lawyer did say that’s like a drop in the ocean to them, so maybe I’ll be safe.

Just hoping I don’t find a citation or something in the mail the next few weeks. The letter said I may have “civil penalties” that may be sent to me in a different letter.
 
You say you didn't order anything and your not interested in picking up a package you didn't order. Is far as I know, your only guilty if you accept the package

Unless you they can prove he ordered it.
Which they can't.

I’m hoping that’s the case lol.

I was spazzing out pretty good yesterday but I’ve researched it on a few forums and they’ve talked me off the ledge.

I am in the healthcare industry for work so I’m also slightly concerned about that, but I would think if no charges are brought then I should be ok

As far as I know, you Should be ok.

But .... They are now monitoring packages coming to your address, so don't order anything to there that you don't want confiscated/discovered.

Crazy part is I didn’t order this one lol. In reading on some AAS forums that has happened to a few guys over the past year. One dude even said he got a seizure letter for over 100 boxes of HGH that he didn’t order 😲

People were then speculating that they were being sent other peoples packages by mistake or maybe UGLs were just sending them stuff to see if it would make it through as a “test” of sorts or something. Kinda wild.
 
There was a "scam" I heard of a while back where people would have stuff shipped to your address, then grab it as it was delivered. Incident i am aware of was with pre paid phones. But would be also applicable to anabolics.

Also heard about this. I think it’s either that or someone I’ve ordered from in the past sent the package to the wrong address. Which is weird but screw ups do happen

They could also be cracking down on whoever that supplier was and just going through their email list. The package might not have even existed, maybe they just wanted to see if you would show up to claim something thinking you were going to get a freebie and then have to give them information.

It's definitely a possibility, not super likely tho
 
Assuming that you're in the US you're considered innocent until proven guilty. If you didn't order it and never took possession you haven't broken any laws so there's nothing that they can even charge you for let alone prove that you are guilty of anything.

However if you were to show up and try to take possession and/or contest the confiscation that might be considered an acknowledgement that you did indeed order it even if they haven't any proof of that right now.

Who knows what is going on. It could be a scam or maybe they came across your address and are fishing to see if they can get you to bite.

The part about "The letter said I may have “civil penalties” that may be sent to me in a different letter." makes me suspicious of someone trying to scam/intimidate you into paying them off. This reminds me of the automated messages that I get on my phone from time to time warning me about how they "have an arrest warrant out for me" and how I need to "contact them immediately and pay them off" to make the make believe charges go away.

I'd ignore it. You probably won't hear anything again and if you do and have concerns that it could in fact be legitimate you've already contacted an attorney that can deal with it. The biggest concern that I'd have is the possibility that you got on someone's radar and that they may be monitoring your address for future deliveries but given the millions of packages going through the postal system daily that seems like a bit of a stretch.

We've got people out there dealing in hundreds of millions of dollars in drugs. The government simply hasn't the manpower nor the motivation to try to chase down every guy buying small quantities of anabolics for personal use.
