Just something I found on the congressional webpage. I know they had a vote by the rules committee and it passed there. Now I think they have established a date for the actual vote. Here is what the webpage says. Not sure if anyone knows where to find the calendar? Placed on the union calendar.

Anyway,

Enzo

H.R.3866
Title: To amend the Controlled Substances Act to provide increased penalties for anabolic steroid offenses near sports facilities, and for other purposes.
Sponsor: Rep Sensenbrenner, F. James, Jr. [WI-5] (introduced 3/1/2004) Cosponsors: 9
Latest Major Action: 4/27/2004 Placed on the Union Calendar, Calendar No. 270.

I would like to know when the vote is....so I can strategically start placing orders.

Here is something I found searching Invalid Link Removed, describing the "Union Calendar":

IX. CALENDARS

The House of Representatives has 5 calendars of business:
the Union Calendar, the House Calendar, the Private Calendar,
the Consent Calendar, and the Calendar of Motions to
Discharge Committees. The calendars, together with a listing
of all bills introduced and a history of all bills reported
out of committee in the current Congress, are printed each
day the House is in session to provide information on the
status of pending legislation.

As soon as a public bill is favorably reported, it is
assigned a calendar number on either the Union Calendar or
the House Calendar, the 2 principal calendars of business.
The calendar number is printed on the first page of the bill
and, in certain instances, is printed also on the back page.
In the case of a bill that was referred to 2 or more
committees for consideration in sequence, the calendar number
is printed only on the bill as reported by the last committee
to consider it.

UNION CALENDAR

The rules of the House provide that there shall be:

First. A Calendar of the Committee of the Whole House on the
state of the Union, to which shall be referred bills raising
revenue, general appropriation bills, and bills of a public
character directly or indirectly appropriating money or
property.

This is commonly known as the Union Calendar and the large
majority of public bills and resolutions are placed on it on
being reported to the House. For a discussion of the
Committee of the Whole House, see Part XI.

UNQUOTE

this is why it is so improtant to call or fax congressman now. it was said before, we know we cant stop it, but if we can delay it by a few months, i know it would give me the chance to try and get out 2 more ideas I had.

I am not sure this holds true. But after looking at other bills or amendments to bills that have passed and reviewing other Union Calendar Pdf files, it seems to take 45 days for amendments to bills to become law after the president signs. The president still has to sign it which can take a few more weeks. I would guess we still have about two months before it is law. Better hurry up sledge. If you get the products out fast enough we can buy em faster. Time is ticking.

I posted this same thing over at USFA.biz b/c they are more knowledgeable when it comes to this process. So maybe we can keep this stuff legal for a few more months.

Here is a reply from the site administrator

"The Union Calendar is one of five calendars, and deals with bills that in some way affect money. In other words, bills that the government will cost the government something.

This means that HR 3866 is on the calendar for a vote in the House of Representatives, however we do not have a confirmation on the date. A vote could happen at any time, but we will do our best to get advanced notice. Following a vote by the House to approve, the bill will then be sent over to the Senate. That is where we believe our latest efforts will prove to be most successful. It is our hope that our contacts in the Senate will want to review and/or mark up the legislation, which would likely cause a vote in the Senate to be delayed until the next Congress (at least a couple of months.)

Please keep sending letters to your Congressman (Especially Senators) and encouraging others to do the same. We are in the process of membership recruitment and our organization is growing stronger everyday. Thank you and don't give up the fight! "
